I had a great birthday dinner at Blue Jay Bistro, what a great place! Crab dip appetizer, lamb chops for entree, really good!

This place was great. We had the hanger steak, short ribs, and short rib empanadas. We also had the banana beignets and olive oil cake (which I had never heard of before). Everything was excellent, ... well prepared and lots of flavor. The manager came out to tell me that my hanger steak wasn't right so they had to prepare another one. Nice touch! The staff was on point and the ambiance inviting. We highly recommend this place in little Littleton. A real find and worth the drive from Raleigh ... part of our Foodie Trip series (food destinations within easy driving distance from the capital city).

What an amazing pearl tucked away in Eastern North Carolina. Blue Jay punches above its weight in a major city, let alone a lake town. Apparently the owners are from the area and have done well for themselves. Time to give back, Blue Jays seems to be part of a regional non profit revitalization effort which involves a brewery, artist collective and even a charter school. As for the food, it is venture off 95 for 25 mins worthy. If you want high class food in the low country, this is your spot. We had amazing service, couldn't recommend more.

Came here last year for the first time for our wedding anniversary, and enjoyed it so much we had to do it again this year. Once again, the food was incredible, the service was fantastic, and the whole night was nothing short of phenomenal. We will return for sure. This year we had the Chicken Fried Oysters, Country Ham and Cheddar Biscuits, Barbecue Quail, Pork Chop.... Not Vindaloo, Campfire S'mores, and Grapefruit Panna Cotta (had a different name but I cannot remember), and Strawberry Coconut Mocktails.

We arrived for our reservation and were seated in the bar area. My husband and I started off a round of drinks, it was a beer for me and the sunset peach cocktail for him. I also tried a pour of the tempranillo and port. To start for food we chose the squash soup. Next it was the pork chop for me and the flounder for him and we split the hazelnut nutella for dessert. The drinks, food and service were great. It is expensive but Blue Jay Bistro is a must visit if you are in Littleton.

My wife and I had dinner reservations for 630 and were immediately seated at our table. The restaurant had a nice anniversary card at the table for us. The drinks were plenty and the food offered was cooked to our taste. The selection was limited but we enjoyed everything including the drinks. I have included a picture of our dessert which we devoured.

What a delightful surprise. The food, the décor, the ambience - all well executed. Definitely worth a trip to Littleton for this restaurant.

I've never experienced this before but was happy that we at least got our beer. My husband ordered an IPA and I got a flight (per usual!) I had looked at the website prior and while they list their flagship beers, they do not have a list of their seasonal offerings until you get into the brewery. I must say that I was much more impressed with the selection once we got there. We went outside to sit (it was a BEAUTIFUL day!) and were lucky enough to get a seat in the shade. The view was absolutely spectacular. If you love Buggs Island Lake (or Kerr Lake as this North Carolinian calls it), you will love this view. It's honestly the best part of this place. You can plenty of water, the bridge coming into Clarksville, and the train trestle. I must point out that you couldn't go wrong sitting inside in the AC either. It's decorated very nicely! We finally got notified that we were now able to order our food. We went to the window and let them know what we wanted. We were then given another buzzer that would let us know when our food was ready. (I'm a bit baffled by this process to be honest.) We ordered another beer. My favorite was the S'mores Porter (this was a seasonal option). Very tasty and VERY reminiscent of a S'more. My husband really enjoyed the Hazy Lake Day IPA. Our food was ready in the middle of our second beer. I got the smash burger and the hubs got the catfish bites. My smash burger was pretty good but the fries were just okay...they were not crispy...at all. Very floppy. They were warm though so at least that. The real star was the catfish. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, it was delicious. We also got some pimento cheese to go. It came with 2 packets of Stacy's Pita chips but I thought it was a little pricey for $8. Overall I was satisfied with the food, I will just try a different side next time. When it came time to close our tab, it asked if we wanted to tip, 18, 20, or 25% on our total bill. I only tipped on the beer since I had to get up to order my food and then go retrieve it myself as well...I did not mind doing that, I just don't think that's a procedure worth tipping. All of the bartenders were very pleasant. This really was a wonderful afternoon with friends. I probably won't come during the summer since I imagine it being crowded, but I will definitely return in the fall or next spring. I wanted to purchase a pint glass but they didn't have them. They only had the 5 oz flight glasses. Hopefully they will get some in the future! Ps. They do have a designated parking lot but it seems to get full fast. Not sure if you're allowed to park at the hotel next door or not!
