Excellent service, a beautiful set up/location, wonderful stylists, relaxing atmosphere, and great products (made by the owner!)! Very nice owner, Mary, and cosmetologists. Fun and cater to your every need (even providing you with beverages!)!!! They offer a Groupon which is a great deal! Shellac mani/original pedi. My manicurist was Jasmine. Awesome!!! Great attention to detail! LOVE my Easter nails!!! I will definitely be going back!!! My new favorite "pamper me" spot! ‍

This review is for the 90 minute massage I got at the Blow Dry Style Lounge on 12/26/17 from Greg. I saw the ad on Groupon and called and they told me that they're running a deal where if you book directly with them instead of Groupon, they'd do 20% off the Groupon price. So the 90 minute massage was $39. They could get me in the next week. I thought I hit the jackpot. Upon arriving to my appointment, Greg walked me into the massage room and shut the door. He then said, "Take off your coat so I can see what I'm working with." (exact words). That should have been my first sign to not continue with the appointment. Greg asked if he could massage my stomach during the session. I told him no because I am ticklish. He then tried to convince me by saying he's done it on other people who are ticklish and they've gotten through it. Again, I told him no. Later, while massaging my feet, he went, "Looks like you're due for a pedicure." Another strange thing was he didn't use massage oil, instead, he used large tubs of lotion labeled "MASSAGE CREAM". The massage was just OK, but he ended it after 79 minutes, not 90. To be fair, he did ask me afterwards for feedback on what I liked and didn't like. However, I couldn't bring myself to communicate how uncomfortable I was. I just wanted to get out of there ASAP. The whole thing was extremely creepy and agonizing. ***Update 1/9/18: I see that Greg wrote a Google review on himself, "Greg Graf, 1 review, 4 months ago: 'The male massage therapist is very knowledgeable, thorough and considerate. He helped me understand how the things I do in my daily life affect my body and health. I will gladly get another massage from him again. The only draw back is that it ended too soon.'"

Went here with a Groupon for hair cut, partial highlights and styling( and a free drink) .Had to call for an appointment.Service was excellent. My hairdresser helped me choose a color ...Turned out just perfect. Did a great job with the haircut and styling too. Recommend the place.

This is my "shellac" "manicure" one day after the abuse from this place. It took my regular manicurist 90 mins to clean up the mess

I share this- if you're trying to gradually move back to a brunette- this probably isn't the right salon. Below are photos after the initial service, after the correction (photos after initial service were shared with salon), and the inspiration photo. I reached out to Rooted Culture regarding my correction for advice and was told "we're not a good fit". The person delivering this message was very nice- but not what I expected. While I agree, it's left me to navigate the aftermath alone. I had a consultation with Charlie regarding what I wanted to accomplish, reviewed pinterest photos, etc. I brought a singular inspiration photo to the service appointment. I was candid about the over highlighting of my hair historically and my desire to get back to a brunette with highlights vs dark blonde with highlights (which is where I started). When my hair was dried- 1/2 of my head had more highlights than the other half. There were chunky very bright blonde pieces at the front and the distance from scalp to initial highlight was very long. I mentioned the dark roots and uneven highlights, but I slept on it. I called back to correct on Wednesday. They fit me in the following Monday- awesome. I should have slowed this appointment down- so we were on the same page. Because I was slotted between clients, it was rushed. Charlie started adding low lights- I mentioned focusing on the bangs because that was my greatest concern- the heavy contrast. Charlie then started to ask me what we should do- I told her I didn't know. a gloss was suggested. Ok sure. Charlie showed me some hair swatches- "which one?" She recommended not going below a 7, but again I told her I don't know. I'd like my hair to be more blended vs high contrast. So she mixed a 9 and 8 (was that the right choice-idk- my head was in a wash bowl). So the gloss stayed on for 4songs- 12-15mins, but was applied to my whole head vs just the bang area. I mentioned that to Charlie that I thought we were only applying to bang area., she mentioned wanting the color to be consistent. End result is the dark hair color in the photos. Again not the end of the world or blue, but nothing like the inspiration photo or my expressed desire to keep some dimension.

My stylist was able to assist with what I was looking for. I felt the process was a bit high for the level and was different than what I thought I'd selected but I appreciates that they confirmed what the process would be before moving forward. I guess maybe what I wanted was a little different than the options available on the site. I'm always a little unsure what to select when I book hair appointments online.

The staff and students were friendly, and the check-in/check-out process was easy. The tables at the hair rinse/wash stations were a little different than what I expected, but they were actually a nice setup. I had a full highlight and haircut done. The three students who worked on my highlights were all very kind, and the highlights themselves turned out well. However, the entire appointment took almost 6 hours when quoted 3 hours, which felt very long. During my visit, several students were openly talking about how many hours and days they still needed to make up before graduating in September, which felt somewhat unprofessional to hear as a client. The student doing my service seemed somewhat distracted and unsure at times about certain steps, although the work she completed was done well. There were long waits during the lightening and coloring process, and during those waiting periods no one checked in to see if I needed anything. The haircut portion was not completed by the student assigned to me because she was unsure how to do it, so the instructor, Amy, ended up finishing it. After my color was rinsed out, I still noticed hair dye left on my neck when I left. Toward the end of the appointment, the student was informed she had another client scheduled, and she became very flustered. She told me she could not blow dry my hair because she had another client waiting. By that point, I needed to leave soon anyway, but because the appointment had already run so long, I ended up leaving late and was delayed getting to another place I needed to be. I also understand this is a school and students are learning, which I do respect. However, when students are representing the school and working directly with paying members of the public, I feel there should still be professional standards in appearance and conduct. Clothing such as crop tops and athletic-style mini shorts may be fine among peers in a classroom setting, but it did not seem appropriate while providing services to public clients.

After getting a complete hatchet job of a gel manicure at Studio Z (see other review: seriously, it was a gel manicure that started cracking less than 24 hours after application because the woman who did it had NO IDEA what she was doing), I was calling around town in a panic trying to find someone who could redo my nails that afternoon. I didn't want to try to fit in a ~$150 removal/new manicure at Treasure Island the morning of my wedding, because our schedule was already ridiculous. New Concepts happened to have an opening. As soon as I got there, everyone wanted to see the original job, and confirmed it had been applied wrong--which made it take about twice as long to remove as it should have, but Katie got it off and then did it RIGHT. She explained the whole process to me as she went, which helped me retain confidence that she actually knew what she was doing, and was also interesting for future reference. When she finished up, it looked perfect, and it has now held up beautifully for a week. I even scraped my nails across several rock formations while doing post-wedding shots at the Valley of Fire, and it didn't leave a scratch. Finally, they didn't charge me anything for removing the original job--just $35 for the gel polish (gel with a manicure is $50 at New Concepts, and most places charge separately to remove gels). That was less than I'd paid for the original bad job! I normally like to change my polish color a lot, which you can't do with gel, but Katie was so nice and I'm so impressed with how well gel holds up, I'm seriously considering sticking with it from now on. If I do, I will definitely be going back to Katie!

The manicure was a little more expensive than I expected it to be but that was okay at the time. However, less than 12 hours later, my polish started to chip. I called and the receptionist was ditzy and confused as to exactly what I needed done. It was frustrating talking to her, and then when I finally got in to get my nails fixed, the stylist who was formerly friendly was cold and didn't talk to me. She did a good job fixing the chipped manicure, but I was pissed that I had to waste my own time to come back and get something fixed that should have been done right the first time. One of my nails broke four days after the original manicure and even more nails were chipping and awful looking a week later for a manicure that should have lasted at least two weeks. I will never go here again, I feel that it was a waste of money for such poor service and poor product.
