My Mom and I drove over to Asheville , N. Carolina to go to this store to replace some couch cushions and pillows in her living room. I priced everything on Amazon and my moms neighbor told us about this place. I'm glad we listened! We bought 5 cushions and 4 couch pillows for less than half the price of Amazon Prime. We waited until the very nice lady Beth cut them for us. I had brought the 2 sizes with me for her to measure. It did'nt take very long to get them. The store was quite busy . They have a lot of people working there to help you. I looked around. The store is huge with every type of fabric you can think of.

Almost finished! Cloth from Carolina Fabric on ceiling of 14x16 screened-in porch, hiding insulation between rafters.

Carolina Foam & Fabric at I-40/exit 64 (Black Mtn/Montreat) offers an amazing array of fabrics, foam, upholstery supplies and leather goods displayed in a modern, well-lighted venue. The staff is super-nice and super-patient, understanding that it sometimes takes a while to find the right pattern and cloth for your home project. We needed something light enough to handle, yet strong enough to use as a batten material for overhead insulation on a screened porch. Really, the problem wasn't finding a suitable cloth, it was deciding 'which' cloth to take home! The store site is behind the new fireplace supply store, on the Black Mountain side of the exit.

I originally looked at a sterns and foster at another store they didn't have the one i was interested in. Reis said I think we have that mattress went back and checked and said yes we have that one. Walked in store greeted by another associate very friendly he notified Reis we were there. He was with another customer but very politely said I'll be with you shortly. They have Carolina Furniture concept marked mattresses in store. Reis encouraged me to try hybrid firm copper mattress no high pressure sale. My husband and I tried it couldn't believe how amazing it was and decided to go with that mattress. Has a great warranty. Good pricing. Was delivered in a week . Very nice Store friendly Reis was very good salesman. Had a few questions Customer service called back with answers and they were very friendly and Knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this store for any of your needs. Salesman Reis McCall very friendly attentive and Knowledgeable give him a call.

We purchased a England furniture brand couch from the Arden, NC location of Carolina Furniture…read moreConcepts and have not had a good experience. When we received the sectional couch we ordered it was delivered; however, it wasn't put together correctly with the connectors. Not all the back cushions had the same amount of "filling" so they were are varying heights when you looked at it from the back. Also, one of the legs was crooked. And the pillows were flat with almost no filling. The worst and most obvious defect was the chaise lounge piece was not the correct size. We couldn't deal with England furniture directly so we had to go through customer service at the store. We dealt with Cynthia and she was our liaison for England. We were told the chaise lounge piece would be remade. We just received it a couple of weeks ago and the replacement cushion is still not the correct size. It hangs off the frame. Please see pics attached. I called again and was told England was going to do nothing else as the variance was within their "tolerance level." I said it was not within ours and it did not look good. They will not do anything else. I will also be contacting the BBB. Please do not purchase anything from them or any England brand furniture. It's sad that companies we tried supporting: England and a locally made product from an American company and a local furniture company: Carolina Furniture Concepts and neither take accountability or stand behind the products they make OR sell. Shame!

While I can't say that my visit to Asheville Cotton was the most fun I've ever had, I was just blown away by the sheer variety of fabrics they had. There are around a dozen tightly-packed aisles, each one with shelves simply jam-packed with different varieties of fabrics, all with different prints. I imagine it would be a quilter's dream. I've got no occasion to be inspecting or looking for fabric of any sort, but I still found myself ooh-ing and aah-ing at the sheer variety offered here. They also sell sewing and embroidery machines. I knew they could be expensive, but did you know that a full-featured sewing and embroidery machine for home use can run $12,000? Neither did I. The employees were very kind and helpful, and let you go about your browsing without tapping you on the shoulder every three minutes to ask if you need help finding something. Unfortunately I can't comment on the relative value of the place, as I have no frame of reference for what fabrics can or should cost. There were also a bunch of awesome quilts hanging around the place, which were part of a voting contest that we got to weigh in on as we checked out. They were taking votes for overall winner, as well as a subset of five quilts made by first-time quilters going for a type of "Rookie" award. It was a fun little way to finish up a shopping excursion I was dreading, but ended up secretly enjoying.

They've got tons of fabric but not a lot in the way of patterns. I'm old enough to remember when…read morequilt shops had patterns to inspire you. Not so much anymore anywhere.
