No Surprise on the five stars! This past week, I received a beautiful sympathy arrangement designed by a very talented designer, Michele, a co-owner of the shop. The balance and the flowers chosen for this arrangement was well thought out and I just have to say it was outstanding. As a retired FTD florist/ shop owner, I am very critical of arrangements I receive (I never tell the sender). But I am proud to say I did not move a single flower in this arrangement. Before selling my shop and going to work in our other family business (joining my husband), I had four full time designers and two part time. There were four shops in town. Ours stood out thanks to my great staff and a mother who taught me design at age 16. I am telling this long story because it is difficult to pick a shop if you are new, or calling in an order. Feel comfortable to call this shop directly. They will not disappoint. My thoughtful and loving sender used a wire service, but I am pretty sure she got full value on this stunning piece. I had a very small, low-key wedding in Blue Ridge and needed a bridal bouquet and two bridesmaids bouquets the day before the wedding. I dropped by Blue Ridge Flowers to see if I could get anything off the shelf. I wasn't expecting much because I was so last minute. The staff couldn't have been nicer, more generous and accommodating! The entire staff dropped everything to help me build the perfect bouquets in the colors that I needed. I was so impressed by the selections that they had, despite my last minute drop in. I got a gorgeous collection of flowers for a GREAT price!! I've gotten flowers from this place twice now, first bouquet was pretty enough but the second one was for a woman's birthday, and what showed up was far more suitable for an office building lobby. When I emailed the owners about their "fall decor" color choices of burnt orange yellow and red being inappropriate for a feminine birthday bouquet, all I got back was "Have a great Thanksgiving." So not only don't they know the difference between a dinner table bouquet and a woman's feminine birthday arrangement, they also don't care. You can do better at Ingles and Food Lion, at least they have more than burnt orange flowers in November. read more

I was recently helping to set up a catering event for a chef when a man showed up and started berating us about the directions he was given (mind you, we all received the same directions and none of us had any problems). The event manager apologized adamantly and tried to take the conversation out of our work space while the man carried on making a scene in front of the client's home (we could hear him from inside). It wasn't until I walked outside and saw 'Blue Ridge Flowers' on his jeep that I realized who was causing all the commotion. After he left, we asked the event manager if everything was ok and found out that she had actually DRIVEN INTO TOWN TO MEET THEM! So, not only did she go out of her way to accommodate them and apologize but then she got raked over the coals. I would not have been as patient. Turns out, they showed up without any weights for the balloons and had to make a second trip back. I certainly would not recommend asking Blue Ridge Flowers to deliver to any time-sensitive events or locations that are not easy to find with GPS (unless, of course, you enjoy verbal altercations - in which case, I'd highly recommend them!) read more
