My experience with Val was extremely unhappy : he had messed up my hair color twice ...when I asked him to fix it the last time - he bluntly refused , and wouldn't return my money either ! Absolute miracle workers tbh. Lena in particular is my hero for her ability to tackle my extremely long, extremely thick hair in record time. For context, I'm someone who has had salon workers who've never worked with me before take up to 2 hours on my hair; the stylist I've worked with the most could do my hair in an hour. And then there's Lena: her first time giving my hair a blow-out, it took her about 45 minutes with a bit of back-up. This most recent visit, though? 30 minutes, all on her own. Is she a wizard?? If you're like me and both (1) on a budget and (2) looking for someone who can handle a whole lot of hair, I definitely recommend the Highland Park location! If you likewise have really for real a ton of hair, I'd suggest calling ahead rather than booking online to ensure that they'll have enough time for you, especially on short notice. (Normally every appointment slot is just 30 minutes, but if you communicate with them over the phone you can work out a longer slot.) Or else you could just book with Lena directly, since apparently she's magic! As for BloOuts as a whole: pretty standard blow-dry bar, if you've been to one before. Small but classy space with a bright, airy feel. Not as chi-chi as Dry Bar, which I think is probably the most well known of this type of salon. It feels a bit less luxurious as a result, but the results are just as good and the vibe is more personal. read more

SUCH A GOOD BLOW OUT! If you are looking for an efficient blow out that doesn't compromise quality, Lena is the best of the best!! I have long full hair (extensions) and Lena gets me in and out in 30 minutes and that includes my shampoo! Lena is just fabulous... i basically stopped doing my own hair because of the convenience. I was excited about trying this place, unfortunately it was a big disappointment, I showed the stylist a picture of I wanted, left with nothing like what ai asked for but I was fine because I'm recovering from surgery It's not like I was going to a party or any event... had to wait for the cashier to check me out because she left to go to the bank, didn't even let me know or asked me if ai was in a rush. Didn't give me a receipt and then when I asked for one she said it was sent to my email, which they didn't have.... So had to ask her to check again. When I finally get it I realized they over charged me, when I called they gave me the round around.... Needless to say, I'm Not going back I will take my business somewhere else and I will make sure I share my experience with friends. Back for my annual Blo out for an event. I again saw Val and I couldn't be happier with my hair! It's super long & curly and I didn't want it stick straight. He gave it the perfect wave and it lasted! I highly recommend! Also I'm in a wheelchair and while the threshold is a bit high I can back in. Shampoo, blowout, and loose curls for my long hair was the request. The stylist spent very little time with me, didn't use heat protectant on my hair prior to curling, was very short with me when I tried to speak up about how the curling iron was burning my scalp. Had to be in town briefly for work, and the humidity had turned my head into a chia bush. They got me in on a couple hours notice on a VERY busy Friday (I suspect they are all that way in this place). Mariam is magic with a dryer and brush - totally different technique than I'm used to for a blowout, but it was fabulous and lasted three days in humid, yuck weather. Not sure if they're all that good, but I would book Mariam again in a heartbeat. Only knocking off one star because, considering the premium prices in very wealthy Highland Park, the place is super small. You have to climb across multiple dryer cords and other techs to get to the shampoo bowl and back, and the HP "native" women are NOT interested in stepping aside - little bonus lesson in local culture, no extra charge... ;-) read more

Amazing service, prompt, quick and easy. I walked out of there feeling like million dollars movie star. It is funny that little hair care gives me confidence and energy to conquer the day. The salon is beautiful and the staff is friendly, personable and always helpful! Louay is the stylist that cuts my hair and I have always been thrilled with his work! I have really thick, hard to manage hair but he miraculously tames it. No pushy sales pitch about products you need to buy, but they do sell the very best products at a reasonable price. And, I have purchased Oribe, Living Proof, etc. They are all genuine artist who enjoy seeing customers walk out feeling like a million bucks for a great price. I've been getting blow outs for the past ten years and Alyssa literally gave me the best blow out that I've ever had in my life!
