The property is listed as a B&B on several platforms, the website features breakfast imagery, and the booking form asks for dietary restrictions, so we reasonably assumed breakfast and access to common areas were part of the experience. Instead, Room 2 functions more like a small private room rental with limited access to the house. We were surprised to learn upon arrival that we did not have access to the main house common areas. For us, shared spaces are a major part of what makes staying in a bed and breakfast enjoyable. The room itself was also extremely small. With a queen bed and a twin bed in the room, there was essentially no space to move around comfortably and no seating area at all. For three guests, there was nowhere to sit except on the beds, and simply walking around the room was difficult due to the tight layout. Breakfast was also not served. Two muffins were left for us despite the reservation being for three guests, and despite the booking form asking for dietary restrictions. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years throughout California--both coastal and wine country--and the experiences we've loved have always included warm hospitality, welcoming hosts, shared spaces to relax in, and memorable breakfasts. The common thread in these stays is that guests are encouraged to enjoy the home itself, interact with hosts, and relax in shared spaces. That sense of hospitality and atmosphere is the reason we choose B&Bs. While the building at The Parsonage is historic, Room 2 itself felt very modern and generic rather than reflecting the character of a historic inn. To be fair, the owners later pointed out that the website includes a detailed description and a floor plan showing the limited access for Room 2. However, we found the wording easy to misinterpret when booking, particularly given the B&B categorization, breakfast imagery on the site, and the dietary restriction field in the booking form. At approximately $280 for the night (including a $50 fee for a third guest), the experience did not match what we personally expect from a bed-and-breakfast stay. This room may work fine for travelers who simply want a small private room and plan to spend most of their time out in town. However, for guests specifically seeking the hospitality, shared spaces, and atmosphere that typically define a bed-and-breakfast experience, Room 2 may not meet those expectations.

The moment I walked in, I was hit with an overwhelming chemical smell--something like bleach, degreaser, or another strong cleaner. It was so overpowering that it made the room uncomfortable right away. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The bathtub drain was dirty, there were skid marks on the toilet seat, and there was hair left in the sink. None of those issues should ever be present in a room that's supposed to be cleaned before a guest arrives. The bedroom wasn't any better. The comforter had a noticeable blue stain and a rip in it. It was obvious the damage was visible before the bed was made, yet it was put on anyway. To make matters worse, there were actual boogers on the ceiling and another one on the bed frame. I have pictures documenting all of these issues. The hotel itself is clearly older, and while I understand older properties require more maintenance, many of these issues could have been addressed with basic housekeeping and attention to detail. There were also paint chips missing from the walls and several other small maintenance issues that would have been simple to repair. None of these are major renovations--they're basic touch-ups that would make a significant difference in the appearance and quality of the room. My reservation was originally for two nights, but the room was in such poor condition that I couldn't bring myself to stay a second night. I checked out after just one night because I simply wasn't comfortable spending another evening there. Considering the condition of the room and the price I paid, I do not feel I received the quality of accommodations I was promised. I would appreciate appropriate compensation for this experience. A room at this price point should be clean, well-maintained, and ready for guests upon arrival. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing and disgusting experience, and I will not be staying here again. The size of the rooms and available amenities simply do not make up for the lack of cleanliness and care. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously so future guests don't have the same experience.

Walking into the house, my girlfriend and I were transported into what felt like snow white's wonderland cabin. The teacups on the ceiling, the wood slab table with pie plates, the velvet couches... there are cozy little details everywhere; the more we looked, the more we were amazed. We were greeted by Priya, the owner of Flume's End who is a one-woman show. Her energy was contagious and I immediately felt at home. She showed us to our room, the Empire Suite, which has a huge bed, a gorgeous bathroom, and its own outside patio balcony. This is an all inclusive experience. Priya likes to leave out cookies for guests as "midnight snacks," and there's hot cocoa and coffee available all day! I can't say enough about the breakfast, which had everything you could ask for. Can we talk about the little parfait cups?!? And the mini egg dishes? I was living in tea party heaven. You can't beat staying at Flume's End. It's a 5 minute walk into downtown, and the backyard is a fairy forest that you can wander around and enjoy day & night. We'll be back!

The people who created Inn Town Campground are clearly outdoor adventurists who understand how camping can help us reconnect with nature. The grounds are spacious, immaculate, their staff is grounded and kind, and the facilities are immaculate. I wanted to move in. I felt like I was in the wild but fully pampered like I was at a retreat. The bathrooms are immaculate. The outdoor showers are phenomenal -- beats Zion hand's down. Yes, they have a cancellation policy J H, try to cancel at Zion lol. You won't get your money back. This place is a gem ... treat it as such.

A street runs right outside this window thus a privacy curtain is needed. A very easy walk to the old town center with lots of tourist trap shops and a few nice eateries. The room was nice and looked recently renovated. There were some minor gaps in the trim, but looked like they were putting some finishing touches on things. The shower door was a little difficult to move, but they said they would have maintenance look at it when I told them at checked out. Things looked pretty clean. Refrigerator looked new, and the TV worked fine. everything overall seemed recently redone. The rest of the property was pretty, there was a lawn area with a waterfall under the rail cars. The restaurant wasn't open while we were there unfortunately, and there were some containers for the repair work going on, but the staff was friendly. We were also walking distance from the downtown area of Nevada City. Overall we had a great stay.
