It stated it was dishwasher safe. I do not regularly put pottery in the dishwasher, but do every now and than. The first time I put the mug in the dishwasher the handle broke off. I was so disappointed. On a recent trip to Asheville, I saw that Kelsey has a shop and was excited to see her pottery, but also inform her of my experience. The store has a good selection of her pottery. I told the worker about by experience and he said he would speak/text Kelsey. Well he did and I was offered nothing, but a returning customer 5% discount. I ended up buy the mug, but regretting it. I realize they had no way of knowing if I was being honest, but considering I told them where I purchased it and my experience the least they could have offered was a double digit percentage discount. Beautiful work, but poor customer appreciation.

They are located in an old house (I believe) that has been transformed into an art gallery/ framing studio/ Art bar/ Studio space. The upstairs level is the art gallery. It is absolutely gorgeous with each room with different colored painted walls to make the art on display really pop. They have dragon head sculptures, calligraphy art, burlesque photography, unique jewelry and so much more. My favorite part of this gallery is actually one of the walls-one of the owners has been (over time) gold leafing one of the walls and it is absolutely stunning. I am dreaming of doing this in my future home one day myself now. The bottom level of the space is where the magic happens. There is an "art bar" which is full of all the art supplies that you could imagine. You can take art workshops here with a group of friends, do an art project by yourself, or do a boxed art project with all of the instructions and materials provided. I recently did a group Mixed Media art workshop. A group of six of us did a three hour workshop led by Patrice. She is a great teacher, the class was super affordable, and it was super fun! For $35-$60 (depending on canvas size), we each created our own unique textured, colorful artwork. We were instructed on how to use the different materials (paint, stamps, modeling paste, mod podge, h20 colors, pitt pens, oil pastels, napkins, tissue paper, etc) and given inspiration. Within the three hour time period, each of us was able to start and complete a piece of art. I truly love this place and recommend it for anyone who loves looking at art (walk through the gallery), anyone who is intimidated by the idea of making art (take a no-pressure workshop with Patrice), or active artists (always good to try new things). Bring your friends, your family, your coworkers. Super fun!

Four days before installation I got an invoice that was 25% !!! more than anticipated because they said they forgot something on the original. Feeling over the barrel because of all the other teams scheduled around this installation (drywall, roof, etc), I was compelled to negotiate a compromise, but then the final bill was still more than we had agreed to. This time they threw my contractor under the bus. I can't remember the last time I had a less transparent experience with something that should have been so straight forward.

However, they suggested we leave the decorative front face with them to protect it during construction. Recently we contacted them to pick it up. There has been very poor communication. They have not returned any of our phone calls, which forced us to visit their office in person. As it stands right now and after several weeks of searching, we (and THEY!!!) are not really sure where the decorative panel is. We are hoping this will be resolved soon, but it has put a tarnish on our overall experience. We will update this review with the outcome. As of 1/29/21, we went in-person to make the final payment and pick up our fireplace front. They had the wrong color, so we will wait another three weeks for them to correct this mistake.
