For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. This is a smart use of space buried within the Mall of America and more specifically, within the…read moreNickelodeon Theme Park. It benefits from the mall offerings for food and entertainment if your meeting crosses the lunch hour. From a mall planning perspective, it was space that was not really in use for much so why not turn it into something useable and revenue generating? It is a nice, modern, bright space that has good AV capability and space for about 150 people comfortably. Given that, it meets the basic requirements for holding a meeting/conference but it has several quirky things that limit its utility. Being within a busy mall, parking can be an issue especially if your meeting is occurring on a day when the mall traffic is expected to be heavy. The closest parking ramp is the one between Macy's and Nordstrom's. Use the first floor West Entrance, walk straight ahead into the theme park and it is to your right 1 flight of stairs up. It sounds easier than it is, especially if the parking ramp is full, you may end up parking in a totally different area resulting in you being quite a ways away. I do notice that in this particular parking ramp, there are reserved spaces for almost every other type of venue except the conference center. (There are reserved spaces for package pickup, Uber pickup, medical clinic use, etc. but no reserved spaces for the conference center.) This can limit its ease of accessibility. Another odd quirk is that the conference room itself is an odd "L" shape which limits sight lines when in the audience. The room accommodates for this by putting large video screens on the side walls so that the content can be seen by everyone in the room so that is a unique way to deal with the visual obstacles in the room but the overall feel of the room is that it is somewhat broken up because if you sit deep in 1 end of the "L", you cannot see the other side. Another oddity that is quite entertaining but is actually a distraction is that the entry to the conference room (which is the back of the conference room) is floor to ceiling glass. This gives the speaker a commanding view of the theme park and contributes to the brightness and airy feeling of the space. However, as a speaker, you are acutely aware of every roller coaster that roars by because they do so about 10 feet outside the windows. Very thrilling and entertaining but also quite distracting as it occurs every 3-4 minutes. Finally, the noise level from the theme park is loud. The entry/exit is not protected with a double door or some type of entryway receiving room so the doors are the only thing that stand between the actual conference room and the theme park. This means that if anyone comes in or leaves during the middle of a presentation, the full sound and kiddy screams from the rides enters the meeting. Not cool as the audience then can't hear what the speaker is saying and the speaker has an immediate distraction during their talk (not to mention that it pretty much outs anyone trying to enter or exit quietly in the middle of the presentation). Overall, I really like the space and some aspects of the concept but it needs to fix the parking and sound issues for sure if it wants to be considered as a seriously desirable space for large meetings and conferences.

It was really cool how it was converted into a museum. The museum houses art from both pre and post Soviet Era. The kids loved it, and so did I. The arcade, on the other hand, was wildly overpriced. A bouncy ball that costs $5 in the gift shop made zero sense to charge what they did. They also don't offer room service for food, which felt like a miss. One thing I noticed was how on edge the staff seemed. When I asked a few of them about it, they consistently said it was because they were being watched on camera. That's never a good sign for any organization. It took away from the customer service experience and made interactions feel less personable and way more corporate. The nighttime dance party was a blast for the kids. They had so much fun. My one concern as a parent was how close it was to the hotel's front doors. Someone could feasibly walk in, grab a kid, and walk right back out. A kid could also wander out on their own. If you're paying attention as a parent, it's not really an issue, but it's worth noting. Still, highly recommended. The waterpark was an absolute blast. There were plenty of lifeguards, and the staff did a great job keeping the kids safe. It was overcrowded though, with long lines for the waterslides, but that's pretty standard for any waterpark. The day we check in and the next day. The kids spend hours here, lots to do for them. The lazy river, kids area, pool area and water slides for older kids and adults. When they get bored with that they hang out in the arcade. They also have a fun magiquest option where you go around the hotel with a wand. Be prepared to spend lots of money here. They do have free swim diapers for babies though! The food is typical fast food, not that great but only option in the waterpark. Expensive but it hits the spot when the kids get hungry. Feel free to pack your own snacks and drinks if you are prepared. We usually just find some seats and set our stuff there, nothing has been stolen yet but they do have lockers available. They provide towels if you are staying at the hotel too. Hotel beds are not comfortable so you won't get much rest but after swimming all day you will be exhausted enough to be grateful for any bed. They do have a bar and other food outside of the waterpark area.
