I just left the Bloomingdales at riverside. This was the worst customer service I have experience here. I went to purchase a watch and no one would help me. I had to literally say hello can someone help me. Then the gentleman stated I am already doing something, mind you the store was not even crowded. Then finally we were offered some help and could only find an emporio Armani watch in our price range of $350. Really!! So you would think he would find something above that but no! Sorry nothing else in that range. Like he didn't have time to show us others or know the inventory. So we are told wallets are in the other aisle. We walk around like lost children and I finally ask someone standing around where was the section. She says sorry I'm new don't know where anything is from the Burberry section and points to the department across. So I go there and see no one. I say hello anyone working here and then someone shows up and says the section is by glasses. Again we go there look around. No one asks if they can help us. At that point I was frustrated and decided to spend my money elsewhere. Ridiculous to not provide good service especially when the store is not busy. We ended up going to the tumi store to get the wallet and paid more but the service was great. Our $350 budget went to $600 because the salesman nurtured and closed a sale. That's how the make money for your store. Hope it improves it I won't be going back. The salesman also told us to go to Macy's. That says it all. read more

There were 4 ladies at the Burberry section of the sales floor who were working with a single customer who was RETURNING a jacket she purchased over 365 days ago. They weren't interested in helping customers who wanted to PURCHASE anything. How many times are you going to kiss this one lady's butt and insist that, 'I'm going to do this for you today even though I shouldn't...?' And why do you need three associates and a manager/supervisor to deal with this one situation? We must have stood there with our purchases in our hands for about 15 minutes ready to buy. The big return that required all hands on deck started off with two associates, then they called someone over, and then the three of them called over their supervisor. It was a lot of back and forth, and explaining, then re-explaining, then some phone calls and more over explaining. They finally finished with the lady with the year old RETURN and all ladies just disappear (yeah, they walked away from the cash wrap -to where, I do not know) and then one comes back about five minutes later to the register to ask if we were ready to be rung up. We were still ready to make our purchase there until she asked if we were ready to buy... no, 'can I help you,' or 'I'm sorry about the long wait...' she just went right to, 'are you ready?' We put everything down and went to Neiman's instead at Garden State Plaza. Really disappointing. Expected more, but most of their staff is very cold. They don't come to you to ask if you need help -instead you have to approach them. Also, if you're not wearing your Moncler puffer or carrying your Bottega Veneta handbag that day they'll carry on their conversations like you don't exist. I get it, but really, I don't, because customer service should be blind to things like this. read more

I'm a frequent customer, but I was disappointed by the service I received today. I bought a tux at the store a month ago, which wasn't cheap, and I came back today to pick it up after it was altered. My biggest gripe is that, as I was trying on the tux, I wanted help tying the bow tie, looking at a new belt, etc., but the sales people I worked with kept running off to help other customers. I got the sense that no one wanted to help me because there was no longer any commission to be had - I had already made the purchase and the commission went to someone who wasn't working today. The salespeople didn't seem to work as a team. Disappointing experience, and one of the salespeople apologized profusely at the end, but it's not what I'd expect from a higher end department store. read more

Customer service is awful. I looked around at shoes for 20 minutes with they were dead and saw three people behind a counter and one person passed me, never once asking if I needed anything. I took a shoe off the shelf myself, tried it on, liked it, and decided I would find it elsewhere because they weren't getting my commission off a multi hundred dollar sell. On Tuesday December 22nd, I was shopping in what has got to be the nicest Bloomingdale's I've ever set foot in. It was beautiful, clean and so much variety. Unfortunately my wonderful experience at Bloomingdales was kind of ruined when it felt very much like red haired employee Pam T. (I wont spell out her full name because I'm not totally heartless) followed me around the store. I thought it was very nice of her to ask me if I needed help the first time. The second time it was obvious that she may have thought that I was potentially shop lifting and I also happen to be a black person. That did not sit well with me. I was incredibly uncomfortable when she approached me the second time acting overly sweet and eager to assist me but now PRESSURING ME to make a purchase. On the receiving end of this, it felt like she wanted me to make a purchase and get out. I say this because I felt RUSHED. I understand that just because she's trying to do her job, does not make it a race thing. But as a black woman, it feels so when you're completely innocent, but not being treated as such. I think this behavior needs to be corrected amongst all employees because it's REALLY WRONG. After feeling enough discomfort to make a purchase and leave, she did box the items very nicely for me and I really really appreciated that. But following me around the store (and I say this because she magically appeared out of no where the second time around) and pressuring me to make a purchase, making me feel rushed is not okay. Please re-educate all your employees to treat everybody fairly and not breath down any customer's neck. read more

Since I started coming here a few years ago I am a Bloomies junkie. If you go there enough you will know when the sales are and when to buy. I never buy anything that's not on sale. The staff is very helpful but the store could use a little modernizing. Parking at Riverside Square on a Saturday or during the Holidays is a challenge. This is a very nice suburban Bloomingdale's. The mens department is extensive and carries Theory, Hugo Boss, \and lots of premium denim. The store just completed a redesign and they have a great home section now. Mens suiting and coats is also impressive (much better than the Long Island locations) and of course no tax here! The womens selection upstairs is massive and my girlfriend was also surprised that this Bloomingdale's wasn't the typical suburban type where DKNY and Kenneth Cole are your best brands offered. Staff was very helpful, and I even took a look in the kids section and felt it was comparable to the 59th st flagship. All in all, if you have a car or are willing to take an easy bus trip from the GW Bridge bus station, this Bloomingdales is worth it. It looks kinda 1960s style on the exterior but they defintely carry many high-end brands. read more

I grew up with this Bloomingdale's and even worked there during my college years in the mid 70's. The store has gone through several renovations. Of the 40 stores in the company, this is within their top 5, so this store gets -EVERYTHING!. Everytime I come home to Jersey (now living in DC) I cry, really cry when I walk into that store, compared with the three inferior Bloomingdale's we have in this market. I walked into your store today at the Bergen County store. My mother was there last week and informed me of the great credit card perks your store has to offer. I decided to check it out for myself, but I had some questions. I approached one of your store employee's in the handbag section, her name is CAROLINE (blonde, tall, and caucasian). As she turned around she instantly rolled her eyes and wasn't happy to help me out. Yet, as a customer with questions I thought your hired representatives were there to answer questions and help customers who would like to make a purchase. I wanted to get a credit card and purchase a Louie Vuitton handbag (cross body Eva), to be exact. She was immediately bothered to even help me let alone actually complete the order for me. She said she had to "text someone first". So now I was instantly approached with nasty, disrespectful, awful customer service but she had to "text" someone, because "she did not want to be on the phone". I waited patiently and said I would be back once she got an answer. I came back within 10 minutes just to check up and she said "it's only been 5 minutes with another nasty attitude". However, when another Caucasian customer walked by she instantly asked her if she needed help with a SMILE and NO attitude. So now at this point I received a nasty attitude, but it's clearly she is a RACIST store representative. It is such a SHAME that this employee CAROLINE represents your store image and brand corporate name. Hiring employees like Caroline prove to customers that the entire Bloomingdales company does NOT care how their brand image is represented. Now just because I am a minority does not mean she can treat me like one, I am a customer willing to make a big purchase, such a shame. I truly hope that when I do return there to pick up my purchase she is not there, because that just shows Bloomingdales does not care about their customers. I called the manager over to help me with my situation she placed the order within seconds and NEVER mentioned anything about texting someone, so clearly your employee Caroline did not want to help me out at all! I will definitely no longer recommend Bloomingdales to my family members, friends, co-workers, customers, and social media networks. I would greatly appreciate that Bloomingdales hire employees that actually are willing to help ANYONE not based upon religion, race, or age. read more

So I will preface this by saying that I do most of my shopping online. And when I purchase from Bloomingdales, it's no different. That being said, I end upcoming to this location mainly to return items that didn't work out for me, and they have ALWAYS been happy to help and never give me any attitude or sass. Recently I purchased a jacket that was 30% off and then an additional 25% off. Long story short, my item arrived and it was too large for me. They did not have the size down in any store or online as the jacket was completely sold out. About a week later, my size randomly popped up online but it was no longer with the additional discount. I purchased it anyway hoping they would be kind enough to price adjust. Well I went to the store today and had the pleasure of dealing with Renee V who was extremely pleasant and more than wiling to help assuring me that it was not at all a problem. In the end, she let me return the one coat and not only price adjusted the size I wanted to the lower price, but also let me apply rewards dollars I didn't know I had towards it. And she did this all with a smile. In the end, she saved me an additional $250 over the original 30% off sale price and mind you, the jacket is still full price on the brand's official website. It's very helpful, they will call you when a good sale is about to happen and they will work with you closely to make sure you leave with a good deal and a smile on your face. read more

BLOOMINGDALES FURNITURE is the WORST! I bought two couches from Bloomindgales and spent 8,000. When we got them the two couches were different colors and had different stitching. This was after waiting 8 months. Then when we got two replacements they were not stuffed properly. My wife weights 115 pounds and I weigh 180. It looks like we could go on the Biggest Loser after we sit on them. We called EJ Victor and they told us they would have Bloomingdales call us and have it fixed. This was Michelle. She is a LIAR, because Bloomingdales never fixed it and pretty much told us it is your couches live with it. We went to Bloomindgales because they are supposed to be good at customer service. Well let me tell you they SUCK!. We had this guy Lon and he acts like your friend and then completely screws you. I am now out 8K have too couches that suck.
