In all honesty, I've never taken him to a small business groomer before (besides in Japan) so I was pretty nervous in finding a place that would take care of him well. I should've booked her appt sooner :( ) Anyway, I called around and unfortunately everyone is booked for this weekend except for Blue Ribbon. I called yesterday 7/30 and they were able to get me in the next morning (today - 7/31). Her appointment was at 8:30a this morning and they called me around 9:45a saying she was ready for pick up. Very quick! I love how they were able to get me in the next day and also the turnaround time is great! Have brought our girl here about two times to get the FULL treatment: bath, trim and nails. $65 plus tip. I must admit that the first time I ever took her there she was very matted and dirty but the price was absolutely reasonable for all the work she got done. HOWEVER this time around I've kept up with her grooming. She had surgery about a month ago and I've tended to her hair - she's a morkie and while her hair has gotten longer it's definitely not matted like they implied. I made her a grooming appointment to get rid of her long hair around her paws and get a nail trim. Hours prior to her appointment I brushed her hair and even cut out a matt I found. She was perfectly silky and did not smell. Once we got to her appointment the woman there said she had to take out all her matted hair, give paws a trim and charge us $75 for a small dog!!! That's without a bath, no full body trim either. It's completely unreasonable to charge so much and not even cater to the clients needs. Also- they only take cash or checks. Seems very sus as many businesses have various other forms of payments. read more

I found this salon after being denied service at one of the pet store chains, and I wasn't mostly pleased with the service. They have a 24/7 appointment line listed on their website, but I didn't receive a call back from that; however, when I called during business hours I was able to schedule for the next week, which was great. I came in and filled out paperwork and by the time I was finished my groomer arrived and we discussed the style and what would be possible due to her age (8 months) and this being her first groom. Upon picking her up I was pleasantly surprised! She looked so great, especially for a first groom. After being told she'd need a summer cut I was happy to see her puppy fluff perfectly shaved and trimmed. There were a few small issues including some matted poo fur being left behind from the gland expression I would assume but I'm not too sure, but all in all it was a good experience and my pup looks fantastic. I love this Pet Salon. Granted I don't have anything to compare it to, I'd rather not. Jackie grooms our kitty Sunny who is a mass of semi long white fur that's just everywhere. She does such an amazing job and helps me figure out what I want cut on sunny. I just describe what bothers me and Jackie nails it each time! Sunny also has anxiety and the team there have reported Sunny behaves for the most part and doesn't seem to fuss too much. I've gone to Blue Ribbon Pet Salon now 3 or 4 times and Jackie will always be my one and only choice to take care of the shedding fur ball. Oh and sunny always come home feeling so good and smelling amazing. If I'm able to, I'll update this review with a before and after picture. read more

What can I say?! Diesel and I are more than satisfied with his cut and he smells so good. I showed Erin what I wanted and she delivered as best she could considering he was a little matted. She patiently explained how she could make provisions. She was knowledgeable about dog grooming and all of the groomers were professional. Before she took him for his appointment, she squatted low in an attempt to bond with my little man. It worked. She was holding him in no time. DONT GO HERE. I have brought my bichon frise, Teddy, here multiple times. They never do what I ask for but I continued to bring him here anyway because at least he was groomed right? Every single time I have taken him for a groom it has been 100 dollars and whatever I chose to tip. Today when I took him, right away before this woman even touched my dog she tried to say he was matted and I said he was not matted. Another woman employee rubbed her hands though his hair and confirms he was not matted but had insignificant matting on his back legs. I agreed. Hours later I call to pick him up and the woman who groomed him saids he would be $150.00. I was confused on why, so she goes on to say he was matted and she had to scissor cut him. First, he was not severely matted and he has always been scissor cut so why all of sudden a 50 dollar jump? She gets defensive and rude and says "well you can pay the 100 but I'll put you down on the list for can't return" I say "that's perfectly fine!" I get there to pick up my dog and she is still cutting him. At this point I want nothing to do with this place so I demand that she gives me my dog back right now. She refuses. I demand several more times with her not giving me my dog and then I was forced to go back there and get him myself. She throws my dog at me and I instantly see red. Lord gave me strength today!!! Do not go to this place. They will try to tell you your dog is matted to up the price, get defensive when you call them out and then get pissy about it. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Excellent groomers! I just love the cut they do on my toy Aussie, Beau. He has a lot of fluff and they really get a lot of the undercoat out, which helps with shedding around the house / especially in the summer. I'm never very specific about the cut I want because they always do a nice job and what looks right with his look also! I'll be sad when I move from the area and can't be a patron here anymore. But they are nearly twice as expensive as any place I have used over the last 15 years, not including the tip. I'm no stranger to groomers, as I have a purebred, high maintenance breed. I went Blue Ribbon today because last time I went there, they did a wonderful job! I thought this time too...Today was my dog 1 year old Birthday!! I picked my dog up and I realized that her nails are extremely sharp.some nails are cracked...never seen her nails like this before. Some of her hair definitely need to fix.. I'm mad and sad. I pay $15-20 more compare to other grooming places. $60 plus tips?! My dog is a small dog!!! I expected way better than this. I will go back there tomorrow and ask them to fix her hair and nails! I took my Havanese puppy here after having a bad experience at another grooming facility and they did a wonderful job!! Truly the owner (Lee), understands the different standards for different breeds and grooms accordingly. I highly recommend! The owner specializes in Poodles, but she is a master of her trade and can groom any breed expertly. She also clearly supervises her team of groomers and you can feel confident that your dog will be groomed impeccably. Any skin issues or flees or ticks are noticed and brought to your attention---she is paying attention to your dog. When he asked to make a appointment she said we don't do cats on those days when he asked for a Sunday. I just had to review this place. I have been taking my beloved Enzo to Groomingdales in Norfolk and have not been very happy, mostly because he shakes uncontrollably when I drop him off, which I know is somewhat natural, but what was awful was how distressed he was when I would pick him up. He is a 10 year old Bichon that enjoys the outdoors, people and other dogs...a very sweet dog. I have tried a few other Groomers since I also felt that Groomingdales did a lousy job at grooming as well. On a whim, I found Blue Ribbon. Enzo was gently greeted by a wonderful woman who immediately began his procedure (not placed in a crate until they caught up with the demand). When I picked him up...well, I was not only amazed at how beautiful (the best cut he has ever had) he looked, but how calm and serene he was. I have been getting my Miniature Cockapoo done at one of those famous pet stores, got sick of the non-customer service! So I went on Yelp and found Blue Ribbon Pet Salon, read all the great reviews and went there to see for myself and they said due to the storm the past few days they had had cancellations, so they could fit both my girls in. The 4 year old Bella had been groomed all her life so there was no issues with her, but my baby Sami, 4 1/2 months old had no clue what she was in for... I explained she was afraid of the wind, and even more a hair dryer , they said they would take their time and not stress her out and due to this she might not get a cut today, they would just play it by ear and see how she did. To my amazement when I came to pick them up they both looked beautiful, and were so clean smelling. Normally when I bring Bella home after grooming she is exhausted and curls up in a ball and sleeps! Not today, they both have been playing and having a great rest of the day and it's all because these people know how to treat the dogs they groom, stress free. I am so happy I made an advance appointment for Christmas week and that's not the norm for me, but when you find a good groomer, you let them know how appreciative you are for the care they have given your fur babies.
