I chose Blue Dolly over two competitors based on their written estimate: $453 (stated range $400-$575), 2 movers, arrival 12-2 PM. The reality: the crew arrived at 1:30 PM -- 90 minutes late -- and finished at 6:30 PM. The final bill was ~$1,000, more than double the estimate. This was a light load: ~1,000 lbs, ~35 boxes, no beds or appliances. The crew told me their previous job that morning had also been scoped at 2 hours and ran to 4 -- they arrived exhausted, and it showed. Two movers were sent to what was realistically a 3-man job. Along the way they gouged a wall at my old house and scratched a door and chipped the frame at the new one (see photos). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called their office multiple times during business hours -- no answer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The aftermath has been worse. I disputed in writing with photos. First they told me a damage claim was submitted with a 4-6 week window; two days later the same manager wrote there was "no claim number associated with this one." The guys were very polite and friendly, however I felt they could have treated my furniture and walls with a little more care. For example, they dragged my couch on its side across the floor rather than lifting it. Also, perhaps you should consider putting a felt pad under the two wheeler because every time they removed an item they potentially could have scratched my floors. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with Blue Dolly. I hired them to move just a few large items during a 1-3 PM window the day before I had to be completely out of my apartment by noon on 5/31. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner called that morning saying the movers would be late.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then the excuses kept coming all day and at 3:30 PM "one more hour," 5:30 PM "one more hour" again. They never showed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I clearly told the owner multiple times that my new condo required movers to be finished by 8 PM. Despite knowing that, at 7 PM he canceled my move and told me to "hire other movers."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At 7 PM. On a Saturday night. Hours before I had to turn in my keys. They left me scrambling at the last minute in an impossible situation and didn't offer my deposit back until I demanded it. We used blue dolly to move our family. It was a disaster. The movers were smoking weed in our bathroom, and were very rough with our furniture. They asked for lunch and drinks from us, which is typically something I would provide, but given the situation with the service, it came across as rude. They called their manager/owner, and after a conversation, they had determined the move took them longer, and we had more items than what was in the quote. Alec, wanted to charge an extra $1,000. They were trying to get my mother-in-law to sign for it while I was at our old house. I called Alec, and after a long conversation and having to be extremely firm, and threatening to write a negative review, he agreed on the original price. This was almost a year ago and I still get frustrated thinking about it. We have damaged furniture and walls, and they made our moving experience even more stressful. It is now totally broken. They also charged me time for the 30 minute break their workers took. Where do I start. Things broken, items lost, Items just taken apart & left at the home we were living in. Shelves left &or taken apart & left not only Shelves but the pegs to put them back together again. Walls damaged on the way out of home we had painted before leaving that home & did the same to the newly built home we moved into. Beds not put together the way they were meant to be & with missing center legs. Another bed missing parts. We wanted to take drawers out of dressers, they said that is not needed. Every dresser they tipped upside down & took it out of our home (can one imagine what happened to an loose items that were not cloths in the drawers. The one guy was constantly arguing with the other 2. The one guy doing all the arguing took our brand new hide abed couch down are stairs & out on to the street down our stair out side end over end by him self. If anyone can imagine. He was strong but end over end without help. He would have completely tore off our storm door to the home we left If I would not have demanded that I need to hold that door open. These guys like to waste people's time, clearly don't get enough business so they tell you they'll do it for 100 and then add on hundreds after they said 100 was cool. Then when you go and write a review about them they contact you and beg you to change it and even offer to pay you to take it down. Davonte and Anthony were super helpful, careful, and efficient, plus they were a lot of fun to be around. these people are dishonest! I insisted on a firm estimate because they had between $300.00 and $450.00. the gal, Lucy, said she gave me a " firm" estimate of $340.27 which I approved with my signature. I was told it would be delivered the next day, the day it was to be delivered they called me and said they could not do it that day and asked if they could deliver it on Sunday instead. Sunday they were an hour late in delivery . The med who delivered it did a very nice job and I gave them a cash tip of 20.00. They asked me to sign the invoice and I said I would not because it was for $386.40 ,they called their manager, I spoke to him and told him Iwould pay the price that I agreed to in the estimate. He charged my card they had without my authorization for the amount. On the following days, my card was used again, first for a return of 86.90, then today that was charged again plus I never got credit for my deposit of $100.00. If I could leave zero stars, I would. They started calling me non-stop when I went online looking for a local moving co and I did not request info from Blue Dolly. They must have employees that work in other countries because they don't speak English very well. read more

I called Blue Dolly on 9/30/24 in a panic early morning requesting for a same day move for a 1 bedroom not a lot furniture but lots of college like bags & boxes needed move to a storage unit, Lucia the intake person who set up appointments was very nice understanding and professional she checked to make sure the job could be done at such short notice, once confirmed it could happen she provided a quote and informed me it would be a 3 man crew and assured me my items would be handled with care and they would arrive between the hours of 11 am or 1:30 pm they arrived at 1: 40 pm and informed me that one man couldn't make it but it would make the cost less. From start to finish it took them a total of 7 hours. I believe if they had the third person there it would not have took that long. I was quoted a price of $986.00 for a 1 bedroom move. I was charged and paid 1264.96. that's a huge difference than the quoted price. So be careful if you use this company it could cost you more than you expected! read more

Two good things about nextdoor neighbor. The guys who helped me move and the customer service response time. Other than that I wouldn't recommend. I was scheduled to move 8/1 and last second I had to reschedule due to an emergency. So I talked to the founder and rescheduled to 8/3 and the founder told me he would get back to me about a specific time. 8:00pm I get a call from him which I missed because it was late that night. Called the number back first thing in the morning. The secretary had no idea what I was talking about (called twice same result). Later on during the day at around 4pm I got a hold of the founder and rescheduled for the next day at 4pm. Next day rolls around and he calls me and asks if 4pm still works, I said yes and he said he sent his guys home for the day. We reschedule again for 1:15 pm on 8/5 the next day. 1:15 rolls around and I'm texting and calling seeing where they are. They finally get there at 4:10pm, they do the move and I get charged $350 over the estimate. Also asked for boxes and got no boxes. Go somewhere else read more
