The check-in experience was rough. You have to leave your car and go inside to get a parking pass, which puts you in a tough spot with kids. Do you leave them in the car? Bring them inside? And if you bring them inside, do you also haul your bags up to the room first, then walk everyone back down to the car? If you were a single parent with multiple kids, this would be a nightmare. On top of that, the lines were extremely long, and the self check-in software doesn't make it easy to buy multiple parking passes or extra waterpark passes. For those, you need a staff member to come help you. We were lucky to get Benny. Honestly, I would hire him at my agency in a heartbeat. His customer service was incredible, and he was an excellent problem solver. The hotel is lucky to have him. The room itself was beautiful and clean. No complaints there at all. The kids loved it, and so did I. The arcade, on the other hand, was wildly overpriced. A bouncy ball that costs $5 in the gift shop made zero sense to charge what they did. They also don't offer room service for food, which felt like a miss. One thing I noticed was how on edge the staff seemed. When I asked a few of them about it, they consistently said it was because they were being watched on camera. That's never a good sign for any organization. It took away from the customer service experience and made interactions feel less personable and way more corporate. The nighttime dance party was a blast for the kids. They had so much fun. My one concern as a parent was how close it was to the hotel's front doors. Someone could feasibly walk in, grab a kid, and walk right back out. A kid could also wander out on their own. If you're paying attention as a parent, it's not really an issue, but it's worth noting. Still, highly recommended. The waterpark was an absolute blast. There were plenty of lifeguards, and the staff did a great job keeping the kids safe. It was overcrowded though, with long lines for the waterslides, but that's pretty standard for any waterpark. The best part was that they let me ride the tube slides with my four-year-old and set us up in a really safe way. That created core memories for both of us. Highly recommended. Overall, I spent close to $2,000 during our three-day trip, including Great Wolf Lodge and other activities around Bloomington. I know not all of that money was spent at the lodge, but considering what we did spend there, I expected a much better experience. This was our first time visiting Great Wolf Lodge, so we were really excited. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the expectations. We rented a $200 cabana, and the service was disappointing. Our server only checked on us once for a long time. We asked for a TV remote and a life jacket for our son, and she said she would find someone to help, but no one ever came back. I eventually had to walk over to the bar myself because several employees were just standing around. What really stood out was that the service noticeably improved after we tipped her. It felt like we only started getting good service after leaving a tip, which shouldn't be the case when you're already paying extra for a premium cabana. We also ate at Campfire Kitchen, and that was another letdown. We ordered the Jalapeño Popper Mac & Cheese. Based on the menu picture, it looked like it came with multiple jalapeño poppers, but our meal came with just one. Calling it "Jalapeño Popper Mac & Cheese" when it includes a single jalapeño popper is misleading. On top of that, the mac and cheese itself wasn't good. The cheese sauce was thin and watery, practically dripping off the noodles. Honestly, boxed mac and cheese tastes better. We spent about $133 on that meal, and it definitely wasn't worth the price. Another issue was our room. We asked for a fan because it was warm. We were told a request had been put in, but after calling multiple times and even messaging Willow, the AI assistant, nothing happened. We didn't receive a fan until the third night. I would love to see Great Wolf Lodge make this right. A partial refund, a complimentary future stay, or even a food voucher would show that they stand behind the guest experience. I'm not expecting that to happen, but I do hope management takes this feedback seriously, especially since this was our first visit. Great Wolf Lodge has fun attractions for kids, but the customer service, food quality, and attention to guests didn't match the prices. Our staycation getaway spot! The kids always ask to come here for spring break and Groupon usually has a good deal around that time. We get a hotel stay and 6 waterpark tickets for two days. The day we check in and the next day. The kids spend hours here, lots to do for them. The lazy river, kids area, pool area and water slides for older kids and adults. When they get bored with that they hang out in the arcade. They also have a fun magiquest option where you go around the hotel with a wand. Be prepared to spend lots of money here. They do have free swim diapers for babies though! The food is typical fast food, not that great but only option in the waterpark. Expensive but it hits the spot when the kids get hungry. Feel free to pack your own snacks and drinks if you are prepared. We usually just find some seats and set our stuff there, nothing has been stolen yet but they do have lockers available. They provide towels if you are staying at the hotel too. Hotel beds are not comfortable so you won't get much rest but after swimming all day you will be exhausted enough to be grateful for any bed. Their big body surfing area was under renovation during our stay, so the kids were a bit bummed, but there's plenty of other things to do in the waterpark. After hearing numerous bad things about this place, we decided to give it a try anyway! There was a decent price deal going on during the time of our stay. With that being said, the prices normally are pretty steep! There is also a parking fee along with a $100 incidental(which is refunded when you check out) Initial thoughts: The decor was cozy! And we went during Halloween, so there was extra fun decor up! The space seemed clean. The staff we encountered were friendly. There are also free activities throughout the day! We checked in at 11am and left our luggage in the car. We went into the pool area and swam until 7:30pm(close is 8pm) The hotel stay comes with access to the pool right away at 10am. The pool area seemed to be clean. I saw multiple people cleaning around the pool area and bathrooms. The life guards here are young, however, I watched them all day and they seemed the best very attentive and polite. Check in did take FOREVER! They need to come up with a better system! Our room was clean, spacious and our boys loved the bunk beds! Things that could be improved: This place is a cash grab. They charge for parking, locker use, and of course things like the arcade, rock climbing wall, magic quest etc.... We did not spend any extra money except for the parking and 3 pretzels/cheese (these were $9 a piece!) There was plenty to keep the boys entertained without spending even more. (We have a 9 year old and 5 year old) My advice: *Keep your swimming gear in a separate bag and then go change. Come early if you can to maximize your time at the pool. *Pack a bag of snacks to bring to the pool. This will keep you from spending money on very overpriced items! A burger and fries "deal" was almost $20! They do have free cups of water by the towel station. *Order pizza to the hotel! It's way cheaper!! We order papa johns but I know dominos also delivers! Also, don't be that person. Go down to the lobby to get your pizza, don't make them walk up to your room. *Dont spend extra for the paws pass. And blood on one of the pillows The TV NEVER worked and kept freezing One bed was super comfortable while the other was hard as a rock! The food was worse than fast food (the restaurant in the water park area) There is far from enough parking and it's virtually impossible to win anything in the game room and the insane prices for it is ridiculous. We didn't use the waterpark because there was no way at actually finding seating. The GOOD the refrigerator and microwave worked but that's about it. read more

This was my first experience with this resort and I have mixed feelings about it. The pool area is great for the kids. Plenty of lifeguards made it feel safe for the kids. Plenty of activities for the kids. I loved the passes that give kids access to rock climbing and rope course. They have scavenger hunts, various entertainment activities for kids and plenty of food options. Entertainment wise was spot on. They really have it nailed when it comes to that. Now for the bad. The staff doesn't really know anything aside from what their specific job is at that moment. I received a lot of answers like " that's not my area so I don't know". Basic questions like where do we pick up complimentary goggles had us on our own scavenger hunt. Gift shop said go to the pool and pool said go to gift shop. This happened multiple times throughout our stay. The rooms are outdated as well and could use some updating as well. It reminds me of a room from the 90's. Took my nieces to the great wolf lodge as their "experience" Christmas present and it was definitely a hit! Unfortunately it landed on a pretty cold weekend and a lot of my other nieces and nephews weren't able to make it from out of town but the staff was incredible and kindly provided a refund since we weren't able to reschedule the booked day. Regardless we had an incredible time!! We've been to the great wolf lodge in Wisconsin dells and it is significantly smaller at the Bloomington location but it still has a wave pool, lots of tube slides as well as body slides, a lazy River, a water basketball area, and rope stepping stone thingy for little kids. The package we had actually let my nieces do the water park, climbing wall/ropes course, and bowling so we did the ropes course and played two rounds of bowling!! It was totally worth it and so much fun! They were a bit short staffed the weekend we went so many of the body slides and rock wall were closed but we had a great time regardless. We had a fantastic time at GWL. (Due to the weather, our original plans of going to Cancun changed.) Our daughters (8 and 10) took full advantage of all of the activities. We purchased the Wolf Pack. They loved MagiQuest! I didn't really understand it but they completed the game and loved it. One night we ordered pizza and it did not disappoint. We appreciated the warmer temperature in the pools:) Kiosks, charging to the room and having our bracelet to scan for purchases and to open our room was nice. A few things that were a little disappointing... 1. The water area had several slides closed for the majority of the time. (otter slides) I know the surf attraction was closed too but that didn't affect us because that is something we would not have done anyway. 2. Your life guards were 100% SPECTACULAR and super attentive; the same goes for the staff who swept and mopped common areas. With that said, I was disappointed that the food area by the pizza place and the pool area didn't seem to have many (or any) staff cleaning or wiping things down. I brought my own wipes to clean the tables when we were on the second level eating dinner. With all the kids present, it shocked me that GWL would slack in that department. 3. And really... why is Dunkin only open until noon?! Y'all would make bank if you stayed open later. We are with our children who are on the GO. We want caffeine:) 4. We thought it was a little strange that our room was never cleaned. We were there for three nights. I had to find someone in the hall to get our recycling and garbage cans emptied. 5. A gym and hot tub would be nice. 6. The kiosks in pool area didn't show tap beer so we had to track a worker down from the back to ask him if that was an option. He said it's on the screen and we told him it wasn't. He came out from behind the counter and he couldn't find it either. He was as confused as we were. 7. $20 a night to park. That's a bit much... My family got day passes at the Bloomington, MN location last month. Anyone who has been there knows it is not a cheap activity. It was a splurge. It was unfortunate that the surf simulator was closed for the entire day, with no communication about it. But the REAL problem with our visit was they tried to steal $333 for no reason at all. Upon arrival they insist that they put a $50 hold on a card to cover the cost of parking (which is $20). We were told that we would get a refund of the $30. But when I checked my bank account, there was a charge for $355!!! (This was separate than all the charges for tickets, food etc.) I proceeded to keep an eye on it for a few days because sometimes those pending charges can resolve themselves. But unfortunately, I had to spend AN HOUR on the phone and then back and forth with emails as well until they finally refunded my money. NOT ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE OR ANY RECEIPT COULD EXPLAIN WHAT THE EXTRA CHARGE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FOR. I seriously wonder if this is a scam that they do and see how often they get away with it! Everyone was really nice while we were there! Front desk people were terrific. We got a day pass; no overnight. The price was good for one day and there was a lot of fun things included in our package such as bowling (which was broken today) rock climbing, and a ropes course. We've also been to the Great Wolf in the Dells and this one is significantly smaller than that. It was also packed which definitely impacts how enjoyable things like the lazy river are. My one (big) concern is that I found a kiddo who was apparently choking on water. He'd gone unnoticed for a while by staff and when I finally flagged someone down the guard did not know what to do. He called over another person who also didn't know what to do and they both blew their whistles while I pounded on the kids back. When a guy in the orange shirt (manager?) finally came over he finally helped the kid out. First off, I'm from Hawai'i and we have some fancy hotels. I visited Minneapolis with cousins and their kids, and this place blew our minds. Never mind the negative reviews here, they seem either entitled and/or never stayed at a resort before. Service was top-notch. We bought the birthday package (two of them) and Wolf Pass (three of them). Kids enjoyed the birthday cake, ice cream, birthday utensils and decor! The ice cream and pizza that came with it was wonderful too. Also, the Wolf Pass gets them access to the ropes course, pool, watermark and MagiQuest with wands. I see people complaining that it's not 24 hours, but hey--workers need a break from screaming kids and the hotel needs quiet hours (which is a reasonable 11 PM to 7 AM time). Breakfast, although not free, is delicious and better than what I normally receive at a Westin or Sheraton. Checkout is fully automatic, which makes things even easier when you're traveling with a pack. Parking is $15 a day, which is waaaay cheaper than most resorts. Rooms are really clean, modern, and the complimentary soap and shampoo let me pack a bit lighter. Housekeeping isn't daily, but provided if you request. Do your research and you won't be in for any "surprises." Will be back again as long as my family has little kids. read more

I can't believe this business only has two and a half stars! This is my second visit here and I am amazed at all the stuff there is to do for the family and just the kids. Coloring, storytime, you name it they may have it. I visited in October of 2024 and only had a day pass. My visit then was good and I was impressed. This time I'm here staying on the property for 4 days but due to travel delays we are only enjoying three days so far it has been A-MAZE-ING! From check-in to...the activities to...the room. Its close to Mall of America which is an added bonus. The food is ok not bad but just ok and is a tad bit pricey. If you are ever in Bloomigton, MN and want to do something with the kids Great Wolf Lodge is a fun way to go! Our room is clean its a bit smaller than I expected BUT clean. The room.comes with a fridge and microwave....YAY! I added a package that came with all these additional goodies, like a souvenir cup, wands to play activities during our stay, towels and unlimited rock climbing, bowling, rope adventure and $100 food credit (not enough but it will do). read more

The staff were welcoming & friendly (as always). The water park was all in one area. Features included a wave pool, a lazy river, a small kids area, several big slides (5 body, 2 tube, and one raft slide for up to four people), and a bodyboard ride called the flow rider which I have never encountered before. There was an arcade with plenty of games and things to do. There was a miniature bowling alley. There was a Dunkin Donuts. There was also two features I had never encountered before a rock climbing wall and a rope course. The resort featured free WiFi. There was a breakfast package you can purchase for every morning you stay. It's worth it; however, I believe the breakfast buffet that comes with the package was better at the Mason, Ohio, Great Wolf Lodge. Our room was plenty big enough for the four of us (2 adults and 2 kids under 7). Our beds were comfy. We had the 2 were beds family suite. We did miss the patio/balcony that was offered at the Mason, Ohio, Great Wolf Lodge. Overall I would say this resort is great if you have older children. Like children 7 and above. There is much more to do for them. DO get the souvenir tumbler as soon as you arrive. You pay $15 for it but it's refillable for your whole stay; which saves a to. Of money on sodas. Personally I felt like this Great Wolf Lodge was a hotel with wolf themes and a water park attached. If you are looking for a more of a rustic lodge Great Wolf lodge I would try one of the other locations. Also this lodge is the first to charge parking at a rate of $15.00 a day. We purchased the deluxe room, expecting a premium experience, but were instead given a room with a dangerous view directly out to the parking lot. I would have given them 3 stars only because I've been to other parks that just seem better from the park side. I did have to leave the pool area quickly because it was over 90 degrees, by their post, and the humidity was staggering. We did have a major issue on check into our room. Cleanliness. There was long hair on the shower walls. And there were blood drops on one of the beds. All this would have given them a 1 star over this. After spending 50 years in retail I think I understand customer service and the two men working were EXCELLENT. One immediately got on the radio to housekeeping while the other gentleman was in the system getting us another room immediately. I will say though it cost a pretty penny to stay here especially if you have a big family. DISGUSTING! The room we got was nothing like the pictures online, which I assume were taken before the place even opened. The carpet was worn and had ridges all over in the room. The blinds were broken, the blanket on the bunkeds didn't even look safe to touch let alone use for sleeping, and there was a vent clip air freshener hanging from a ceiling vent. Awful, finally got checked in at 5, got situated went to the pool & slide area & got kicked out by 8.... No towels either.. would not recommend to anyone especially for the cost... one star at best, high priced & no actual value.. terrible... read more

Great place for kiddos The staff here at the front desk (at least the girl who appeared to be manager) was extremely unfriendly. But the staff at the creamery in there were super cool! There is so much to do in this place, there's a lot of staff. I just think it'd be better to have friendly staff right when you check in! You have to pay extra for parking, like 12$ a night. The cost of arcade tickets is pretty high, each game is around 10 points and I bought a package for 50$ that was like 200 points or something like that. Skiz be prepared to spend money. Also bought some candy at their candy store which was spendy. An ice cream float was 8$. It's a good thing that the cost of the room is reasonable, we paid like 125 a night and that included the water park. Water park was fun, cool boogie boarding thing there and multiple slides. I'm 40 YO and I went there with my mom who's in her mid 60s and we both did all the slides and stuff. So it's not only kids there ;)... kids at heart will still have a nice time. Clean rooms, clean interior and had a lot of cool stuff for young ones to be included in. Would be perfect for kiddos! read more

Not worth the price. $15 for parking. $18 for breakfast per person No coffee in the morning. $15 for a locker It's better to go to a smaller waterpark hotel. Way more budget-friendly and family-oriented. This is strictly a money-making tourist business, in my opinion. Waterpark doesn't open until 10am and check out is at 11am...will have to drag things back and forth from the parking lot to waterpark to change unless you want to spend another $15 for a locker. read more

Room took maybe 2 hours past the time that they said we could get in for early checkin. Got the cabana while we waited, then finally got the room, went into the water then around 3:30 pm we went up to the room and our keys didn't work anymore! Went back downstairs and it took maybe 30 mins until we were helped. Food were 2/10 at best. read more

We had so much fun here!!! We took my almost 2 year old nephew and his twin 6 week old siblings. This was our first time here, and it is very kids friendly!! All the employees were SUUUPER nice, went out of their way to help!! My nephew was really upset that I had to keep him down in the lobby so his mom and grandma could finish packing and he was crying and saying he wanted his mama (I almost started crying) 2 employees came over and asked him and I if they could help in any way (not judgmental at all!!) and then a woman came over that works there and showed him this bubble gun and that instantly made him happy, and he was doing bubbles in the lobby and I said thank you so much!!!
