I had my second lesson there last weekend. I went early in order to use a bay to practice before the lesson. I told the front desk I had never used the bay before and asked if they could set me up in one and show me how to work it. He gave me the absolute bare minimum, did not test if it worked, and left to sit at the front desk on his phone. After a number of failed attempts to record a swing and asking the front desk for help two other times I gave up. They had zero interest in helping a new customer set up in the bay. They offered almost zero instruction. At one point after noticing the bay was set up for a left hander (how would I know ?) he changed the camera and left. Then I asked again for help as it still did not work and then he came back and he shrugged his shoulders and said, well sometimes the software just doesn't work..... Really ? Isn't that the whole point of using this place ? Anyway, that is the last time I use a bay. The good news is my instructor was early and all set up and I had a great lesson. She is quite adept at explaining and conveying how to make adjustments. I am excited to work on those issues. read more

I have never thought I would write a review for golf , let alone take a lesson ! After trying to self master golfing for 2 decades, I accepted my failure and headed to the PNW golf center for an initial assessment. I met with Jeff who is super personable and great at teaching. One might question why it is so expensive but then again it is not like all online lessons are applicable to everyone. A good coach is someone who can tailor teaching to an individual while fully considering one's capabilities AND desires. I ended up buying a 5 lesson package plus 30 hour range time. The point here is, I don't want people to be discouraged by the lesson fees. Jeff is there to help me get better so I can enjoy golfing more. Instead of suggesting me to take twice a week lesson for 2 months, he recommended that I practice enough between sessions. If you are not sure if this whole indoor lesson is for you, you should just stop by and talk to Jeff or any of trainers there. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating so I will make sure to come back and update after I take all 5 lessons. I had my first taste of a Trackman simulator at PNW Golf Center. And I've got to say, it's amazing. It gives you the club head speed, ball speed, club path angle, face angle, etc. They even send you a post-session report with your every shot and the slow-mo video clip, so you know exactly what your swing looks like. I'd argue that's far better than hiring a golf instructor at a normal driving range! Plus the check-in process is quick and easy, the staff are friendly and helpful. I have taken many lessons over the years from good teachers but nothing matches up to my experience here. Tanner is a amazing teacher and has a great way to explain a complicated swing. The Trackman system has measurements that are critical and I have not seen this on other systems. The items I am referring to that work for me now is swing path, club face angle and bottom of swing. This place is great. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here. It's a really nice facility to get in some practice and get instant feedback from their Trackman setup - and they'll email you the data and video captures from your session. I've also had some club work done - a club reshafted and the entire bag regripped. I also had a retrofitting done which led to having my clubs bent to a flatter lie angle. They've been super easy to work with from the fitting to ordering the shaft and grips to the work itself. I'm probably a little high maintenance when it comes to my clubs, but they've been super patient and have worked with all of my requests. Took my first lesson at PNWGC back in September 2021 and finished my second lesson earlier today (both with Tanner). As someone who is completely new to golf, Tanner did an excellent job of instilling solid fundamentals in my swing, which left me with a great roadmap to continue improving my game on my own after the lesson. Tanner's instruction is calm, collected, encouraging, and informative. I'm someone who can get stuck in their own head a lot, but Tanner's approach really helped put my mind at ease and keep me relaxed throughout the lesson. Fast forward four months to my second lesson, and my experience was just as great as my first. We focused on one particular aspect of my game, and at the end of the 45 minute lesson, I was already seeing some tremendous progress. Another great aspect of Tanner's instructional approach is that he has his clients detail what they learned from the lesson in their own words at the end, then he types up those notes, adds in his own thoughts/tips, and goes over everything together with you. Plus it's great knowing that I'll have access to those notes and all the Trackman stats from the lesson available to review online whenever I need to refer back to them. Another fantastic quality of Pacific Northwest Golf Centers that really stood out to me was their direct, up-front approach to pricing. The price of every service they offer is clearly detailed on their website. There are no surprise costs or fees, and I didn't feel pressured by Tanner (or anyone else) to sign up for more lessons after I finished my first one. They'll of course encourage you to come back for more lessons, but unlike some other golf lesson studios, they're not going to unload an aggressive, pressuring sales pitch on you or try to strong-arm you into purchasing more of their services, which I really appreciated. Whether you're a complete beginner to golf (like me) or someone more experienced who's looking for some help in any aspect of their game, I would highly recommend giving PNWGC a try. They have fantastic instructors, a great facility, and their Trackman tech works perfectly. I enjoyed my first two lessons so much that I just decided to purchase a 5 Lesson Package with Tanner. As a beginner, EVERYTHING about golf feels intimidating and daunting; the clubs, the swing, the rules, etc. I've tried a few times in my life to "get started", but I always fizzled out because of how busy I was and how impossible things seemed. It always felt like I was supposed to climb a mountain by absorbing everything at once(get to the top immediately). I've only had a few lessons and practice sessions so far, but Jeff and team have been incredibly supportive and friendly. I had an incredible club fitting experience with Peter who I've been taking lessons from for about 1.5 years. I went into the fitting pretty certain about the type of club I would end up but was shocked and pleasantly surprised by the results. Peter's prior knowledge of my swing and my development trajectory seemed very helpful quickly finding the right club for me. I have had the pleasure of being instructed by Peter Birkner. I have a low index and it is tough to find a coach who can delve into my swing and make the needed changes. Peter has incredible insight and can pinpoint very quickly what faults need to be tackled. More importantly, he demonstrates drills that are simple and informative. Jeffrey and Tanner are so nice and helpful and warm. The facility is great to practice in with all the trackman technology and video stuff. I was surprised at how much you can learn about your swing plane by watching the replay right after hitting it. The facility is nice (a bit chilly for me). I wish they gave a few more balls and I wish it was a tad bit cheaper for the practice rate, but it's a great option to have. A must have resource for any new or avid golfer! read more

Tanner and Jeff are great guys and their facility uses up to date Trackman technology. After 10 days of snow on the ground I was dying to get some reps in. I ran across their business and decided to check it out. I enjoyed myself so much after my first visit I went back the next day. Both Tanner and Jeff were so helpful and spent sometime giving my buddies and I a few tips on our swings even though we were there to practice and didn't take a legit lesson. These guys really know how to take care of people to build lasting relationships vs just try and hard sell you on extra stuff/extra services. Their prices are more than reasonable for the services and the technology they offer. I will no doubt be going back again and would recommend their place to anyone who plays golf. read more

I take a few lessons a month from Tanner and I've made great improvement in the consistency and solidity of my swing. It has taken some effort to replace 30 years of self-taught "swing knowledge" but Tanner excels at giving me just enough to work on that I'm not overwhelmed. He has helped me build a more solid swing and I'm really taking the improvements to the course. I'm very confident that I'm heading in the right direction. Tanner has done a great job of helping me work around some spinal flexibility issues and has helped me find a swing that is repeatable. He is amazingly adept at identifying my mistakes and "fixing" me if I go astray. It usually takes about 3 swings for him to identify what I'm doing differently or incorrectly and get me back on track. I can heartily endorse the Trackman IV technology that they have in the hitting bays. I'm an engineer and I love reviewing the numbers and taking the skills challenges (Trackman Combine) to monitor my progress. The fact that every swing is recorded from two camera positions along with all the Trackman data and that it is all available for review off-line is simply awesome. I enjoy looking back a few months and seeing if I can pick up the changes in my swing.
