After reviewing the camp map, I found C1 shown as a pull thru site available for the week we would…read morebe staying. Easy peasy. Until 2 days before we are set to show up, I get an email and we have been moved to a back in site. When ask I was told pull thru sites are for are monthly renters. So why did your reservation system allow me to rent for a week? Then they tell me C1 isn't a pull thru site after all, although the map outside the store shows it as pull thru, great then I shouldn't have been moved give me C1. It is already filled. So a site I reserved was given to someone else and I never got an honest answer as to why. During the conversation the staff was rude and condescending. The camp store is not stocked well. The sites are close together and not level at all. The bath house smelled moldy. The worst campground we have ever stayed out.

They had a small playground and dusk golf course set up, for nice activities. The women's bathroom was adequate but my husband said the men's bathroom/shower was like a janitor's closet. We checked in on a Tuesday, which is a day they're mostly closed, so our check in process was a bit more awkward than it would have been otherwise. Overall it was a nice place to spend the night. It seemed like a lot of people had been leaving their trash behind in the fire pits rather than using the dumpster, which was pretty sad, and is probably difficult for the owners to keep up on. We stayed at a pristine campground last night where we were handed a garbage bag at check in, so I wanted to pass along the idea!

You can hear the river and wildlife that calls it home! Spacious lots and level, we did even have to use our levelers! Employees are nice, and they run a good campground for families! This is the campground to stay in - look no further! You will not be disappointed!

And she told me the camp spot was on the river front. We'll it was not what I imagined. It was around 50 yards away. You could not see the river from the camp site. We walked to it and their was brush on edge of the river and an 8' drop to the water. We had to walk around 100 to150 yards to find a spot to swim or fish. Water was pretty shallow. We did find a couple of holes to get wet and cool off. This was lot 63. For the price I paid, it should have been much better. I will not be going back.

So, we decided to upgrade to a tandem kayak, and had a great time. Special shout outs to both Joe, who got us all checked in, and Mark, the shuttle driver, who was very helpful with getting us into the water and entertaining.

We had a fantastic time using the canoes with SBC. Not only did we rent canoes for floating down…read morethe Elk River, we also stayed at the lodge which slept 12 of our 16 person Labor Day Party! The lodge had a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, two full bathrooms, and a BBQ pit in front. We used it all. You do have to bring your own linen and bedsheets, however, which was fine with us. Plenty of space for parking right outside too. One of our guests even decided to tent outside and there was room for that too. The lodge had private access to the Elk River where some of our patrons went to fish and soak in some of Americas most pristine water. We got to the lodge Saturday and partied hard. Sunday at about 10:30am, a driver brought a truck to the lodge and picked up our water coolers for River canoeing party so we didn't have to carry them next door. Then we walked over to the property next door where we found our canoes or sit on top kayaks to take down stream for a total of 8 miles. We completed our 8 miles of wet watery blissful fun in about 5-6 hours, stopping many times along the sides of the river for snacks and drinks. I can't remember another Labor Day where I have had more fun!

We've had a lovely weekend here in the area. This place would be great for a group get together too. The common areas and rooms are extremely comfortable. We were in The Easy Rider room and the bed was very nice and comfy. Loved the decor and art all over the house. Will be back!
