Came here recently and there is a new menu and new booths from when I came a few months ago. Food is still good, so definitely still suggest that you come and check it out. I especially suggest eating the Hawaiian food.

another top recent find for us. incredible prices, great service, & unique options. they're gonna be seeing a lot of us. it was hopping when we were there for din & for good reason!!! honolulu garlic chicken bento: only $12 for all of it. insane!!!! chicken entree (slightly less of a portion than the plate), california roll, rice, ocean salad, veggie base, gyoza, & miso soup. chicken has a ton of flavor & sushi was fresh. bluefin tuna poke bowl: again, so fresh. some of the best bang for your buck seafood you'll find in omaha. topped with shoyu poke sauce. gyoza w/ pork & veggies.

Best spam musubi when I want my Hawaii fix. Friendly service and great tasting food. Lots of seating cleans bathrooms and great foods like katsu , udon and drinks.

I've been to blue Hawaii twice now and really enjoyed it for lunch! It would also be a good place to take kids because the food comes out really quick and there are many many many options to choose from, oh of course it's all delicious too so that helps! Kind of like a fast casual buffet that they deliver directly to your table!

Always the best experience and food here. We have eaten in and out from here before and each time the food is amazing and the staff is so kind. Inside is nice and clean, nothing special but not bad at all. They bring your food to your table and it's quick service. Amazing food per usual!

Food and service was phenomenal. Everyone there was so nice and absolute must are the sushi tacos. The food came out super fast. They have an eaten or carry out option so if you're looking for a fast meal or a quick bite to grab, this is definitely the location. Everything was super fresh. I highly recommend. Very clean and fun environment.

This place is a hidden gem in Omaha! As you walk in, you can tell it was going to be a relaxed place for a family lunch. The owner is from Hawaii and delivers authentic, large portions of Hawaiian food. The Honolulu garlic chicken was a great blend of garlic and sweet flavors. The macaroni was a favorite with a light mayo as the base. We could have shared this dish but I was happy for leftovers. The staff and owners came over to ask how our meal was and couldn't have been more friendly!

Starting with the positives: this place had a very cute vibe with instrumental ukulele music playing and nice decor. The server Kevin was very nice and service was quick. The food's presentation was cute in the little bowls and plated nicely. Now for the negatives: As someone actually from Hawaii, this was like the touristy version of Hawaiian food. It lacked seasoning and taste. All 3 of our dishes were not enjoyable. Real Hawaiian food is seasoned heavily and not over cooked. The chicken was the best part. This was too bland for me to consider coming back.

We stopped in about 30 minutes before closing and they mentioned if we could order right away that it was fine to dine in still, we appreciated it. We ordered a dumpling appetizer right away and had it to our table within five minutes, our server even had recommendations for us since it was our first time in. After ordering, we had our food within seven minutes, piping hot and delicious! We probably ordered, ate, and paid within fifteen minutes. Shout out to our server, his name started with an M, sorry for not remembering it.

Such an interesting place! I loved the selection of Hawaiian food that I've never seen before. The food was tasty and it felt like home. The inside was quiet; I feel like most people order it to go rather than eat in. I would like to come back and try more items, as well as the sushi

We love Blue Hawaii! We have been going regularly now (probably once a week) and everything we try is great. The Shoyu Poke bowl or Chicken Katsu bowl for lunch is only $10 or less and is made quick. They have Hawaiian breakfast, sushi, shrimp, chicken and whatever you'd like. Service is quick and friendly.

Good food. Big portions. Very tender chicken. Spam musubi is good too but the rice to spam ratio could be better.

The only rough spot is that it's quite popular. One must arrive early or call to find out when the next wave of diners might be departing. The staff. From greeting to departure, we have felt welcome and appreciated. Not sucked-up-to. Appreciated. It's like they dig what they're doing. Feels great. This is doubly true for us when dining at the bar. We had a great conversation with the gent serving, and enjoyed him nearly as much as the meal. The fish. So fresh. So tasty. Soft. Perfectly cut. Mmm. Parking is pretty simple. Plenty of space behind the building. Chill neighborhood, too. Felt quite safe. At some point, I need to try some of the many other types of Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, and Thai cuisine. This place makes me wish I lived in Bellevue.

I wasn't expecting an out of the way place having such a great take on Asian culture!

I ordered the Honey Chicken Bento Box, my wife Laura had the Avocado Roll, my daughter Alex ordered the Hibachi Steak, and my other daughter Samantha had the Chicken Bento Box. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. My only small disappointment was that the honey chicken didn't have as much honey flavor as I was expecting based on the name, but it was still a good meal overall. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our visit, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, which gives it a cozy feel. Personally, I'd love to see a little more Japanese décor and perhaps some music that better matches the cuisine and atmosphere. It would help create a more immersive dining experience. The bathroom was just okay--nothing particularly noteworthy, but it could use a little attention. Overall, the food and service were the highlights of our visit. We'd definitely come back and look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

If you're feeling indulgent, splurge on the sake pairing as well to truly round out the experience. If you heard about a sushi omakase place in the middle of America, what would you think? I bet…read moreit's probably not fresh-tasting raw dishes or wow-level sushi omakase. But there is a James Beard-level recognized chef here, in Omaha, that is delivering fresh-tasting raw and other omakase dishes week after week - geography be damned. His name is David Utterback. It's incredibly difficult to get reservations at this eight-seat omakase called Ota. Moreso than any omakase in my hometown on an island in the middle of the Pacific. In fact, I dont think he needs this review - the best don't need to advertise. I also don't think we have a sushi chef here in Hawaii that is as nationally-acclaimed as Utterback. So we were very interested to try. And we were very lucky to get reservations. I dont think there is a parking lot for this restaurant, which is tucked within his also highly-regarded Yoshitomo restaurant. So if you from Hawaii like me, and get lucky with the reservations, gotta roll da dice on parallel street parking. That's code for come early ;) (parking is free in the area) W-h-e-n you do arrive at Yoshitomo, there is a small - hidden - waiting area within Yoshitomo where you will be asked to wait for the omakase to begin. The dark photo with the lantern and Ota sign is in that waiting room. - And frankly - That's all that needs to be shown in a photo cause the omakase course itself varies depending on chef's tastes and what's available that week. The courses we had will likely not be the entirety of the courses you have. But the rice might be the same. There is a special black vinegar that chef uses to add to the rice. Ask him about it. There is a whole story behind it ;) So my photos are small in number. They are the highlights of our experience and what stood out to me that is beyond anything I've tried in Hawaii or elsewhere (including the black-vinegar sushi rice) Enjoy - cause we most certainly did :)
