This was our first time playing Blue Ash. It's a difficult course for even a good player. I am a beginner playing from the red tees and I was playing at a reasonable pace but the ranger harassed my group multiple times throughout the round urging us to play faster. We were not holding the group behind us up. The course is challenging, beautifully manicured but the entire experience is ruined by the incompetence of the clubhouse staff and rangers. They are rude, unapologetic and unprofessional. I have never received such treatment at any other golf course. My recommendation would be to completely avoid this golf course and spend your money elsewhere. They don't know how to treat a paying customer. If you like to be harassed multiple times per round by a rude ranger then by all means go to Blue Ash. The management and staff needs to learn that this is a service industry. After spending $100+ in green fees and $40 in food people expect to be treated with some respect and not harassed every 3 holes to play faster. What a horrible experience! Never EVER again. The bar staff were awesome and stayed after for our group to enjoy a drink. The starter was a bit of a tool though. He acted like we all had carts and wasn't gonna give another cart. It seemed like they were more worried about their carts than the people driving the carts. Maybe they should just put the carts in a showroom somewhere, since they're so valuable, and bring out some carts that can be used. I've had a drivers license for 20+ years. Based on the other reviews i've read, it seems that whoever is running this place does not know how to hire competent staff. This experience was the opposite of what golf should be. I have been playing Blue Ash for years, as well in their golf leagues. Lots of my money has been spent on this course. While the clubhouse staff has been great. Unfortunately, their starters and those who patrol the course ruin the experience. My latest experience involving the starter came at the 7th hole. My friend and I were playing at a good pace. In fact, we slowed down because there was a group of walkers in front that we didn't want to feel hurried and no one on the last two holes behind us. Rather than coming up and politely asking us to hurry up (which was uncalled for anyways given our pace). The starter proceeded to raise his voice and tell us to hurry up without asking any questions or any consideration. Back at the clubhouse, he proceeds to yell at us again for sitting by the clubhouse while we counted our scores and made way to go pay for another round. This could have been a different experience if he would have started the conversation in a cordial matter. If it wasn't for the money I have paid for our league, I would not be returning anytime soon. read more

Course is fantastic, but be prepared to be harassed by the ranger if you're not playing par or +1 per hole. This type of behavior from the management is hard to excuse given the course is usually busy, meaning you are already waiting at each tee box and it's a public course. Overall, would not recommend - there are better courses for less money and way less harassment. read more

I am a new Blue Ash resident and played the course for the first time today. Really enjoyed the course, which was in great shape. My ONLY reason for the 2 star review is the treatment my group received from an employee ( I believe Tod) who harressed us at the turn. Our group stopped for hot dogs and burgers which were delayed because he grill ran out of propane. The employee came out and literally yelled at our group for taking too much time at the turn. THIS IS A SERVICE INDUSTRY we were spending money on food after dropping $200.00 on golf. PLEASE BLUE ASH you have a great facility, hire good people! read more

First time playing here ... without question not my last (Lord willing). :) The course is challenging yet fair; and the conditions were amazing. Tip of the cap to the staff ... and I mean EVERYONE. This really is a beautiful golf course but as others have mentioned the management is horrendous. The carts have literally stopped moving and cut power even when we were no less then 20 ft off the cart path. The starters and marshals may have close to zero social skills or any ability at being kind to those who use their course. We were told we were "5 minutes of pace" mutiple times and I asked the man how was his day just to make some small talk and be nice. He simply grunted and drove away. I would really like to come back to this course due to the gorgeous maintenance but I have zero desire if it's continued to be managed the way it is. read more

Love this course and the facility but I have had terrible experiences with the starters at blue ash as of late. This is very unfortunate as I have been a loyal patron for the past 5 years and am also in the Monday Night League. They really need to tone it down A LOT. If I am paying $52 to play some golf I am not also purchasing unnecessary and unfair confrontations from the staffers. Do better, Blue Ash. read more

Highly maintained course! This course is a pleasure to play at because they take great care of it! The greens/fairway/tee boxes were all taken care of. The grass was cut to an appropriate lengths. Also, the appearance was wonderful. The club house looks brand new and was very nice on the inside. All workers were very nice to us while we were there and made sure we were taken care of at all times. Great course! read more

These people will not let a single book over the phone. They'd rather you go someplace else. The only course in America that shuts your cart down in the rough on the course. They are cart nazis. Never seen anything like it at any other course. read more

Made my tee time for $46 per man, charged $56 upon arrival at the course. Changed to summer rates and would not honor my price as shown on my phone. Also did not mention they had aerated the greens four days earlier so greens were in sad shape. NOT a good way to run a business. Pace of play was slow and ranger did nothing to help speed up play. Very tough course but it is well kept. The initial check in was great and Dave was super friendly but the rest of the staff was super rude and was no help at all with getting started. I've been playing this course on and off for over 10 years. I will never be back, and I only live minutes away. Ever since they built the event center, something has changed with the way the course operates and who it hires. Personal example below. Worst on course staff I have ever had interactions with in my life! Incredibly rude starter and marshals. We were first told there was a 45 minute wait, when only 3 groups were on the teebox. Really was a 15 minute wait. Then got told by a marshal to hurry up and hit on another tee box after waiting for him drive 1 mph towards us when there was a group in the fairway! No water for players on course except foul tasting, warm water fountains. No driving range. Packed with leagues. Course should go private if they don't want people to walk on and play, all the while giving people attitude for paying to play their public course. Not worth the money when they charge for what much better courses in the area do with more accommodations an accommodating staff. read more

First off the place is beautifully kept, however it is at the expense of the enjoyment of the golfers on the course. We teed off excited to play a high quality public course, after paying $50 and ready to get in a great round. The first hole was great, there was an industrial leaf blower on the fairway. At first I appreciated the fact that they were up-keeping the fairways! Only to our dismay, 2 hours later on the 9th hole the same guy in the golf cart and blower was still following us around! This was EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! Every golf course that I've played on in the past, the grounds keepers have been very respectful and quiet when you are hitting shots. At Blue Ash every shot I took on the front 9 the sound of this blower was grating. I can't believe I paid $50 to be followed around by a guy with a leaf blower for 2 hours. The back 9 was excellent. It's a shame the experience has been tainted by the disrespect of an oblivious grounds keeper on the front 9. read more

my wife and some friends played the course some weeks ago. One of the ladies in the group was approached by a ranger and felt intimidated and harassed by slow play. She was so upset, she quit playing. The reviews often state negative comments about your rangers. You need to do something to improve customer service. I played several years ago and marshals checked my receipt 3 times before I teed off! read more

Blue Ash golf course is one of the best deals on golf inside the 275 loop. It is well maintained, has a large pro shop, restaurant/bar and a beautiful reception area upstairs. I've seen a few wedding in my time playing here and know a few friends that have gotten married here as well. The only downside is that this course is really long and hard. That could be a good thing, if you're looking for something challenging, but its not for the faint or heart (or novice golfer). However, for $21 with a cart this place is still a great place to practice your skills. I'll also add a note that this place is always packed. It seems like a lot of locals play often and the rangers frequently circle the course to make sure you're keeping up with the speed of play. I'm a go with the flow person but this can seriously screw up the game of some nervous golfers. The funny part was in my last round (on father's day, arguably the most crowded day of the year on a golf course) the ranger came by four or five times and never said a word to us, about our speed or offering water on that hot day. I'll definitely be back. It's worth the frustration of a high score for that course and price. read more

This course is the best maintained public course in the area at least from what I have seen and really gives the feel of a private course. All the tee boxes are soft, prices are very fair and competitive, and pro shop people are really nice. Golf carts have built in gps which is quite useful. Overall my favorite course in the area. I believe this is the best public course in Greater Cincinnati. Well maintained greens, fairways, and tee boxes. Employees are really good, helpful and nice. If you are a slow player or have played only a few times, the rangers will likely ask you to play faster. I see some other reviews criticizing the rangers for doing this. I appreciate the rangers for this. It is really frustrating waiting on a group in front of me on every hole when I see a full hole or two between that group and the next group in front of them. If you play really slow, I suggest you try another course. read more

Beautiful course but you can be the only ones here and you still have workers trying to make you move faster. There wasn't a group behind us and they still were telling us that people were complaining. We finished in 5 hours with pace of play. Bunch of old folks that think this is still their country club. One of the best public courses in Cincinnati. Always in great shape. People in shop and rangers are very nice and helpful.
