Owning a hot tub is a lot more work than you think it is. It's not rocket science by any means. But…read moreit's not just this glorious no-maintenance-required just-hop-right-in-whenever amenity. Let me preface this with-- I have never been good at chemistry. (It is safe to say, I will never excel at chemistry.) To recap. The saga that has been my hot tub threw us down a rabbit hole of 1. flat work being done, 2. electrical being installed-- and then 3. an insane amount of chemicals being bought. There's pH increaser... and of course pH decreaser. We have bromine tablets and shock. There's testing trips. And a buttload more I don't even know... Originally, I was like-- eh, let's pop on Amazon and get some stuff. Well that quickly resulted in so many questions. We soon realized we required someone to help tell us exactly what we needed to do and how to do it. Alas, Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa. Located conveniently on the Coralville Strip. We went in and said we have this hot tub. They said... you need this. Away we went. Then a few days later we tested it and the levels weren't ideal-- we called. They said you need to do this. We did that... another few days later we test again. UGH. So we bring in a sample to Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa. We get a print out of what is up-- and a step by step plan on how to rectify it. Additional chemicals are bought. Boom. It is a work in progress. But having a local brick and mortar and ACTUAL PEOPLE to come to when we have no flipping idea what is going on with our hot tub is invaluable! The staff is knowledgable and friendly. There is a dog in the store, often, named Clover. Chemicals seem appropriately priced (though-- again, owning a hot tub requires a lot of them. It can get a bit pricey.) My only qualm is their hours are a bit hit or miss, especially on weekends. Just be sure to call ahead! Come give Clover some belly rubs and get your hot tub pristine wit the experts at Blue Lagoon Pool & Spa.

My wife and I have been shopping around for spas for about 3-4 months. Let me tell you there's a…read morelot of confusing information out there. After the first couple of months of research we about gave up, seems like a lot of dealers either don't know their product or they just don't want to work for the sale. After taking a rest from all of the searching we were told of Pool and Spa Concepts. My wife and I Checked out their website and were impressed with the products they sold. They were dealers of Artesian and Sundance spas. My wife being the skeptical one decided to check out the two companies on the web and found them to be top notch spa manufactures. We decided to stop by their showroom on a Saturday to see what they could offer us. First off the showroom was well stocked with lots of spas to choose from (on other dealer visits we were lucky to see 3-4 spas, not much of a selection). Even though they were very busy with other customers they took the time to greet us and give us a brief overview of the company and let us browse until they were finished with others. After a short wait the manager introduced himself and proceeded to get to know us and what we were in need for our "Backyard Getaway" as he described it. After telling him of my wife's neck pain and my lower back issues he seemed to zero in on a few spa models that would help us with our aches & pains. We also discussed that we have a 14 year old daughter and a 16 year old son that had lots of friends and would like it if the spa was large enough to accommodate them on occasion. That narrowed it down to two models that looked like they would work out just fine. He described all the features of each spa and did it in a matter that made my wife feel as though she was a spa expert. My wife and I were very impressed not only by the spa brands but by the knowledge of our salesperson; he even offered to let us demo the spas in the showroom with our entire family. We took advantage of his offer and brought the family back after hours a couple days later and tried out both spas. After trying them out I could see us using this every night, it was soooo relaxing. The jets seemed to relieve all our aches & pains and the kids loved the idea of having friends over to use it. After comparing the two spas we decided to go with the Sundance Optima, it had all the features that we were looking for and price fit nicely into our budget. Our sales person made everything so easy to pick our spa, from the presentation, the demo and even the paperwork and delivery, everything went smoothly. It's now been a month since we had our spa installed and the whole process has been wonderful. We use our Sundance as much as possible. The kids have even had a couple small fun nights with their friends over using the spa. I think one of the best things about Pool & Spa Concepts is the after the sale customer service. My wife called to ask a water maintenance question and was given a solution on the spot. Whatever the question they have the answer. They offer chemicals, accessories, water testing and service after the sale. If anyone is looking for a great spa shopping experience don't hesitate to go to Pool & Spa Concepts you won't be disappointed. Thank You! Mike M & Family
