They are clearly tuned to the finer hair of AFAB, which is fine, but I had no idea this level of pain isn't normal. Go to a place that *has* electrolysis, but don't actually get electrolysis to start (one I switched to is Sunswirl in darmouth) they are much more medical and actually understand different hair types. Not only was the prep work more throughout (making sure it's shaved close enough, cleaned, etc) but the pain was actually tolerable. They will actually respond to how painful it is for you, and adjust. Oh ya, the price is also insane. The other place I'm at is *less* *without* any discount (less than dermaenvy's 50% discount for gender care) and they do also have some discount for gender care on packages of 3+

I was getting treated for severe acne with Accutane and she was always straight forward and nice. She has the most beautiful skin ever. I hope I have nice skin like that when I'm her age. She took one look at a pink scaly rash I have had since I was a kid and told me it was psoriasis and prescribed the right thing. Yet when I was a kid I went to the IWK for many appointments and even got a skin biopsy done and they still could not figure out what it was. So quick and efficient! The lobby is really classy and clean not dingy at all with flat screens connected to the ceiling that show ads. Dr. Baxter even gave me samples for skin care that would be good to use while I was on Accutane. It was sweet of her to give me enough to get me through because I am from a working class family and could not have afforded to go out and buy moisturizers and cleansers for my changing skin needs (skin gets very very dry and flaky on Accutane). She also does cosmetic dermatology and I have only been there for medical reasons but I am sure it is just as great. I think it would be a smart choice to get your Botox and laser hair and skin treatments done by a real dermatologist not just an esthetician . More safe. If I can ever afford cosmetic dermatology she will be my first choice!

When I walked in to book I handed the lady (can't remember her name) the gift card and said "I want to book this" so, she set up an appointment with me for a couple days later. I had asked if I could change / pay extra to have a pedicure instead of a manicure (because I find manicures just chip in a day or so anyway, and aren't worth it (the GC was a gift to me)) this change apparently wasn't possible. Ok, that was pretty annoying, but I wasn't that upset about it , free manicure, whatever. When I showed up for my appointment, all was well. I had the massage and it was wonderful. An hour long of very professional, great, relaxing service. The whole time I was thinking I would definitely be booking again for a massage. Loved it Kelsey was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the massage. The manicure was great too, until I was escorted out as soon as it was done, not being able to sit and let it dry at all, so 3 of my nails smudged before I even got to my car. (They did gladly help me get out my wallet and gift card, which was nice). I figured, I knew a regular manicure was just going to chip anyway so whatever. Up until then, everything was fine, it was when I went to hand in my gift card that I became severely disappointed and upset. So, she, being the one working there, should have booked the service that was on the gift card. I didn't know what she booked in, she just gave me the date and time. She had looked it up apparently and told me the reason I couldn't change to a pedicure was because the gift card was bought on a deal, so obviously she should have booked for that specific deal , as in the 30 minute massage, and manicure, not for an hour instead?? I would like to hope that it was just an honest mistake, but I feel cheated and don't think it's fair that I had to pay an extra 60-something dollars for a service that should have been free and a relaxing, enjoyable experience that was a gift to me. I would have happily only had the 30 minute massage that the card was for, but I didn't realize that she booked me for an hour, nor was I paying attention to the time while I was in the relaxing massage setting. I don't appreciate the only response from the girl who was taking my gift card, when I expressed my shock and confusion, all she said was just "oh, sorry" and then expected my payment. The lady who booked my appointment was very friendly and professional, so things got off to a good start from there. When I arrived for my appointment, I only had to wait a few minutes until I was escorted into the treatment room. I cannot recall the name of my esthetician, but she was a seasoned professional and it showed. The entire procedure - full face micro plus a calming masque - took about 30 minutes. Micro is an odd sensation but not painful. Application of the masque was very thorough and relaxing. When it was all said and done, my esthetician told me that Tuesdays are half off micro - naturally, they are kept very busy with this deal!
