Then, she convinced me ( nudge nudge smile) to change my part to the other side and shaped / cut my hair to my face shape and styled my hair to accommodate the fine hair. She told me I would need to use silicone and sodium free shampoo/conditioner/products for best results. She was very nice and helpful! It took my huge head of hair 1.5 hours total. She said it should last around 6-8 months if taken care of. I do miss my curls some days, but super happy with the results.

On the day of my appointment, while I was already on my way to the salon, I received a call from the receptionist informing me that my appointment was being canceled last minute. Instead of offering a solution or urgency in rebooking, I was told it would be another two weeks before I could be scheduled for the same service. The only compromise offered was to split the services -- haircut one week, color the next -- which was not ideal, nor what I had booked or planned for. It was implied that the cancellation was due to my stylist calling out, and while no direct explanation was given, it happened to be the day after what I believe was their birthday -- which raises questions about the level of professionalism and planning. If something unavoidable came up, I would have appreciated an honest explanation and a sincere effort to accommodate me promptly--especially since I had already made arrangements and was en route. At the time I was working 70 hours a week and I specifically took time out of my workday to go do this seeing as I had no free time. To make matters worse, I later received an automated confirmation for an appointment I never scheduled or approved, which only added to the confusion. The stylists here are also the owners, Patrick and Kevin, which makes the lack of communication and client care even more frustrating. As business owners, I expected better accountability, professionalism, and respect for clients' time. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be returning.

Never paid that amount before. Went back to my regular girl and paid $216 with tip but that was for the works. Touch up low and high lights and haircut with blow out! Walking out the door and costing me $260 was ridiculous but when you have a place in Ponte Vedra (off Phillips) so not the upscale part of Ponte Vedra I guess you feel you can charge ridiculous prices. I was excited to try a new stylist after…read moreseeing her work on IG (Avery) and was prepared to spend more than I normally would, but I walked out feeling frustrated and like I didn't get what I paid for--especially at a $300 price point. The appointment started off uncomfortably when the stylist next to me overheard what I do for a living (title insurance) and commented that I work in "legalized extortion." Not only was this wildly inappropriate, it made me feel awkward and judged right from the start. I had a thorough consultation with my stylist and we agreed that to achieve the look I wanted--light ends contrasting with a deeper base--I'd need a full lightening service rather than the partial that was originally quoted. I agreed to the upcharge with the expectation that I'd get the desired result. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Instead of a smooth, dimensional color, I ended up with chunky highlights, a grown-out root look, and ends that are still noticeably darker than the base. It looks like a rushed job and not at all the intentional contrast we discussed. To make things worse, there are two very obvious bright white spots at my hairline where toner was completely missed. I brought this up when I got home and noticed it (Avery really should have caught them when washing or styling my hair, they're quite obvious) and the stylist did offer to fix it, but her availability didn't line up with mine. I explained that I couldn't take another hour and a half off work to come in during the week, given the 30+ minute drive each way, which she knows because we live near each other. Rather than showing understanding, she got defensive and told me it wouldn't take long and that I should reach out to the salon owner if I had further concerns. The one bright spot in all this (well, other than the 2 in my hairline) is that the haircut turned out well, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But overall, this was a frustrating experience with results I'm unhappy with and a lack of professionalism I didn't expect from a salon at this price point. I won't be returning.

I got my hair shampooed/conditioned, trimmed, and then styled. All for almost $60. On top of that, I was given some water and even a mimosa. Definitely will be coming back. I received quick/efficient service and the products used on my hair felt great. I'm excited to have found a salon here in Jax after visiting two others and not liking them nearly as much as this one! Curly haired peeps would definitely enjoy this place.

I called to see if there was any availability during my lunch break and to my surprise, there was room to get me in. Jessy is who cut my hair, and she gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. So many stylists prior to this experience talked me down off of super short layers. But I'd gotten it before and loved it; I knew it would look good on me. She took her time and though it took longer than my lunch break, I really appreciated that she was committed to my vision to the end. More importantly, she wanted to ensure I loved it post blow dry and style. I was also able to take a 5 minute work call in the middle of my cut, which some salons do not allow; so I was also appreciative of the flexibility in allowing me to take it without headphones so last minute. If you need a cut, I highly recommend giving this salon (and Jessy) a chance like I did!!

By December 2021, my hair had finally grown out a bit, but came in much darker than it had been previously. It was depressing! I read about Hidden Hills on Next Door and then checked out their website, which includes info on each stylist. I decided to book an appointment with Vanessa, because she is from SC, same as me, and it seemed we had some things in common. Vanessa highlighted my very short hair and gave it a little trim to shape it up. When Vanessa washed out my hair and pulled the towel off, I saw myself in the mirror, looking more like the "real" me than I'd seen in almost a year! I shed a few tears and pretty sure Vanessa did too. Yesterday I went back to Vanessa for another highlight and trim. My hair had grown a LOT, but my roots needed help! Well, Vanessa did it again! It took longer to do the highlights this time since my hair was longer, but Vanessa patiently painted the solution onto my hair and wrapped it in foils. Once again, Vanessa hit a home run! It's going to take a long time for my hair to get back to its previous shoulder + length. But every day I feel closer to the "old" me, and Vanessa's expertise is a big part of that! Going through something traumatic like cancer is one of the hardest things I've ever done. I feel blessed to have found a friendly and caring hair stylist like Vanessa.
