Very good fine dining option for the area. Standouts were prime rib and lasagna. Went with big group, reservation required. Better than other options in area which are mostly hamburgers and other bar foods.

The service was great but the food was not seasoned and lacked flavor. For the perceived scale it didn't deliver the date night we were hoping for.

I don't usually rate anything with five stars but we had a spectacular dinner here last night. The restaurant is large and beautiful and we were welcomed by the owner whose name is Emina. She is lovely and also makes the desserts. I ordered a special cocktail called A Texas sipper. It was made with Tito's vodka (my favorite), as well as elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice and club soda. boy was it ever good! We started out with a delicious New England clam chowder soup, which came with the dinner. We asked to split a Caesar salad which was served to us on two dishes and it was fresh and flavorful. My husband ordered a shrimp cocktail containing four enormous shrimp and was so good, I know because I ate one. We decided to have our annual meat serving and so we ordered steaks and boy were they ever good. I had mine with a baked potato which was baked to perfection in the old-fashioned way, served with butter and sour cream. My prime rib was so huge I couldn't fit in dessert. My husband decided to order his dessert to go and it was a lemon type cake and so so good. This is a wonderful old school restaurant that is great for special occasions (it was my husband's birthday). It is somewhat pricey but so worth it.

What a great spot! The fish dishes were amazing and the ambiance is great. I had stuffed sole and it was delicious. They rest of the crew had fish specials. Haddock shrimp and scallops. Great prices. Staff was very nice as well. We are in the off season so it was quiet but I can see this place being very busy. So I recommend a reservation.

After approaching a waiter, he mistakenly assumed we were part of a 14 person group. After about 15 minutes, he called us to that large table. We immediately questioned it and asked where our reserved table was. Only then did he realize his mistake and told us our table had already been given to someone else. We never sat down. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to fix the situation. We were left standing in the middle of the restaurant with no guidance. The worst part was the bartender or server's behavior. She said that at some point we would be seated, but if we were not happy, we could come back another time. She said this smiling, with irony and disregard, as if delivering good news. She then went back to the bar smiling, ignoring us while repeatedly glancing at us, which felt dismissive and mocking. There was no manager present and no one took responsibility. No one explained what would happen next or showed any intention of correcting the mistake. We left and went to Peak 47, where we had the same prices, much better food, and truly professional service. The contrast could not have been clearer. Reservations clearly mean nothing here. Unprofessional staff, no accountability, and a complete lack of respect for customers. Avoid this restaurant.

It wasn't an ideal situation but it was our fault for not having an advance reservation since we just got into town when we stopped by. Pricing seemed higher than what we're accustomed to coming from nyc and Long Island but the food was good and portions were large. It's a very rustic feel inside with dim lighting.

We spent the week in Lake Placid for Spring Break, and we could not have been more happy to find this place, especially since we had our dog with us. Lisa G's feels like the kind of place you wish you had back home. We sat out on the porch with a perfect view of the water and our golden retriever happily at our feet. That alone would have been enough, but the food made sure we stayed awhile. We started with the wings. These are true buffalo wings. Not breaded, just well sauced and done right. We also ordered the cheese treat and it completely stole the show. Feta, spices, and jalapenos over fresh arugula, scooped onto toasted bread. It is one of those dishes where you keep saying just one more bite until suddenly it is gone. For dinner we tried the shrimp tacos, which have quite a reputation. As Texas people we were a little unsure about the pineapple salsa, but it works. Bright and just sweet enough. The slaw is mellow and tangy and ties everything together in a way that feels thoughtful rather than trendy. The fish and fries surprised us the most. Easily the best fish and chips we have had in years. Real haddock with a light crisp fry and a rich house made tartar sauce that does not play second fiddle. Chance said he usually only likes fish and chips for the fried part, but here he actually liked the fish itself. That tells you everything. The fries are the kind you keep reaching for long after you are full. Our teen ordered the burger and it disappeared before we could negotiate a bite. Former picky eaters do not lie. We tried the Julian cocktail, which drinks like a confident mai tai. The riesling missed the mark a bit. Next time we would go for the sauvignon blanc or the house white. The service felt like the best version of small town hospitality. Warm, easy, and full of good local recommendations. Our pup loved it. We loved it. We will be back. --Chance and Becky All Ahead Slow
