The reservation process was easy, and she made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. We found a list of local restaurants on the dining table, which was very helpful. (Tip: If you're going downtown for dinner, don't drive -- it's a nice walk from the inn, plus it's hard to find parking downtown.) The inn is in a quiet area, and we slept quite well in Lola's room. In the morning, the breakfast Janet made was incredible! Egg and cheese croissant sandwiches with fresh basil, thick sliced bacon, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. One of the best meals I've ever had! The grounds are lovely. There is a pool and a hot tub, and plenty of places to sit and relax outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much that I wish we could have stayed longer! I spent this past weekend at the Two Room Inn for my sister's wedding. The place is charming and…read moreconveniently located near in the center of historic downtown Nevada City. Its a short distance to the highway as well. We arrived late in the evening and there was so much going on. Broad street was buzzing with activity and everything is right at your doorstep. There are two reserved parking spots at the back of the house near the main entrance. At night (after 10, I'd say) there's plenty of street parking as well. The inn had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, blankets, pillows and towels. The kitchens were stocked with a wide variety of kitchen essentials. Upon arrival the place was pretty clean aside for some spider webs. There is a tv with DVR and Netflix which was VERY much appreciated. We were able to play some wedding themed movies while pampering and prepping for the big day! My only complaint is that there isn't enough lightening, especially downstairs. It can also get really cold because of all of the Windows downstairs. Bundle up and turn on a heater in the fall and winter months! Loved this place, I would definitely stay again.

There are wagons, buckets, and step stools throughout the property to help you reach the higher branches. They make their own ice cream and waffle cones, and it's to die for! I took home a pint of blueberry cheesecake and strawberry brownie ice cream. Very excited to be returning in the fall for peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, stone fruit and more!

Barbara answered the phone and she was so pleasant and helpful, I knew it wasn't a mistake. Peter greeted us upon our arrival. He was just too sweet! Walked us around, gave us our key, etc. He told us about the various areas of interest and we had a great conversation about where they moved from. I was sorry to not meet Barbara, she was visiting family. The house is darling, lots of antiques and nick-nacks, cabinets full of crystal and old teacups & China, lots of family pictures. It was like walking through my great-grandmother's house. We stayed in the Brunswick room, overlooking the backyard. Quiet & peaceful, like we stepped back in time when things were simple. I was pleased that there was no TV (they do have WiFi, don't panic). Overall, it was a great stay and I hope to visit again.

The breakfast was top notch and did I mention the cookies? Barbara has been making these blue ribbon (the blue ribbon is next to the cookie jar) sugar cookies for over 20 years. Rather they concentrate on the fine balance of making you feel at home and treating you like important hotel guests. The place is very informal. Just remember to pay them by cash or check. Frank said he built the place 13 years ago, so I think it was 2001. The place is really well kept and Frank is in the process of building a hot tub in the back. My wife and I felt like we had plenty of privacy and yet when we walked out of our room, we enjoyed chats with Frank and Jean as if we were old friends. The place is very very clean. In fact, please take your shoes off as you enter. Each room has its own bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner, soap samplers , and towels are included. The room we stayed in was large with a country style motif. It even had its own door to go outside to a porch (with seats and table) where we ate our dinner. No TV in the room, but there is one in the common room. Actually, it's nice to not have a TV in the room. There is WiFi available. Occasionally we saw 4 roaming guinea fowls around the yard. Frank said they are the neighbor's pet. They do sometimes make noise but, I thought they provided more character to the place. Breakfast: Frank and Jean asked us if we eat meat because they wanted to check if we were vegans or not. They made a simple but, tasty and filling breakfast which included bacon, omelet (with organic eggs), potatoes, fresh fruits and toast (with Dave's Killer Bread). Breakfast is family style (you get to enjoy the company of other guests). They were so welcoming that guests' friends and/or family would come and were invited for breakfast too. The term "home away from home" definitely applies to Milano's Inn! We absolutely loved our time there and would definitely go back.

We also needed to have a tent since our wedding was in July, and Sierra worked closely with our vendor that she recommended to schedule set-up and tear-down. Overall, I highly recommend them. Plus they are a non-profit and it's a historical site, so it felt nice contributing to a good cause.
