We had accidentally gotten into a grass sand trap without realizing, and then after a guy came out and started swearing at us up and down and after we were done talking with him, he called the guy that works at the clubhouse, and the guy drove out on a golf cart and didn't even want to hear our side of the story and he took the golf cart key and told us to get off his course would not recommend going in a grass trap read more

Played here twice now. We liked the course ok. Its a little challenging and unforgiving for beginners, lots of holes where you cant see the flag. Greens in decent shape. Prices are high for the carts and hand carts, both of which are in poor condition. The hand carts particularly. Both times we went it wasnt too busy, didnt need tee times. Another complaint is that several parties we observed werent really following ettiquette or course protocol, hopping around from hole-hole instead of working the course as intended, i dont know if these were 'members' or 'friendly locals' or what, but i found it bothersome. The front desk has a sign saying cash preferred as their CreditCard connection relies on a feint cellular signal. No par 5's. The 8th hole 'gully' is a ball-eating monster. I'd play here again. read more

We held an event at their event space and it was such a great place for our party. Cute little front room, with an enclosed back patio, a lounge space upstairs (clearly intended to be a perfect space for bridal parties to get ready), and a built in selfie nook. Our 50-60 guests fit comfortably at tables in the front room, and we could've easily fit more given the back room space. You can provide your own food/booze for your event although they require you to have bartenders to serve your booze. read more

My brother and sister in law got married at this venue at the management and staff were truly awful. My family had been promised that day-of there would be no golfers during the wedding because we had rented the space. Sure enough, mid-vows there's golf carts driving everywhere. My brother struggled in his vows because he heard golf balls coming this way. The management lady kept saying, "oh yeah, they'll all be gone soon!", and they weren't. They were there the entire time. Not to mention there was a horrible ant problem that they failed to mention, so everyone had ants up their dresses/pants the whole day. Overall, the staff was rude, disengaged, and unhelpful. On many levels we felt lied to for a lot of things. Highly suggest not having your event/wedding here. read more

Let it first be known that I am not a golfer. In fact, I had never touched a golf club until last Friday when I attended our annual company golf outing but let me tell you, I'm glad this year it was held at Blue Boy West. As someone who has never played before, who doesn't know the rules or the correct etiquette, I appreciated that this place is very casual and laid back. The front desk/cafe area is melded into one under an A-frame building which is where we sat to wait for everyone to arrive. It wasn't fancy, but I didn't think it was run-down either. Between the older man behind the desk and the woman shifting between waitress and cook, it felt a little like you were with family members and not golf club employees. Not once did I feel like a dummy for not knowing how to hold a bag of clubs or calling something by the wrong name -- everyone was pretty darn friendly. Being as this was my first time playing, I didn't have much to compare it to, but the course seemed nicely laid out with a fair share of both easy and difficult holes. For being a small place, it looked like it was taken care of pretty well and even the other patrons not part of our group were really friendly and unpretentious. If I were to ever want to play a course again, then I'd like to come back here. It was comfortable, fun, and friendly and needless to say, everyone had an excellent time. read more

After living in Monroe for the past 5 years I finally took the opportunity to golf at Blue Boy West a couple weeks back. With two small children, full time work and school, a house to maintain, and an amazing wife, I don't get much play time by myself. I'm also quite the duffer so I can really appreciate a laid back feeling at certain courses. The grounds are very inviting, parking ample, and beer is cheap. This course provided a good challenge, especially hole #2 with a stump in the middle of the green, water on one side of the hole, a sand trap in front, and no room to hit long. The fairways and greens were kept in excellent condition for an inexpensive public course. Overall I was pleased with the course and I'm sure I will play it again sometime. read more

I have had the pleasure of having two events at the Blue Boy Event Center the last two weekends & I would recommend this venue for any kind of event. Our Company Holiday Casino Party was so fun and we were supplied with a wonderful bartender. Working with the staff at Blue Boy has been very easy and they are always helpful. The venue has all the tables and chairs so you do not have to rent them & they can supply a bartender at no extra cost. There are many benefits that are part of your rental price and it is such a beautiful place. Last night was my sister's wedding and we had approximately 88 people attend and it was perfect. If you were to need an outside wedding or party venue during the spring or summer, this is such a great location and the grounds are manicured and pretty for photos. If you are looking for Rustic and Elegant charm this is the perfect place as it has endless possibilities and is very beautiful. read more

We had an amazing Halloween Party at the Blue Boy West Golf Course and Event Center. The venue is beautifully renovated and the back deck that overlooks the perfectly groomed golf course has been completely enclosed for added indoor space . The indoor space easily accommodates 150 guests, and tables and chairs are included. We had a DJ booth set up so our guests could dance, we brought in a photo booth with props for snapshots, and were allowed to bring in our own foods and snacks. The rental prices of the venue are very reasonable and the staff is great. There is plenty of parking on site. Highly suggest checking out this venue for parties, weddings, receptions, bridal showers, baby showers, memorials, wakes, Quinceaneras or any other gathering that you are looking to host. read more

Challenging enough course, I play it once or twice a year for the past 5 when friends put together an outing. Layout of hazards and terrain is nice. Main complaint is they don't maintain the grounds. The cages where you can loosen up before your tee time...broken down, ratty and looks like crap. Pieces of old carpeting as a backdrop because the netting is torn or missing. The wood platforms are nothing but termite feces and shredded outdoor carpeting from the Johnson administration. Only 1 restroom and at the 9th tee. Why even bother? Never any paper, bldg looks ready to fall in on itself...hasn't been touched since I've been coming here. No wonder the bushes all smell like piss. Ball wash stations? Good one Fred. If they are out at all the towels are shredded to death and just plain swampy, skunky smelling mosquito breeding water in there. Our group traditionally goes on Memorial Day, so you'd think that the holiday weekend at the early season the place would be spiffed up. The cafe has been going downhill since too. This year the only option was a hot dog machine with barely warm dogs and chips. At least they will nuke it for you. Pity. Such potential but letting the elements take over and eventually it will return to the earth from whence it came. I think I'll skip our annual fun tournament next year. A hike in the woods is a better way to spend my day. I'm feeling generous today so I'll give them a 2 star. read more

This is probably one of the best 9 hole courses that I have ever played at. It is small (no par 5's) so you can actually leave the big dog at home (though you can use it on a few holes) The fairways are always well kept, the greens are in good condition (and very challenging) It's nice that the guys that run the place don't do it for the $$$. During the week you can play 9 holes for 15$, and it only jumps up a buck or two on the weekends. So it saves you some cash from the typical $40 to play at Snohomish, Kenwanda, or Flowing Lake. All in all it is a good place to come out after work and play 9 holes (it only takes 1.5 hours) Be careful off the 1st tee box due to the fact the parking lot is slightly to the right (don't slice righties) and the woods that border the fairways will engulf any errant shot, so make sure to hit straight (like it is so easy right?) read more

My husband and I had our wedding at the Blue Boy West Golf Course and Event Center and we couldn't have been more pleased! The setting is gorgeous and a great backdrop for wedding photos. The newly renovated Event Center is perfectly appointed, has hardwood floors throughout and beautiful chandeliers. We especially enjoyed the fully enclosed Sundeck that overlooks the golf course, the scenery is very enticing. The Bridal Suite is gorgeous, spacious and separate from the main event area, it was the perfect space for getting ready with my Bridesmaids, and it overlooks the picturesque outdoor wedding area. The Groomsman's Room is a cabin of its own, it was the perfect spot for the guys to hang out and get ready for the ceremony. Blue Boy's prices are very competitive and reasonable, and include tables and chairs. We would highly recommend the Blue Boy West Golf Course and Event Center to anyone needing a venue for any special occasion, the facility is very versatile. read more

We decided to give Blue Boy a try on a beautiful Saturday in February (yes February). Driving up to the clubhouse was nice. It's a pretty place. The course was pretty good for being in February condition. read more

My husband and I played Blue Boy this past week taking advantage of a rare weekday off from work. We enjoyed the pretty drive out to the course and the front nine. Unfortunately we locked our keys in the trunk of the car while stowing our clubs. The owner of Blue Boy, Ernie, was amazing. After a failed attempt by AAA to help (don't EVER lock your keys in the trunk - just take my word for it) he actually lent us his car so we could drive home to get our spare keys! We love supporting small business owners in the area and experiences like this renew faith in our sense of community. Go play a great round of golf at Blue Boy, enjoy a burger and fries (fries were particularly yummy), say hi to Ernie and count yourself lucky to live in the great Northwest. read more

I have called monroe home my entire life and I've been a golfer for my entire life. I traveled for work for the past 10 years and played golf courses in 35 different states and 5 different country's. I have to say blue boy is one of my favorite courses I've ever been to. It's not a long course at all, the par 4's at their longest are 310 yards and the par 3's average 130 with the max of 160 yards. But don't let that fool you into thinking blue boy is a easy pitch and putt type course. With tight fairways and small greens you need to be pretty a curate with every hole having tree lines or a boundary fence on both sides every hole. You can lose a ball on every shot here between the trees, ponds and ob fences so it's a fun challenge. The staff in the club house are excellent and will never be arrogant and have their stuffy noses in the air like a lot of other places. They appreciate every single customer from the local usual suspects to the first time beginners. They Have THE Best Yearly Pass You Can buy. I bought the year of unlimited golf for $700 which is good for all day every day. With the new drainage ponds it stays as dry as possible for our part of the country. The pace of play is literally the best I have ever seen with my average 18 hole round being 3 hours and 10 min playing in a foursome and don't be surprised if it's quicker. It's worth the drive to do it at least once and especially if you have a new set of irons or wedges to break in. read more
