Overall great experience! My car was well cleaned and not scratched. I could tell it was going to be a good wash when it was being soaped/scrubbed thoroughly before entering! Missing star is for two things: - vacuum usage is not free, which at $17 a car wash it should be - location is tight (not their fault) in order to get back to vacuum you have to reenter lot with the line and dutch bros next door crams up getting back on the road All that being said I will return when I want to treat myself with not washing my own car! It's hard to find a car wash with good vacuums that won't suck all your money away. My car was in dire need of a cleaning, so I put my faith in my peers and drove out of my way to see what the hype was about. It was blazing hot and I hoped to knock this out quickly but was immediately thwarted when I saw that the machines only take quarters. Luckily there was a handy change machine on site. I had a five dollar bill and two ones and hoped that would be enough to cover it. I plugged the machine and got to it, feeding the machine as I shifted from the front to back. The hose reached pretty well, I just wish there were a smaller attachment to get in the crevices under the seat and along the hard to reach edges. When I was satisfied with the vacuum job I flipped the switch to shampooer mode and scrubbed up the console that looked a little worse for wear. If I had a little more time I'd have done the seats, but I'll be back another day. In all I was pleased with the results, the vacuums worked well, had good suction and lasted long enough to get the job done. I left with a clean car for about $6. Not bad at all! read more

Stopped in to get my car cleaned after a couple of road trips. Service was fast and friendly. The prices for an exterior clean seemed reasonable at $11. I went around 8:30am on a Thursday and there was no wait. I have a bug deflector on my vehicle and it wasn't damaged or affected in any way. They handed out a wet wipe to clean your dash with and thoughtfully had a garbage can at the end of the car wash for it. Nice attention to detail. The kids were mostly attentive and all but one was really hustling to prep the car which was covered with a week plus of bugs and bird spatter. (Just a hint - Teslas have four dashcams monitoring and if you're going to slack don't do it in front of Big Brother ;) So why a one star? You expect a car wash to do no harm to the car... my wife and I both glanced at each other when we heard and felt the wheel on the track. Yup. Nice gouge on the front driver side. I looked while driving out and decided to just chalk it up to thing happen, but others with more expensive factory wheels may want to take caution. I wish I could give two ratings. The first would be a solid 5 stars for the service techs. Today was sweltering in Salem, 90+. These teens were dressed in perfect white shirts, black ties, and black pants. They were hot, but never stopped serving. Whoever owns this business ought to take notice that these young men and women were on point. The second rating would be a three star rating. As a service, the product was fine. My car was clean, but had water spots on the bumper and tailgate. I was surprised to see the vacuums were .25 per minute use. I spent $11 on a wash, and I estimate it would take about 8-10 minutes to vacuum. I have been to several washes where the vacuuming was free with any level of wash. Perhaps, owner should offer incentives in tokens for top two tier washes for free vacuuming. Overall, it's worth the hard working staff to return to Blue Elephant. If there was a way to tip my crew, I would have dropped $5 on them for their ethic. read more

I'm busy with a full schedule. I love coming to Blue Elephant because they do a great job and they make it quick and easy. Today, I vacuumed and then hopped in line for a wash. As I was ordering which wash I wanted, I noticed I left my child's carseat at the vacuums. The employee cashing everyone out had a line, but after he took care of everyone in-line (great customer service), he ran over and grabbed the booster seat and put it back in my car before it was my turn to pull in. So grateful for this carwash and their helpful employees! It truly is the little things. There are several normal car washes in the Salem area, but this one seems to stand out from the rest. They brushes are gentle on the car and not abrasive like some can be. They seem to use quality products as well. They have a friendly staff and their prices are reasonably prices. The wash choices are great as well, enough to meet each person's car needs. They always do such an amazing job and get my car sparkling clean no matter how dirty it is. I've taken a few different cars there and each one comes out clean and I say that because my current one has some odd designs where at other car washes it doesn't even get touched in those spots, but here it does. They take their brushes and clean those specific spots before it goes in. The pre spray down and scrub, windshield wiper plastic piece so the window gets clean under it, the rims. Every nook and cranny. I've been so disappointed at other car washes I won't even go to others anymore. I used to live in west Salem but moved to Keizer so I will drive from Keizer to west Salem just to get my car washed at this place because they do such a good job and the price is reasonable unlike other places that charge $30 and don't do as good of job. read more

After the wash was complete (this only took minutes from arriving to leaving), I got out and looked over the vehicle and they did a splendid job. It was a fine sunny morning this morning, so I thought I would give my daughter a nice little present by getting her car washed. I usually get my car washed at Kar 'l B. Kleen, but this morning there was a long line of cars waiting there, despite the relatively early hour (8:15), so I crossed the bridge into West Salem to patronize the Blue Elephant car wash. There was only one car waiting (bad sign?) a nice change from Kar 'l B. Kleen. The prices were also a nice change from Kar "l B. Kleen (about half). There were two human attendants bizarrely dressed for a car wash in business shirts, ties and dress pants (another bad sign?). This is the kind of car wash where you stay in your car and drive off as soon as you emerge from the equipment, so I didn't check the car until I got home. Hmm. Big disappointment. There were many areas where the dirt was unabated. The back of the car (actually a Honda Odyssey) seemed no cleaner than before the wash (see photo). I had bought the Blue Elephant's most expensive wash ($12.00), but the tires looked the same (no tire blackener), and of course they didn't do the interior, since this was a fast drive on/drive off kind of establishment. I guess I should have pulled over after emerging from the car wash and inspected the car, then insisted on a repeat wash. Bottom line: if you want a cheap 'quick and dirty' job (no pun intended), this is the place for you.
