We went for the Platinum wash, as we picked up a lot of bugs on our summer drive across Nebraska. The "soft touch" option was $15 and quite possibly one of the longest, most relaxing car washes I have ever been in. You sit idle as a washing contraption glides over your car. The first few passes of the scrubbers are light and increase as the wash progresses. A voice announces each phase of the wash. Once complete there is a 60-second timer to count down your dry time as you leave the bay. I stopped before getting back on the road and we came out mostly bug free!

I'm not blaming Southside, I'm just pointing out that this particular type of carwash won't get your car completely clean. On the back window, I could the dirt where the wiper doesn't reach and on the wheel wells and bottom of the car still have some dirt. Again, this is just where the technology is, if you want a really good washing I would advise using one of the self-service bays or some other carwash that scrubs these areas. Water jets don't really do the trick.
