I own my own home and live alone. I responsibly reached out for three estimates to have my house winterized. (I kept meaning to do it myself but never got around to it). It wasn't a huge project: seal the windows, cover some patio furniture, take some things up to the attic, add weatherstripping to a few doors. The first place I called took 3 days to get to me and quoted me $320. The second never showed. Lots of people I tried never even returned my initial call. I was told about Blue Door from a friend of mine who saw it on Facebook. I called and Colette answered, she estimated the same night at $195. She handed me insurance, references and phone numbers I could call. I contracted her on the spot. She completed all the work that following Sunday, which was the most convenient day for me. She even tacked down some carpeting I had gotten used to tripping over. She handed me a bill for $142! She said the job went faster than she thought. The reason I am writing this review is that I am sitting in my nice, warm, living room that is no longer drafty! I am a homeowner. A woman who lives alone. Some things I can fix on my own, other things - I just need a little help or expertise, or another pair of hands. My neighbor gave me a referral to Blue Door because she had some plumbing repairs done. I called about having a new sink and vanity installed and a window fixed. The woman I spoke to was very polite and gave me 'rough estimate' over the phone. She came by for an estimate. Explained everything she would do, how long she expected it to take, showed me her insurance and gave me an estimate in writing. It was less than the one I got on the phone. She showed up on time, ran plastic in my hallway and went to work. I didn't hear from her again until she came to say she was done. She asked me to look everything over. The old vanity was at the curb, everything was cleaned up, the new vanity was caulked in and beautiful. The window was repaired. I couldn't be happier with the level of service I've received. Blue Door provide amazingly reliable service! We called them twice for snow plowing and both times they came immediately and plowed out our driveway. Once was on our way home from a trip and the other time was on our way home from work on a Friday night.....both times the last thing we wanted to face was a driveway full of snow. We've been using this service to tend to home improvement projects we simply didn't have time for. And the results of the projects completed are AMAZING. Also -- I had accidentally clogged the garbage disposal in our kitchen sink. PROMPT service -- two hours after my initial call, the disposal was clean and working again.
