Incredible selection of both foam and a wide range of fabric. Staff are super helpful and knowledgeable about the enormous stock in the store. Every variation of fabric from batik to eleborate upholstery can be found across a veritable rainbow of colors. Great place if you're a crafter/quilter as they have tons of quilting fabric and quilting supplies . They also have a great section for miscellaneous items in large bins that go based off the weight of the items. The store has foam and a large selection of fabric for upholstery. I took away one star because it seems like the only fabrics they don't really have, minus a couple, are fabrics for apparel. I would love it if they had linens, muslins, and other clothing/fashion fabrics, since no one in the area carries them besides Hobby Lobby, and they don't have much either. Now that Joann's is closed, there's nowhere to shop for good quality clothing fabrics. It could be great for business if someone started selling them. As for some of the reviews about the rudeness of the workers: I mean yeah I can see that, but if you smile at them and are nice, they usually reciprocate the actions. They're little old ladies, so go easy on them and show grace. read more

My Mom and I drove over to Asheville , N. Carolina to go to this store to replace some couch cushions and pillows in her living room. I priced everything on Amazon and my moms neighbor told us about this place. I'm glad we listened! We bought 5 cushions and 4 couch pillows for less than half the price of Amazon Prime. We waited until the very nice lady Beth cut them for us. I had brought the 2 sizes with me for her to measure. It did'nt take very long to get them. The store was quite busy . They have a lot of people working there to help you. I looked around. The store is huge with every type of fabric you can think of. read more

The WORST customer service by the two women who run the front desk/check out. Been there several times and it is always awful due to them. I've witnessed, heard and experienced these two being rude, condescending, impatient and plain down right nasty to so many customers in that store. They have a lot of good stuff, and several years ago they were friendly. Now the women at the front aren't very friendly. They should more be accepting of all kinds of people coming in the store. I would have given this review a 5 if it weren't for the extremely rude customer service person at the front desk. I visited the store twice in a week and this woman was ruder the second time than the first. Initially, I thought she may have been having a bad day, but she exhibited the same behavior on the second visit. So disappointing as shopping for fabric is always an exciting adventure, but to leave the store feeling so mistreated was not a pleasant experience. They do have a huge selection of fabrics, including upholstery, as well as foam and all the notions and thread you can imagine. Plus, their craft books are 50% off. I can't say I won't return, but I'll be better prepared mentally and try to avoid that particular person on check-out. read more

They have a huge selection of fabric and supplies...but today was my 2nd trip here in about a month and both times encountered employees that should not work in the capacity of customer service. (Note: I spent a lot of $ both trips). There are some lovely folks there but the attitude of a few make me rethink returning. I felt like the only thing they wanted was to push customers through like a fast food restaurant or Walmart (I have had better customer service in Walmarts limited fabric area than in here). Carolina Foam & Fabric at I-40/exit 64 (Black Mtn/Montreat) offers an amazing array of fabrics, foam, upholstery supplies and leather goods displayed in a modern, well-lighted venue. The staff is super-nice and super-patient, understanding that it sometimes takes a while to find the right pattern and cloth for your home project. We needed something light enough to handle, yet strong enough to use as a batten material for overhead insulation on a screened porch. Really, the problem wasn't finding a suitable cloth, it was deciding 'which' cloth to take home! Funky burlap coffee bags from Columbia, foam wedges, deadstock pillowcases, Vera Wang sheets by the pound (literally BY THE POUND), upholstery fabric, leather hides--all at a great price, and the people here are NICE. This place is great for cottons of any kind. I was in there for an hour and I walked out with way to much fabric. Denim, some knits, and a little quilting cotton. Just amazing, I was in heaven only could of gotten better if they had more knits. Knits are slim pickens but I still found some. They have these bins filled with pieces of fabric, from what I saw most are a yard or more. Well they sale these by pounds making so cheap to get more denim to use as my muslin. Well they do carry twill, camo, uphoslstery fabrics and flannel, all brands that I know of quilting cotton. What else do they have besides fabric, you ask.....notions, notions and templates, and more notions. If you're in the area STOP!!! If you're with the hubby don't give him a choice, just stop. read more

I have been shopping at Fletcher Foam and fabrics for over thirty years .And during my last 3 visits to this store I had such bad cutomer service that After thinking about the thousands of dollars I have spent over these years , It actually brought me to tears .And when I called to express my experiences . The owner a gentleman didn't care to take it up with this employee .He said he's had trouble with her before ... ??? Well that being said I don't believe I am stepping foot back in this establishment . So if a pleasant shopping experience is what your looking for . Certainly not handicapped friendly. I was trying to pass down an isle with my handicap walker and one of the employees was looking at patterns and looked at me and said, as I tried to pass her, "that's why we don't have carts in here"~ I couldn't believe she spoke to me like that. There is a big difference between a cart to put your material in and a person who is handicapped with a walker. Omg, I made my purchase and quit looking around and there was so much more I wanted to buy. Management needs to talk to this elderly cashier. read more

We stopped at another fabric store in Greenville, SC where we live and got a quote for new foam and wrap for our patio furniture. We got a quote for $325.00 plus tax. They charged $25.00 per cushion to cut the foam to size and replace the old foam with the new foam in each cushion. On our way to Asheville we saw the billboard for Foam & Fabric Outlet so we stopped by and got a quote for approx. $120.00 dollars, this included cutting the foam and replacing the foam in each cushion. We returned on 6/1/18 with the cushions and Nick was very helpful in making sure we had the right thickness foam and wrap for the foam. While they started the process the lady that was helping Nick stated that the zippers needed to be sewn at the ends, wasn't done at the manufacturer when new. They did not charge extra for that service. We ended up paying $130.00 with tax. Also, they did the work while we waited. The store in Greenville stated that it would be a 1-2 week lead-time. This was the best customer service experience we have had since moving to the area 5 years ago. I would definitely recommend Foam & Fabric Outlet read more

Went there to get a couple different types of fabric. They wouldn't sell me one because there was 2 1/2 yards left on the bolt and I only wanted 2 yards and would not pay for 2 1/2. The check out lady was severely pissed that I would not pay for an extra half yard that I didn't want/need. Thankfully there a plenty of other fabric places around! read more
