    Smoked Fish Dip

A coworker was retiring and this is her spot. I got there on the early side and parking was readily available. It's cozy and dimly lit inside. They were having their happy hour and there were several items to pick from. I opted for the smoked fish dip and bottled sparkling water. I loved every bite. At the start of the evening there was a singer and she did her thing working the crowd and her vocals. The set changed to a jazz band later in the evening and they did their thing also. A very soulful evening. Definitely a great hangout spot to listen to local artists as well as have a meal and drinks.

Came to check this place out on the Friday before the 4th of July. Happy hours on Friday is awesome!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Little local spot w live entertainment and the infamous twin bartenders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Spacious bar set up as well as outdoor seating for dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Was greeted quickly by one of the lovely twins. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I usually don't enjoy most live entertainment but there was a young woman w a beautiful voice singing anything from country to classics from the 80's[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. She sounded liberated than popular top artists. Decent drink and food selection. Thankfully they have a decent IPA and we tried the shrimp quesadilla and sliders. My friend loved their fresh mozzarella quesadilla and I loved the hot fries. The sliders were decent too; seasoned well but reminded me of the sliders your mom would make at home. Plenty of public parking just Don't forget to pay your parking as the meter maid is nasty. Overall great local spot with a down to earth vibe.

My friend suggested we swing by here one Sunday when we just wanted to get out the house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the bar while listening to live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We missed the Jazz brunch but were pleased to know they had live music after brunch with happy hour specials.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bartender was extremely welcoming and warm. Full of great conversation. We tried the wings; I ordered the Carolina Gold and my friend ordered the lemon pepper. I have to say my wings were covered in basic mustard. My friend did enjoy her lemon pepper. In short the love misc the great bartender made up for the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great music and nice relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will return to try something else on the menu or simply relax jamming to the music with a glass of wine.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This fun and lively bar/restaurant located in the North Beach shoppes on A1A gets very busy on Friday nights when they have live music outside on the parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The groups range from very good to just ok. So the best thing to do is to check out their website for their outdoor concert series performers[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Last night we had a great time with Jes and the Giglows. Great performance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My husband got the chicken quesadilla and it was just OK. Not a great dish but passable for the occasion. They do have a Happy Hour (drinks and some bar bites) and live music inside every day of the week.

I have been wanting to check this place out for some time now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have driven by and noticed the great music playing. They seem to have a live band some days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a good time. I made a good choice in stopping in. Inside there is this big bar with tables around the walls. Behind the bar a small area for dancing. Towards the back I noticed a small stage for performers. The crowd is older. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was fun and the people friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The table service was a little slow. We had appetizers. They had a happy hour special on appetizers. I ordered the Tuna, someone else ordered the mini pizza and someone had the fish dip. That pizza was my favorite thing. I liked that crust. The fish dip was a nice size dish with some veggies. I enjoyed the crusted Tuna. We were all happy with the food. The parking is meter parking. It has a shared parking lot. This area gets busy. I found out. Blue Jean Blues is located in the middle of a strip mall. Just follow the sound of music and you won't miss the place. It's a fun place to visit. I am not much of a bar person. I came with a group. I felt comfortable and had a great time here.

We stumbled upon Blue Jean Blues during our first night on vacation. We had a long day of travel and needed a late dinner. We're so grateful we found Blue Jean Blues! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was so warm and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Singer Charlie Sullivan was performing and she was incredible![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed the Ground Beef Sliders with their sweet potato wedges and they were so good. The sweet potato wedges were out of this world All in all a perfect dinner way to kick off our trip. We plan on going back to enjoy other live performers throughout our stay.

I drove down to 33rd to Blue Jean Blues to see Dave the cowboy perform but he didn't start till 8:00 I got to see him unloading his car and it was nice to see him. I sat outside with a couple of gentlemen and I had a drink, service was good drink was good, I didn't have anything to eat, however the singer that was performing before Dave sounded fabulous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Ambiance inside is very very nice and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a busy Street a lot of stuff going on restaurants, music or you can just walk around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend.

Never again. The owners were rude. They sneak in a cover charge on your bar bill and it's too crowded for the prices.

I heard about this event from Dan I. C., and felt like taking a roadtrip for a change of scenery…read morefrom my usual Wynwood / South Beach hangings out. Am I glad I drove 95 North! First, find some of the nearby street metered parking or for a better deal park in a nearby flat rate lot ($10) When your windows are down, you can hear the music as you approach the end of Commercial Blvd. There's a stage setup between a couple of the restaurants and the fishing pier, with some chairs set up. But why sit down, when you can jam to decent covers of everything from "Sweet Caroline" to Ceelo's "F You"? The band (Groove Line, I believe) even gets into the act dancing with the crowd!

Having been informed of Jazz On The Square last spring, when in Fort Lauderdale for an early March…read more2008 visit I made sure to take a leisure stroll from the Hampton Beach Club Condos on S. Ocean Boulevard, which is where I was staying,at a friends apartment, to capture the Friday evening "Jazz On the Square" concert series at Pelican Square in Lauderdale By The Sea. Since my first vists to the Lauderdale By The Sea area in October 2005 the Anglin Beach Pier Village at Lauderdale By The Sea which some refer to as "The Village" is one of my favorite beach villages. As well as Deerfield and Hollywood beaches as opposed to the 'Lauderdale Beach' aliong Atlantic Boulevard. Having frequented Muscle Beach in South Beach for the Winter Party Festival one two occasions if I had my choice of beaches I think it would be Hollywood, Deerfield and Lauderdale By The Sea. In that order. As I entered Pelican Square which is just yards from the Anglin Pier / Beach on Friday evening, 7 March 2008, I remembered that my friend who lives in the Hampton Beach Club had told me that the band that he saw last spring was a blues band and that he 'throughly enjoyed watching the women dancing together'. While the band played on. So, as I entered from Ocean Boulevard, along Commerical Boulevard, en route to Pelican Square at El Mar Drive, and as a soulful rendition of "Sittin On The Dock Of Day" reverberated through "The Village" I wondered if it was the same band. As I spent the next 45 minutes to an hour photographing and videotaping folks dancing the streets the Rick Bauer Band played Bruce Springsteen's "Everybody's Got a Hungry Heart", Johnny Cash's "Love Is a Burnin' Thing", Bob Seger and the Silver Bullets' "Old Town Rock and Roll" and Stephen Still's "Love The One You're With" before the band took a break. At which time I headed back to the apartment on South Ocean Boulevard to rejoin friends for dinner which our guests from NYC had prepared. When I showed images that I had taken of the band to my friend he said that it was a different band. Which I had suspected since the blues band that he spoke of consisted mostly of older afro-american men. May I suggest that if you are ever in the Lauderdale By The Sea area on a Friday evening that you check out Jazz On The Square at Pelican Square which, just yards from the Anglin Pier and Beach, takes place from 6 until 10 pm on the streets just outside of The Village Grille and Village Pump at El Mar Drive and Commercial Boulevard. Here is the website at http://www.villagegrille.com/events.html. And should you ever get the opportunity to catch the Rick Bauer Band, by all means do so. To order cds or learn more about the Rick Bauer Band, visit their websites at www.rickbauerband.com or /www.myspace.com/rickbauerband. In addition to founder Rick Bauer, drummer Rich Pistocchi and bassist Rick Bauer (known to all as Pops), a power trio that has garnished local an international acclaim as one of the most ecclectic and capable three pieces anywhere, on this particularly evening, the Rick Bauer Band also featured Richard Malfitano or "Malfie" on sax. A video clip #2/5, from the event, of 'folks dancing the streets' as the Rick Bauer Band performed Bruce Springsteen's "Everybody's Got A Hungry Heart" may be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZliuD5FS7k.
