This is my favorite smoke shop to go to from now onwards. Wanted to replace battery for my cartridges which I spent fortune and stop working after few days. Thank god I found Blue Nile. They recommended me the 4D battery with variable voltage, let me tell you, it's a charm. $15 only Anyone who need battery for cartridges should definitely go for the 4D. I needed some rolling papers for some, uh, herbs...I wandered into this store and asked for some rolling papers. "What brand?" asked the guy. "Uh, Bambu," I blurted, because that was all I could think of. "Bambu is crap...they use animal-based glue and cheap paper; look..." and he pulled a leaf out of a pack of Spanish papers, lit it, and it disappeared into thin air. Okay, I was sold. Being that the pack just says "Smoking Deluxe" on it, it's likely I'll keep coming back here until I figure out if Gem Spa or anywhere closer to me carries them. read more

There's a good number of, ahem, glass-focused tobacco shops in the area, but this is really the best place. The owner is an aficionado for sure. Ask him about any of the products and you'll quickly realize that he loves what he sells and can tell you more about them than most other glass-and-tobacco shop proprietors. His collection of glass apparatus is one of the largest, but at the same time has he some of the best pricing on them. And the owner is just a straight up nice guy. No hard-sell or up-sell, tell him what you're looking for and he'll try to find you something that matches what you need. The Blue Nile is great. read more

I was in the market for some new smoke accessories, and had heard this was one of the best in the city. I was not disappointed...in fact, I can't remember a better experience in any city. The guy at the counter was super friendly, gave me all sorts of advice and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. You can tell he really knows his stuff, and their glass is really high quality...no pun intended. I didn't even ask but on two occasions he dropped pieces on the floor and banged them on the counter just to show that they wouldn't break! My favorite smoke shop in the city, fair prices and honest, knowledgable staff. They definitely carry a lot more scientific glass then heady pieces which is fine for me seeing as scientific is my preference. They carry tons of name brands; so far i have purchased a Custom Creations ratchet perc bubbler, Volcano(which i have since sold for the PAX), a beautiful slime colored dabber along with tons of incense and papers. Went in late on a weekday and they are open pretty late which is nice. Was greeted by the owner who was very friendly and helped me find what I was looking for and offered a discount when he could. Very nice selection of Water pipes of all different styles and for different price ranges. They also sell products for hookah and JUUL pods and kit for especially cheap! As far as head shops go in the city, this one is the best. They have a great selection of glass for flowers or oil. High quality Hi-Si and Sheldon Black pieces on hand at all times. The staff are super friendly and will gladly give you a hands on demonstration of the quality of the glass, etc. Confused on how a vaporizer works? Don't hesitate to ask, they'll take care of you. They will work with you on prices and while quality glass isn't cheap, I find that you get the best bang for your buck here. No bullshit, no frills, just testimony on why this is better than that. If you've been to all the shops on Saint Marks Pl, you should make the trip to the West Village for this shop, it's a gem. read more

Hands down the best shop in the area. Their high end glassware is made in America and they are a certified Roor and Illidelph dealership (among other brands I am forgetting as well...). They had beautiful hand blown glass pieces from CA in a range of prices along with other accouterments you'd expect in a place like this. What really sets them apart though, is the outstanding customer service. The owner was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and true to his word. He offered me a great price on one item and told me it was significantly lower then other stores in the area. Since people will say anything, I did some due diligence and looked around at the same item in neighboring stores. His price was a full $45 dollars less then the other stores in the area. When I came back to the shop to let him know he was indeed correct, he almost beamed with pride at the recognition of his nice discount. While I wouldn't classify any smoke shop in NYC as "cheap," I was very very happy with the deal I got here and felt I paid a very fair price for a quality product. The owner informed me his business strategy was based on repeat customers and not one time price gouging. Exactly the way I would run a business - fair, and honest. This place is the best glass shop in Manhattan. Come in when Johnny, the owner, is working and he'll treat you better than anyone else in the city. I gave him a little bit of a hard time making my selections (I had no idea how advanced bongs had gotten since I was a kid) and he was as nice, helpful and patient as possible. The prices at Blue Nile for glass pieces border on the outrageous and the lack of customer service leaves much to be desired. I walked in prepared to spend a couple of hundred dollars but the rude clerk and unbelievable markups had me walking right back out the door. There are plenty of shops along Macdougal and St Marks that have WAY better prices for their glass pieces of equal quality and a much better concept of what customer service really is. I wanted to get a nice quality water pipe after I broke mine. Alom was really knowledgeable and showed me the 4th dimension water pipe. It is 9mm thick medium beaker with branded downstem and bowl. amazing quality. And he gave it to me for half the regular price! Even hooked me up with a nice bowl for it. Amazing shop!! Best shop I've been to in the city (and I've been to a few). A matchless selection of high-end glassware, friendly service, and reasonable pricing. There's less thin generic stuff than at many of the other places, so it may initially seem pricey, but you don't end up paying much more for something legit (ignore the sticker prices and tell them what you can spend, they'll work with you). Alam seriously hooked me up, including several extras on top of an already good deal. I will be coming here for any future needs. read more

COMPLETE RIP-OFF ARTISTS -- AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT THE SAME. The "positive" reviewers below clearly didn't buy anything expensive from Blue Nile, like I was foolish enough to do. Less than one week after I bought a "Mighty" vaporizer from these guys for $420 (after reading all the "great" reviews on this site), the machine stopped working completely. When I called the shop owner -- who was especially nice when I was giving him cash, telling me to (quote) "call him personally" if there was any problem -- he now couldn't get off the phone with me fast enough, irritably mumbling that "the company will handle your problem, not me." When I asked him if he was bothered by the fact that $420 machine I just bought from him died in less than 4 days, it told me once again (quote) "It's not my problem." If you want to avoid the same treatment from the "super-friendly" staff at Blue Nile, buy online & avoid this garden-variety rip-off joint like the plague. read more
