Some of their drinks such as smoothies are too sweet for me and I must opt for no sugar or 30% sugar is my max sweetness level. Haven't had boba or pearls in ages and was in the mood for brown sugar pearls. Thus, I ordered their #1 best seller drink - Brown Sugar Pearls with Oreo milk foam in Oolong tea. We also ordered the Royal Milk Tea combo with original flavored egg waffle and two beef corn dogs plus a Strawberry smoothie with creme brûlée to go. Trying their corn dog for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the batter texture and the taste remind me of their egg waffle. They offer ketchup or mustard as sauce dip. I may have enjoyed their corn dog lots because I spiced it up with my own personal chili sauce. This location is conveniently located next to Renfrew skytrain station. There's also lots of free parking available on the street for 2 hours. Ambiance is relaxing and cozy. They offer outlets by the small tables for two, a thoughtful gesture for allowing people to plug in their laptops. There's also a big table for 6 in the center with couple tables for four by the door. Overall, a nice quiet location to grab a snack, load up some caffeine, hang out or to work solo and chill. The tea flavour is quite delicate, with options to substitute the milk and adjust the ice and sugar levels for certain drinks. Those who are lactose intolerant can rejoice because the oat milk substitution is free! Further, some drinks are caffeine free and available hot. It looks like there is only one size for drinks though. If you do opt for pearls, I find that Cha Yuan's have a nice chew/QQ to them. So far, I've only tried the milk teas and lattes, with my favourites being Matcha Latte ($6.50) with Coffee Jelly (+$0.75), Hojicha Milk Tea ($6) with Grass Jelly (+$0.75), and Brown Sugar Pearl Latte ($6), all substituted with oat milk. Cha Yuan is more of a grab and go, but there is some bar seating by the window should you choose to stay longer. Usually, there is only one staff member - at times, two - attending to both the till and the drinks, so there may be a slight wait. That said, the service is great, as is the quality of the drinks. We got Strawberry yogurt and Mango coconuts. Strawberry yogurt was delicious. I was actually surprised a lot of mochi inside. Strawberry yogurt was decent and really loved to have it with mochi. Mango coconuts also had a lot of mochi inside. This one is more sweeter than strawberry one. I should adjust less sweetness next time. Still It was good. There's quite of a selection of drinks on it though. Most of them are on the sweeter side with their cookies and cream shake. They've got a lot of crazy drinks going on, but I'm a simple man that likes his simple drinks and lately, I've been very much into the #8 fresh jade lemon green tea. Because the drinks are pretty sweet I usually adjust it to like 75% sweetness. I also adjust the ice level to get more for my buck and ask for less ice. Hard to judge boba shops in my opinion. Especially since any adjustments I make to my drink is on me and not on the shop. Service was quite fine. Only one person was on the job when I was there, but I've seen two people there before. One to make drinks and the other manning the cashier. Overall, I thought my drink turned out fine. Just have to adjust by trial and error to get the right sweetness down for yourself.
