Usually when I move to a new state, I find a car wash and car detailing place to call my own. Regardless of where I am, I like to have my car clean and looking spiffy. In Rhode Island, with the snow and salt and rains and so forth, it's even more important than ever. The location of Blue Wave is second to none, it's so convenient, located right off of West main road, across from stop & shop. They have the option of buying one at a time, a card with multiple passes, or the unlimited, allowing you to come as many times per month as you want. I opted for the unlimited pass because it just made more sense to me. Overall I haven't had many issues, however the issues that I have had were pretty substantial. One time, the moving mechanism stopped and the car behind me almost plowed into me. Another time one of the foam wappers got caught in part of the auto body of my car and tore off which was really disconcerting. During the summer months, the line can get pretty long, and I think that they turn the speed up on the wash, resulting in leaving soap on mirrors and so forth. I will keep coming because it's convenient, and a good price for me, but I think if they could do more, and improve their services by just tinkering with things a bit. Overall, good price, good location, good selection and as long as you don't have any customizable pieces on your car, you should be good. read more

Got my car fully detailed here. They left some kind of extremely abrasive cleaning solution on my hub caps and ruined all 4 of them. I texted them about it, sent photos, and they never replied. Also when I got in the car, it was wet and smelled like chemicals. Had to drive home with windows open because of the fumes. The moron who cleaned my car just completely overdid it with the cleaning chemicals. read more

It's fine for a quick wash. If you tip the guys well they do a really nice job. What do you expect from a thru wash. The guys are hard working and who wants to out in the cold in wet clothes all day. One of the best automated (hybrid) wash's I have been to. Great unlimited wash price! Talked to a gentleman who worked their about the services and he was quite courteous and helpful. Only reason for the star off was I ordered unlimited platinum on the website and ran into issues when I showed up. The transaction failed and the guy on the register seemed to be a bit irritated with me. They ended up giving me the wrong unlimited (gold vs platinum). Overall I plan to go back again and will update soon. read more

There aren't a lot of options for a car wash on the island, but this one holds up great. It's easy to get in, people are helpful, and the wash is great. It's a bit pricey for outside only wash ($20+). I also wish they had options for full service. I'd pay a little more to have them clean the inside. I'd pay a lot more for a wax. read more

They stopped taping down rear wipers on SUV's for some reason. They claimed it was because they changed their system so it was not necessary any more! 2 weeks ago it ripped my rear wiper off my Ford Expedition with only 17,000 miles and broke it. I went to Ford and purchased a new one within 1 hour. $95.04. The company called and refused to pay for the wiper because it looked to them like it was improperly installed from the factory! Needless to say, I got in my car and went to the carwash that it happened, 5907 Fm 2920 Rd, and cancelled my membership and will never go back. I have other friends that the same thing happened to them and they did the same. Unless you want it to happen to you too, I would look elsewhere for a dependable car wash. I would like to preface this review with the fact that I own cleaning company. This morning I had booked a long over due Interior detailing of my Q7, it was a mess. I met with Robert the gentleman who was going to be doing the work and he was very friendly and pleasant. He told me the work would take 3-3 1/2 hours to complete which seemed a little long but, as long as it is right I really didn't care. When I came in to pick up my car it was beyond my expectations, like dealer detailed, perfect! I have used several other "highly recommended auto detailers on the Island and was always disappointed, there were always things missed or not done correctly or poorly. A little upset with this establishment, I have a monthly membership for unlimited washes for roughly 30 dollars a month. A month ago I was double charged, hopefully on accident. I returned to this establishment and left my contact information for the owner/manager and haven't heard back since. The wash that I do pay for is decent and with the unlimited package I can go through again and again if anything was missed by the initial scrub. The employees are always nice and the wax treatment/ clear coat seems to do a decent enough job in repelling the dirt. This wash does provide onsite detailing, as well as, coin operated vacuums. Given the opportunity and coin roll I think this car wash could mange all of your car maintenance needs. read more

Most people would be pissed that their car was broken during the car wash. I am but hey things happen. It's an automated system so it is not perfect. I lost my antenna and months later I lost my rear windshield wiper blade. BUT both times the attendant went along the tracks and found my parts. Once they retrieved it, they took my information down and bent over backward to fix my car. When we discovered the antenna threads were stripped. He replaced both the antenna and threaded section for free (he had spare parts laying around). He treated it like it was his own car. When the rear windshield wiper was broken off, Dave picked up the new part from the dealer when it came in 2 days after it broke. He called me at home and kept me updated during the 2 days. Alan also was very helpful because once the part came in, he volunteered to replace it but I was in a hurry and did it myself at home. Maybe the car wash is not the best and a little run down but customer service is outstanding. It only has 13 reviews here on yelp but there are always people inline to get their car wash. Highway robbery. I got an express detail which was $47 and I tipped the nice but horrible worker another $10. The car was returned to us just as dirty. He did not wipe down the door sills, didn't even bother to vacuum parts of the car. We have a dog with white hair so you can see it. I was so appalled but really crunched for time that I got a towel and cleaned it myself and asked him to vacuum the obvious. I just don't get it. What did you do??? If I had more time I would've asked for the manager and asked for my money back. This place is S***. Don't even bother. Wash your own car and save $57. read more

BAD bad bad experience. Some SUV's rear windshield wiper got ripped off and was stuck in the spinny brush, then I was next! I was treated to a *WHAM* *WHAM* WHAM* as it beat the trash out of the side of my car. The attendant is supposed to be watching for these things, yes? He didn't even apologize when I swung back around at high speed. After months of arguing with the owner, I turned it over to my insurance who took them to court. All they had to do was pay for repairs at the place of my choosing, but they wouldn't. If all you need is to get the superficial dirt (like the dust) than this is an ok place.. you will get your car out of the machine and it will still be dirty, your windows will still have a bunch of spots that was not clean... than you grab your rag and do the work yourself... Let's talk about their vacuum.. oh my, let's not even go there!!! You pass it multiple times in the same spot and that loose dirt will not come out, and they ask you to keep it under five minutes and if their vacuum even worked.. being a while since I came over here for those same reasons, than I thought.. "maybe, just maybe I will give it another try" why bother.. waste of my money, now I have to go home and do the work myself. read more

WORST car wash in Newport. They attendants have no idea what they are doing. Got the managers special thinking I was getting a good deal, NOT! Attendant wet my car down with water then proceeded to take the wheel brush, out of the absolutely dirty brown water bucket wash of the front wheels and with brake dust attached proceeded to go down and wash the side of my car. HELLO to thousands of scratches. Now I have to spend $500 plus dollars to have a professional buff out all of the scratches these idiots put into my black paint. Blaaaahhh! For $10 they got some of the dirt of my SUV. However, it was splotchy. The rims are still caked in brake dust and there are splotches of dirt everywhere else. I MISS California car washes! Lines are extremely long and a very rude blue haired woman likes to come out of her shack and threaten customers if they aren't close enough together. I witnessed someone almost get rear ended because she was out there screaming at customers to move closer. Would not go back or recommend. read more

I can't give this place 5 stars because they don't always do the greatest job and they aren't completely full service. They do however offer rags to dry your car off. They have vacuums and upholstery cleaner. I really liked having the opportunity to clean my light beige seats. Being an UBER & LYFT driver part time, my car must stay spotless. I read some of the negative reviews and decided my Tahoe was filthy enough to take a chance. I purchased the gold service. $14 was a reasonable price for the services they provided. The attendants were pleasant and welcoming and did a great job on my rims and all the glass with the scrub brushes. I gave them a good tip and they thanked me. And the bonus is after you get through the blow dryer they provide can complimentary towels to touch up the few left over wet spots. Overall a great experience and my truck looks great! read more

Unhappy/Dissatisfied with Detail process. Lied to about price, car damaged, and detail could have been better. Feedback part of their website doesn't work. Have requested to be contacted by ownership regarding the following: 1) Pricing/Overcharge: Was twice quoted $200 for SUV (Land Rover LR3) for Full Exec Detail because of size of vehicle. First, when I brought the vehicle there in August and purchased the Gift Card for $200 (as a present to my wife). Second, when I showed up that morning (last Friday) and the Detailer stated the price was $200 but that "only gets you the first 4 hrs, its $50/hr after that". And that some people bring in their car "wrecked, a mess" but that I "looked great and should be no problem". Car was dropped off at 0810 and received call at 1136 that car was ready - so it took 3 hrs and 26 minutes, max. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle the same Detailer said it was $250 and the OWNER was making him charge me that because "that is what we are supposed to charge cars that have a 3rd row". WTF!? Where was this information at 0810 this morning? Despite protest, he said he was stuck with having to charge me that, and he had my keys, so I paid it, elected not to tip him (not satisfied) and left, figuring just bad feedback, negative words to friends and the loss of my business long term would be enough. FYI, they have their own price sheet in the detail shop that is not available online, or on the scheduling website, nor do the car wash operators have it! (I took picture of it 2) But then, my wife got in the car the next morning and noticed something damaged. The center console handle is broken, to the point of pieces falling off. Speaking to the Dealership the only way this happens is by slamming it shut too hard. 3) overall the condition of the detail was "Good, but could have been better". The inside of the car looks like a brand new car, the outside looks like it might not have been touched except by the drive thru car wash machine itself. The windshield was not cleaned other than the run through the car wash (wasn't wiped at all - can see the windshield wiper shadows still, don't worry I wiped it off easily), the glove compartment wasn't touched (not sure its included) and the floor mats were soaked with some slippery spray that took 2 days to dry. There is a suspect scratch/dent on the center of the hood that looks like something was dropped/dragged on it, but I cannot attest to it not being there before hand - but only noticed it now. ADVICE: Go somewhere else, or video tape the car before hand and videotape the price quote. read more

What a complete waste of money. The $14 option - which supposedly included specific rim and wheel cleaning - did not include rim and wheel cleaning. I had driven across country and a lot of the stuff that was caked on my front bumper was still there after the wash. The dry cycle left a lot of water spots and even some soap, and when I went to their "customer service station" there were no clean towels, so that I could have hand dried the car myself, after paying $14.. The station is what it is, I wouldn't pay more than $5 for this level of service. Probably won't be back. read more
