This place is wonderful! Dr. Matt (Rasche) is super nice and attentive and has a great energy with…read morethe kids, as do all of his staff. They put a lot of thought into making it a nice experience for kids, starting with a playset and toys in the waiting area to a take home prize machine thingie at the end. They are excellent at lip tie and tongue tie surgery (frenectomies). Without them we'd have to have driven all the way to Chicago to help our two girls (last time I checked). They aren't pushy at all though and only give information and let the parents choose what's right for their family. They also are fun for cleanings and regular things like that. They also helped one of my adult friends get their lip & tongue tie fixed, so talk to them if that's something you're needing help with. It's not covered by insurance, though they give you paperwork that you can submit after the fact if you'd like to give it a shot. All in all this is a knowledgeable, friendly place that puts great care into keeping their patients happy and healthy.

She also provided a diagnosis as to why I had an issue that she would have the doctor confirm. I'd give her five stars because it was a satisfactory and thorough cleaning. The three stars owe to the level of care and contact provided by the dentist (Dr. Tharp). I spent only 2-3 minutes with him despite being a new patient, with whose dental needs he was unfamiliar. He looked at my x-rays, spoke briefly with the hygienist, and did a brief look in my mouth (mostly at the troubled area). He did not complete any periodontal charting nor a dental probe. It was a very brief encounter, skipping many steps that all my previous dentists have completed. I was also dismayed to see a haphazard approach by both staff and patients in common areas to mask wearing (most were not) despite still being in a pandemic, despite a small and enclosed office space with seemingly older ventilation, and despite a city-wide mask mandate where exceptions would not apply in these circumstances. I would return for the hygienist, but not for the doctor.

This dental practice is anything, but child friendly He made…read moremy two year old son cry without drilling. He roughly shoved his huge finger all over his mouth as if showing me how to brush and didn't stop even after my son began to cry. Seemed to be an unnecessary visual. I asked his hygienist for recommendations on how to help a young child with teeth brushing. I was looking for some cute songs and funny games. She proceeded to tell me how to pin down your child using your legs and arms and force the brush in his mouth. She said she did that for five years. I've never had to pin my son down to brush his teeth.

He insisted on replacing my silver fillings in my molars and sold my mom on the idea. He drilled on my molars and did not numb me enough When I cried, he kept drilling anyway even though I told him I could feel it. He replaced the silver fillings with a white filling I found out from my next pediatric dentist the white filling was not meant as a filling for molars. A year or two later the white filling had to be replaced. Some of the molars needed root canals and crowns down the road because the replaced deep fillings caused them to start cracking. Needless to say my experience with this dentist was like torture that haunts me today, and has instilled a permanent fear of dentists in me. I can't even really rate this dentist with one star but it won't let me post a review with no stars.
