Dr. Schmauder is so fantastic. My partner and I just transferred care there because we suspect with have binocular vision disorder (BVD), which few eye doctors screen for. She's friendly, explains what she's doing, and takes time to answer questions without acting rushed. She also screens for color blindness, which is an important test, but I've never been tested by a clinical provider. She is also aware of vision accessibility tools, including phone settings, which is a nice plus for people who might need that support or suggestions. Horrible customer service with extremely unclear pricing that has now left me without contacts. They took payment and didn't ship or fulfill contacts for over a month. Not a locals place and was told "they don't work with payment plans" after receiving mail that said otherwise. read more

I experienced floaters and needed an emergency retinal exam. They saw me right away and did a great job. Highly recommend.

Here skiing, and my husband's wire frame snaps! Bad timing. Looking for an emergency repair, I found this gem, Blue River Vision. And thankfully, they were open on Saturday (just till noon, but I'll take it!). We stopped in (without an appointment) and was greeted promptly by a friendly young lady who accepted the challenge of fixing his frame. We left the glasses with her and took off to run some errands. Coming back to pick up, and she tells my husband "no charge, just happy to help". So unheard of in this day and age, it was truly refreshing!! I cannot say enough great things about experience this pm with Dr Hegewald and her staff. We are in from Louisiana fir a week of skiing. This was 9 year old's first ski trip since getting glasses in March. We tried earlier today with ski goggles over his glasses. The fogging up made his poor vision without glasses a better alternative. At the end of the day I called her office and they my som to their schedule this pm. We drove over and she quickly did an eye exam and taught him how to put in his new contacts all in 30 minutes. The office decor is very nice looking more like an outdoor guide company lobby . I was traveling with my family from Oklahoma & lost a rubber nose pad on my prescription glasses. I went to several places to try to get a replacement, but no one was very helpful until I went into Blue River Vision. They found a suitable replacement for me, and when I asked how much I owed them, they said no charge, just happy to help. Felt like I was back in my small hometown. I came to Colorado to ski but I almost couldn't ski because I forgot my contacts. This was the only place open on Saturday and I asked them for contacts and they asked for my prescription and when we did not have it we called my eye doctor who changed my prescription and then they gave me the trial contacts for a 15 dollar dispense fee and then I was able to ski.
