I came in for root color and toning and specifically requested a cool tone. Instead, my hair came out even more orange/brassy than before, and I had to pay another salon to correct it. When I requested a full refund because the service was not performed as agreed, I was offered only a partial refund. The owner later called me and said that even this partial refund was a "favor" because they normally don't issue refunds. She also made a point of telling me that she has a legal education, which I found particularly surprising considering her apparent lack of understanding of basic consumer protection principles when a paid service is not delivered as agreed. Very disappointing service and an even more disappointing response to a legitimate customer complaint. read more

I was told my haircut would be $55 depending on the style of my hair. I come to find out after the fact that the wash and blow dry was a separate cost and more than the haircut itself. I've never been to a place that does this. The lady who cut my hair was very sweet but I feel scammed, mistreated, and for a $130 haircut with tip for a simple basic hair trim... totally scammed. If you're willing to pay that for mediocre service, come here. I wasn't even offered a water for that kinda money. I will be disputing this charge. I came here for a blow out and I left happy with the results. The price was just what was quoted. The salon is pretty loud and seemed a little chaotic at times. The only reason I deducted a star is because my stylist was on her phone for a large portion of the time she was working on me. She explained it was something personal, but I would have preferred if she stepped away to take the call. Instead, she had the other person on speaker and at one point, facetime. I usually get my eyebrows done by Lida, she's literally the best! This time, since I was heading to Disney the same day, I decided to get a blowout too. As always, Lida delivered! My hair looked amazing, had so much bounce, and stayed perfect all day long at Disney. The best part? It even lasted beautifully through my conference that weekend. i love my hair but they quoted me $50 when i made my appointment and then charged me $115 total..not good communication at all.

I have had my hair and makeup done by the ladies at blow and glow twice now and have loved my look both times. To start off- making an appointment is easy and convenient with a simple call. The business is organized, professional leaving you at ease that you have your appointments for your event. The receptionist is very kind and accommodating! The location is in north Hollywood in a very small parking lot. I have not had a problem with parking, but can imagine it may be a problem at some point- with small, compact parking spots. The salon itself is cool and clean. There are separate areas for hair, makeup, nails, and eyebrows/wax (?), being a full service salon. There is enough space between stations where you done feel packed or uncomfortable. Regarding the stylists, they have all been great! My family and I had both up and down dues- all ending up beautiful and all timely! We were all finished at the time promised and had no issues- something very important to us. The makeup as well was exactly the photo I showed for inspo. Both girls doing makeup did such an amazing job, we heard compliments all night long. My hair and makeup stayed all day and night in the July heat. I love this salon, as do my sisters, and cannot recommend it more! read more

I have long, thick, hair that I take care of religiously, so I only trust a handful of people with it and it's hard for me to find blowouts that aren't outrageously expensive. I booked a last minute appointment here on a Friday, & the end result was worth the 30 min drive. Irina made sure that I would get what I wanted, a wash & blowout with some pretty curls at the ends. She made sure to not damage my hair in the process and was gentle yet productive given her 10 years of experience. I was out of the chair with exactly what I wanted in a hour. A bonus is that a whole two days later my blowout is still holding up! I'll be back regularly! read more

$100 for a BASIC beach wave blow dry. I guess if you're fine with paying that much, it's an ok service, but I'm shocked by the price. They said they charged me extra because I had long hair, but it would have been nice to know that at the beginning of the service, rather than at the end. When I approached the reception and shared the differing prices on the website, she said it was a "starting rate" that was listed. However, that is not visible on the website. No apologies for the lack of communication. No validation of the discrepancy. I would have been satisfied had they said "We should have told you this at the beginning of the service, but we charge extra for longer hair. I'm sorry for the lack of communication." Drybar charges only $53 for the exact same service (and the style lasts longer) so I'll probably keep going there. Ok service with TERRIBLE communication and customer care, so definitely not worth the price. read more

She was right on time, so sweet, and made me feel really comfortable. My makeup came out absolutely stunning--everyone complimented me on it! My nail tech took her time to diligently clean my nails, expose them from the overgrown skin and nurture my cuticles and a deep cut I had. The color and finish of my Russian gel Manicure was perfect. Sweet girl, but not kidding when I say this I literally came in for a blow out and the girl couldn't do my hair. True story Apparently it was too curly for her. When she finished my hair I didn't feel like it looked finished, not only that I told her several times that it looked frizzy and nicely asked is she could fix it. After she said she was done, she verbalized to me and I quote, "you know I don't specialize in blow dries. " Isn't it odd that someone who doesn't specialize in blow dries works at a place called blow and glow. And isn't it odd that she was the girl selected to do my curly hair. If I was running this business I would make sure that people who knew how to do a blow dry aka specialize in a blow dry, should be the ones working at a place called blow and glow HELLo lol that specializes in blow dry's...Sadly I don't think I'll ever want to go back just because of how unpolished she had me looking, leaveIng from the shop. This was my birthday blowout . Why didn't they put me with someone professionally trained... who is running this place?? a customer it's not my job to let the Hair Stylist know when parts are frizzy, it is her job to check before she says she is finished and make sure I do not leave with any frizzy parts. I went to get a haircut, my hair was long and I just wanted to get the simplest haircut that would cost me 35, at least that's what they told me, but when the guy was done cutting my hair, the girl at the front desk charged me 85 dollars, btw she came out of nowhere cause she was busy outside on her phone. I understand to charge a lot when they do a good job and you ask to straight, blow it and all of that shit, but I only asked to get the simplest thing. We all know every store has their own policies. When something is final sale, they usually tell you at the store, right? You would think they would tell you "deposits are non refundable" I tried canceling an appointment A WEEK before my appointment. The receptionist told me we do not return deposits. She gave me a rude answer instead of apologizing. "Well that's how deposits work" sorry no mam, that's not how they have worked for me in the past. It's not a universal policy. You NEED TO TELL YOUr CUSTOMERS. Usually salons have a grace period and they give your money back. What if I have covid? They were ok with me going so I don't lose my deposit? Instead of helping me out, they didn't give me any "salon credit" or help me change my appointment to another day. Anyways, I was not pleased but I still showed up to my appointment. The stylist was running behind so they asked me to wait "15 minutes the most" I wait outside in my car because there was no single chair available to sit on. 15 minutes pass and I come see this girl is like half way done. Like don't lie, if it's 30 minutes, tell me. I have a life too, I am not waiting for you. Instead of apologizing, making me feel comfortable, they made me feel like an idiot. They didn't give my refund, expected me to be fine with that, but if they're super late, they expected me to wait and be ok with it ??? FYI, I wanted to originally cancel my appointment because my kids were sick. Like have some compassion bro. Especially because I was not warned it was non refundable. If it was like 25$ I wouldn't care but 100$? Cmon! Whatever, I walked out because I didn't wanna spend another second there. I don't care if I lost 500$ worth of deposit. We both wore masks and they have hand sanitizer at the front when you check in. Would recommend.
