I didn't have $5k to spend on Wedding Photography and most people I looked at were $4k+. Anyone within my budget unfortunately didn't fit the style I was looking for. I used to do wedding photography on the side so I definitely know what I want. I found Vey Gallery and looked at their amazing portfolio and they had the perfect package that fit my needs and satisfied my requirements as far as photography style. I spoke to Melvin (the photographer) on the phone and got a great vibe from him and knew he was perfect for my wedding. He was very prompt with getting to me real fast when I emailed him and scheduled a phone call for us to chat about the packages etc. He was very informative and seems like a fun person to work with. What's also awesome is that I can contact my own photographer via text message if any questions arise etc. I'm a busy person and rely on text for contacting people so being able to communicate with him so easily is definitely a huge plus. She was extremely responsive throughout the planning process and when she found out our original location was closed due to COVID, she was flexible and found us another spot for our photos. She was so much fun to work with and extremely personable! If you're awkward like us and don't know how to pose, she's got lots of ideas and makes it easy! If you're worried about not looking good during the photos, she'll tell you how to fix your hair and position your face so the photos come out flattering. She is definitely a professional and knows what she's doing! We got our photos back in less than a week and they were beautiful! I was living in California at the time I was planning my Austin wedding, so I wasn't sure where to…read moreeven begin my search for a great wedding photographer. One of the wedding planning books I read suggested looking for photographers on ppa.com (Professional Photographer's of America), and that's how I came across Austin Imagery's website. I liked what I saw there, but for such an important occasion, I wanted to make sure I did my due diligence before making a final decision, and boy did I! Here is the breakdown of my evaluation: 1. Photography Style: Following the advice of a friend (who wasn't very satisfied with her wedding photos), I asked to see 3 full albums to get a good sense of their photography style. I'm not into special tinting or "artistic" angles. My goal was to be able to look at my wedding album years from now and feel like the photos were timeless. Chris & Yvonne deliver a beautiful, classic style! They captured gorgeous images of the decor, and more importantly, my friends and family members all looked fantastic! 2. Rapport: Following the advice of another friend, I also had my sister (who is local to Austin) and her family meet Chris & Yvonne. It was important to me that my family get along well with both of them, because I think people's moods really show through in photographs. Needless to say, everyone got along great. I can't stress enough how fantastic Chris & Yvonne are to work with. Even my tough-to-please mother loved them both! 3. Customer Service: Chris & Yvonne were always very prompt with their responses and very accommodating throughout. When things got really hectic with my schedule in those last few weeks before the wedding, they were also proactive in reaching out to make sure all of the final details were set. They were also very timely with the delivery of the photos, which were available online well within the estimated time frame they had provided me. I truly cannot imagine having a better experience with wedding photographers and would recommend them to anyone! Research them yourselves. I doubt you'll be disappointed!

Working with KHP and her all-star team is not just a professional photography session but an experience that allows you to feel good about yourself and have that self shine in a way that feels completely authentic to you. I've had the pleasure of working with Olympia twice now -- once when I needed professionally styled headshots quite quickly for an upcoming feature/publication and once for a lifestyle shoot. To say that their product is top notch is an understatement -- no detail goes unthought of...from styling, hair and makeup, lighting, vision...and it all comes together with this fun, carefree, beautiful experience, working in their studio (and having fun as well) that makes this team worth every penny. They make it feel effortless. They also manage to compress entire sessions and selection process into short time span (though you wont feel rushed) ...genuinely, the work they do in terms of studio time would take most an entire day. A few months back, I logged into a Zoom call and noticed that my awesome headshots from that session didn't really look like me at all anymore. In this post-Covid lockdown world, as we might be tip-toeing slowly and carefully back to the world of in-person meetings and conferences, using an old headshot felt like a little bit of "bait and switch!" Let's face it, hair is longer, skin is still fabulous, but...I'm OLDER. Still awesome, still sassy, but I needed an update. This time I worked with the fabulous Olympia Roll (and again, why on earth would you make this investment without the professional makeup add-on specifically for the photographer?) who "got me" from the first minute. One thing I especially love is the super light touch on touchups and post-processing. These pictures look like me, not an air-brushed, over-filtered, a little too pose-y overly contrived version of me. Now I need to either write a book or run for office (or both! ha!) because she gave me photos that make me look and feel like a BOSS. Thank you!
