As others have commented, make no mistake about it: the services cost and sometimes, the sticker shock gets me, particularly considering the circumstances for the visit. There is a weekend charge, per day, per pet, and a holiday fee, per day, per pet whenever there is a holiday or it's APC's dedicated holiday season. While I expect to pay to have someone briefly interrupt their own holiday plans to handle the things with my kitties that I cannot, boy oh boy does it add up and quickly. A loyal customer discount or customer appreciation savings here and there would definitely be welcomed! That said, I know I can leave my pets in good, competent hands and that my home is secured, as well. They will tend to plants and pick up the mail, if you ask, and they do leave things orderly. We've been using Love Those Paws since 2015 to watch our cockatiels when we go on vacation. It is…read moremuch less expensive than boarding them at the vet and less stressful for the animals. The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

Also want to add that Stewart (when he came for the home visit) was wearing a mask and gloves to protect against COVID (a welcome sight). We have tried other groomers and he is usually very nervous during and after the grooming experience. As a result he would often have some uneven cuts and if not we would have complaints about him being wiggly or reports of him crying. When we arrived to pick up our pup from Rufflections he was happy, his tail was not tucked, he was wagging and completely relaxed! Our dogs are always happy and healthy when we return, and she leaves little notes letting us know things they did each visit. Dee also helped us find an excellent training place that has helped steer us in the direction of therapy dog for our latest rescue. While he was in obedience training, Dee worked with him on his commands for us. If you live in Southern Maryland, they are the people to call for your pet sitting needs! I highly recommend them!!!!
