Came here on a summer Friday for lunch. Place was nice and serene in an excellent location on the water. Service was great and the food was on the better end of pub food that I've had, though nothing memorable. Music was also slightly too loud but not much to complain about. We stopped by for dinner on a lovely night in October. We are inside because of the cooler weather but the view was beautiful! I was surprised when we both ordered Diet Coke/Pepsi that we got cans. It has a fairly large bar. I ordered the scallops. Ugh. Deep fried but watery. Frozen far too long, I would guess. Their Caesar salad and rice accompaniment was fresh and tasty. My husband had the day's special, which he was happy with. However, the pie, included, was just blah tasting Frozen and thawed? In summary, no food expectations but lovely view. read more

Nothing special about the restaurant except the location , food and service. Location is worth the drive from Ottawa. The food is by no means cheap but the perch roll is worth every penny of $25.00. Well well well what have we here... A very positive review for the Blue Anchor in Cornwall, Ontario. Yay! I'm a fan! The Blue Anchor is located right on the water and has a gorgeous view overlooking. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly and professional. We made a lunch reservation (we were a group of 8 or 9). When we arrived we were warmly greeted and they had a table all set up for us ready to go. Right away drink orders were taken with proficiency and accuracy. Same thing for our meals. Our lovely waitress Emilly made our experience that much more pleasant. She friendly, accomodating, attentive and was on top of our orders (in and out). Everything was accurate and timely. No mayem, no errors, no BS, just a great lunch out with my gals! The menu was interesting and offered a lot of good options, everything from burgers to fresh fish to salads to deep fried pickles. I had the beef dip and fries and it was so good. I would have it for lunch again today if I could. A number of us commented that the portions were plentiful - a plus when you were as hungry as we were! None of us live in Cornwall and Blue Anchor was our lunch destination. Having moved to Glengarry more than 15 years ago, we were looking for a nice casual place to get some good food and a cold beer. Can't remember how we discovered the Blue Anchor - whether it was recommended or we just stopped in. Anyway, we have been regular patrons since then and have never been disappointed. Service is always friendly and the food always good. Whether we order Perch, Wraps, Burgers or the Special of the day - the meal is always tasty. The outside patio is lovely in the summer and very busy. Whenever we have out of town guests, this is the go-to place for a casual lunch or supper out. read more

We decided to come here with my sister and her family because she recommended it. I'm glad we did. It is a beautiful restaurant by the water and we decided to eat on the patio (we got to see many ships pass by). I had the perch roll with fries and it was delicious. My wife had the fish and chips and the piece of fish was big. The waitress did put in the wrong order for me and it came later. Everyone was pleased with the food. However the waitress seemed distracted. She forgot my brother in law's beer and we had to remind her 3 times for a box for my niece's food. The price was reasonable. read more

I'd give ZERO stars if that were possible. This is by far one of the worst dining experience I've ever had. I had ordered a simple cheeseburger and fries, my two friends ordered a salad and the other had some pasta. I didn't receive my fries and burger together. They gave me the fries first, before anyone else had their food. They then give me my burger about 10 minutes later after all my fries are about gone. The bun is very stale and I make an attempt to eat the side that wasn't as bad but to no avail. The whole thing was pretty much like that. At this point I'm halfway through my entire meal before my friends get what they order. At that point I had enough. You don't come to a restaurant with friends to not all eat at the same time. I made a complaint to the waitress and she then got the manager who's tone and body language wasn't friendly what so ever. I calmly stated my problem and that I was very dissatisfied with my service. The wait time, not eating together with my guests, and the stale food. I then said the burger wasn't edible and I wasn't willing to pay for it. He then gets mad and pretty much demands I pay for the burger he said something along the lines of "I'm not wasting good food because you don't like it" I then proceeded to tell him to go fuck himself, I only ate about 1/4 of it and I'm not paying for a stale burger. I was willing to pay for the fries but he was such a jackass I didn't say that. He says oh yes you will, goes back behind the bar to talk to the wait staff while pointing aggressively in my direction. I didn't come to this place to be bullied around by some jerkoff manager so I just got up and left without my friends, they understood and said they didn't blame me. I sat in my car for 45 minutes until my friends came. There was no attempt by this guy to stop me from leaving, but my adrenaline was so high at that point by the treatment I has just received I probably would have taken a swing at him. I will never go back to this place and I encourage anyone who does to walk up to the manager and piss in his face read more
