A bit of a rant and a rave. I order the same spicy miso ramen for pickup... at least 3 times a month. And every single time I get it different. Sometimes I have jalapeños, sometimes none. Sometimes I have bean sprouts, sometimes none. Tonight I had neither. One time I even had mushrooms. I understand maybe being out of supplies sometimes but I just wish there was more consistency, especially when ordering online, to know if there were items out of stock. Or if you can when ordering, pick which toppings you do or don't want to forsure know what you're about to get in your meal. The rave part is the broth is delicious. I had a super rainbow roll and miso soup today (10/25/25) and got sick with cramping and bloody diarrhea shortly after. I'm fairly certain it was from lunch as my breakfast was the usual at home, so I wanted to write something in case other people get sick today so that Blue Fin can figure out what's going wrong. 3.7/5 stars We were waiting for the management to finish the paperwork we needed to sign to get a trailer. It was 2:00 and we decided to go to lunch to let them take the time to get it done right. We asked where to go for sushi and they said this is the best in town. We were greeted immediately and we got to pick our own table. Staff all had masks on properly and were really nice. We picked a comfy booth all by ourselves (there was only one other couple). We pulled the menu up even though I used the Yelp menu ahead to decide what we would have. The lunch menu is good with most anything you could want at excellent prices. Claire was our server. She was knowledgeable, pleasant, checked on us at the right time and there when we needed. The bento box is probably a 3, the salmon nigiri a 3.8, assorted sushi on lunch platter a 2.8 and Alaskan Roll a 4. The bento box is a huge assortment & worth the price. I would order the sushi by order. 2 salmon nigiri were $3 for lunch. Shock. The place looks like it was a fast food place before Blue Fin took over. Ambiance is ok. We would come back here for lunch if we were in town. We know better what to order. The place was clean and sanitary, staff was excellent and masked properly and food good & price excellent. Seatings were awkward. Going for a meal at Blue Fin in a weekday evening one could expect it to be busy. We waited about 15 minutes for seating for 5; ok if you know it's worth the wait. And it was! Once seated we ordered water and soft drinks. Our orders were a combo of Pork and Beef Bento meals, , Tako Yaki with Gyoza. The Pork Bento cooked well, seasoned and crunchy outside. The Miso Soup wasn't hot but warm enough. Our server Alexia kept our drinks refilled with a smile even though we seemed super busy with other diners. I also used my Yelp Free coupon for a free Green Tea Ice Cream. The Blue Fin makes for a great dinner experience; curious how it is around lunchtime. I guess time will tell! read more

Came here with family and friends. Took forever to get seated. Waiter took FOREVER to take our order. He missed putting in our friends meal who repeated it twice for what he wanted. They give you bottle waters so you pour the water in the ice cups yourself. (Said it was for covid reasons, yet they have sodas in the cup with ice.) Didn't make sense to me. We had to keep asking the waiter for refills (that's how long the food took). But he never came and checked on us. We were there for a good 2 1/2 hours!! All we did was wait, wait for our seats, wait for our drinks, wait for our order to be taken, wait for our food, but was quick to come with the check. Definitely didn't feel like a 5 star restaurant that everyone spoke about. The food wasn't that great, it was tasteless. Was confused on what kind of restaurant I was at with the different cuisines they had. We spoke to the manager about our experience and he said he'd give us a discount. However, didn't add it on the bill. Then the waiter just offered shots.. we're not coming back. Ain't worth the price we paid. Go somewhere else. read more

Considering it's Yuma the sushi here isn't great but will bring you back at least once. The wait staff constantly wait on you and their timing is spot on. The ambiance needs an update as some of their decor is outdated or weathered. Be Warned they are heavy handed with a lot of their rolls when it comes to imitation crab and cream cheese. Literally almost all their rolls have these ingredients and is an easy tipoff about what type of quality you're going to get. read more

This was my favorite sushi spot in town at one point. The quality of the food has become disappointing to say the least. There are two rolls I always get. This last visit, the shrimp tempura in my one roll tasted old and hard like it was sitting there for a day or two. Sad to say but I probably won't be coming back anytime soon. Each time I go back thinking it'll be better but I end up leaving more dissatisfied than the last visit. The best thing about about place is the service. Extremely disappointed. I heard a lot of good things about this place only to be let down. Sushi rice was not sticky, more of a mush mess. Portioning was way off, too much rice and avocado compared to pea sized fish. Everything was tasteless and don't let me get started on the tempura. Update: We went in there recently and I think they put in a new fancy water filter or something because the glass of water I had was probably the best damn glass of water I've had in a restaurant in Yuma. I'm not joking. Most Yuma places have nasty chlorine tap water and it sucks! Blue fin is my favorite sushi place in Yuma. We've been here multiple times. They have a large menu of sushi rolls to choose from. Meso soup is good, my They have a good happy hour as well, 2-6 is buy one get one free which is normally the time we got for an earlier dinner. husband and I have tried a bunch of different rolls. This time I got two of my favorites, the pink lady and the Yuma roll. We got there around 5:30 on a Saturday and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Reasons for 4 stars would be the building and booths are kindof rundown, service is a little lacking sometimes and on multiple occasions they've switched our rolls up so we have had to eat off each-others plates. read more

Went here for the first time tonight. Spot is nice and clean. The menu has soo many good options to choose from so it was hard! But they have happy hour (2-6pm) so that will make it a lil easier. ALL rolls are BOGO free during happy hour. The sushi was amazing!! OMG! I had the heart attack roll (under deep fried rolls) and a crunch fire cracker roll (under fresh & spicy rolls). On todays visit 2/5/23 The food wasn't that good, didn't look appetizing and the staff seemed kinda over it. I saw two customers coming up to the entrance to pay their tab, one wasn't happy about it. Food: took the recommendation to try the Lemon Flush and asked for lite sauce. It came pretty quickly, there was still a good amount of sauce but my wasabi/soy balanced it out some. The portion sizes were hearty and overall it was a solid three-star sushi experience. Ick. I have been wanting to try it, waiting for the happy hour and when I was available to go. unfortunately today was the day. I had read on their website that they had a special buy one get one free on spicy tuna rolls. 5.95. I also ordered a soft shell crab. I placed my order for pickup. we went through it all buy one get one free. Which sauces I want etc. looking back I know now why she confirmed that you went two rolls? She knew that I was ordering the happy hour 2:30-5:30 2 spicy tuna rolls for 5.95. I even mentioned that I was going to try Ninja Sushi but they said that they took the spicy tuna roll off the happy hour price. So when I picked it up I was in a hurry and paid the bill 22.06. when I got home the first thing I noticed was no wasabi, that ruined it for me. and the little shriveled up, rubbery soft shell crab with no sauce. it think they cut it up into piece s to make it look bigger? It wasn't shown as all cut up on the menu. It really pissed me off and I started to think about why was I charged 22.06.? when I called back talked to the same person that took my order. she said we don't have buy one get on free, we have buy one and the second one is half off. The first was isn't 5.95 like it states on the website, it was 8.00 and the second one was 4.00. So that's 12.00 when I thought it was 5.95 for two. wrong. That's a rip off and she knew it. My husband and I really wanted to like Blue Fin. We've been there 4 times, and just haven't been pleased. Once they charged us twice, and when we noticed and went back and explained what happened and gave proof, the waitress said she'd explain to the manager and call us back. They never called us back and as far as we know haven't been given our money back for the double charge. And then the most recent time we went, we didn't find it the cleanest. They could have better attention to detail, just simply wipe down the soy sauce bottles every time they clear a table (they're all sticky with soy sauce, and sometimes almost empty). Also, I can only speak for the sushi as I haven't had anything else on the menu, but the sushi isn't the best. Sometimes it's not even cut through the seaweed all the way, and a lot of the rolls have way too much sauce on them. And even when I ordered a roll with cucumber or crunch, there was no crunch, they're basically all mush. I think we'll stick to Tomo on S Ave B. read more
