First time coming here and it was absolutely delicious! I came with my mom on a whim and got the mussels to start. It was in a delicious garlic white wine sauce with garlic. As for our main entrees, we shared the ribs and chicken parm. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. We also got a side of the Hot Honey Brussel Sprouts. It have the sweet tasty of honey and were also so very crunchy. Will definitely be ordering them when I return. As for dessert, we shared the carrot cake. I find their food is fantastic. People are complaining about the prices but would be amazing burger that is rather large you get fantastic french fries with it so for $20 you're getting a burger cooked to perfection and amazing french fries so somewhere else you might pay $13 and the burger is hit or miss and it doesn't come with fries so it's up to you if you're going to bitch about that or not. I've been ordering them from DoorDash for the last few weeks and never been disappointed one time. Good food cost a little bit more but you're worth it. At least I'm worth it read more

The food is good. Tasty, fresh. Ate there a couple of times on weeknights and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we then made the mistake of taking friends there on a Saturday night. We waited a ridiculously long time for our entrees, and when they finally arrived only four of the six of us were served. The server was totally oblivious, didn't even notice until we brought it to her attention and still did nothing. The two unfortunate guests went hungry until one of us finally got up to find the manager, who to her credit rectified the situation and comp'd us for the missing meals. But by then it was too late, the evening was spoiled and we were embarrassed to have recommended the place to our friends. Probably won't be back and certainly won't bring friends here. read more

Bluebird Kitchen was a good place to go. It's a nice atmosphere and the food was good. I didn't say very good compared to some other restaurants we have been too but it was good. We would go back but not in a hurry. If I could remember what we ordered I would review it but it was a long time ago and I have short term memory loss. We have been waiting for it to open for months and went on Tuesday. I totally understand the staff needs to be more refined since clearly they seemed a bit unorganized. I get that takes time but its critical. I went with my wife and son (who mentioned he emailed the chef and mentioned lack of seasoning). My first issue is they sat us right by the entrance and there were plenty of booths available so I didn't need everyone passing by constantly. I could have asked to move but didn't. Also, the manager was giving instruction to the bus staff in the middle of the restaurants...I think that should be done out of sight of patrons. Bottom line the staff needs to step up soon. I ordered a drink and it took 10 minutes to get it. It was quite good though. For appys we got the meatballs we very good but no meatball is worth ~ $6 each...3 for $17. The cucumber salad would be better if it had a more flavorful dressing with more acidity. It was bland. For mains I had the fried chicken sami, it was good but I don't think the chef should decide how much hot (wasn't hot at all) honey should be drizzled on. My opinion is put it on the side and let the customer decide not unlike ketchup or mayo. Mine was very messy to eat. My wife had the burger which is touted as dry aged beef but to be honest it was a thin patty...didnt look like 8oz. My son had the Chix parm and it tasted good. That said the cutlet was basically a whole breast which mean one side was thick and the other thin. I prefer even and pounded chicken breast/cutlet. Portions should be equal. My sami came with really good fries as did the burger. The burger had way more fries than the chicken. Looked like they wanted to just make the plate look full. Finally, staff was good and attentive but needs to see if a diner is still picking. They came by 3 times to ask if we were done. Also, when ready to pay I had to wait for the credit card device being used at another table. It took longer than necessary. Bottom line, they need to improve in both food and service. I will wait a month and go back to try again. Agree its expensive for what it is. read more

I ordered a pasta dish and I found a hair in my dish. They were very nice about it. The pasta was over cooked but their were giant pieces of uncooked pasta. They let me order something else but it ruined my appetite altogether. The place was small and it was nice but I will not be returning. read more

Wouldn't recommend. My friend and I both got really sick from the burgers. I think this is more of a drinks and apps place. We got mozzarella sticks and smac and cheese to start and both were good. The cocktails were also good. The chicken sandwich was awful. Burgers were completely flavorless and any fast food burger is worlds better than this one. The banana cream pie was terrible. Carrot cake overly sweet and inedible. Cookies were OK- weird taste to them. And then 2 of us getting really sick for 2 days is enough to never return. So many better restaurants in this area. If you want a 10/10 place in the area go to Blackbird instead. read more

I made a mistake of making a resevation without checking if there would be an event at the same time. We got there and the hostess seated us directly behind the event comprising of a lot of people.The event soured the mood for out first time at Bluebird and the brunch options were subpar. The brunch menu is very limited. We've been to other restaurants where the event space was more conveniently separated for regular customers to enjoy the atmosphere. Our server was amazing and very attentive but still doesn't really help the fact that the event behind our table consisted of a lot of people all mingling and talking at the same time. Overall, it was a bad experience. We will never come back. read more

The first and LAST time I try blue bird kitchen. About a month ago I was eager to dine in this establishment with my girlfriend. I didn't want to have to write this review however I wake up every morning and have thoughts roaming my head about how horrific this place is. We had ordered the Burger and the chicken sandwich to split so we could each try both. After the first bite of the burger I was in absolute agony. It was so burnt and crunchy. Never did I think biting into this burger would it taste like a tire covered in dirt and rhino poop. And don't even get me started on the chicken sandwhich. That monstrosity had me stuck on the toilet bowl for over 17 hours. The chicken sandwhich looked like fried donkey toes and tasted like my houses dry wall. I'm so embarrassed that this place is in my home town. I will never ever eat here again. Do better blue bird. If your having a bad day and you want to make it worse. Eat here. read more

Great spot! I am a regular at their sister location in South Williamsburg and Bluebird did not disappoint. The staff and interior is inviting and warm(has a Southern Hospitality feel) and their music transports me back to my youth. Plenty of parking and love their beer menu! read more

I really hope that this place gets its act together, because it has a lot of potential, but left a lot to be desired in its execution. We went as a family of four and were out on a Wednesday night for my son's 15th birthday. Apps ordered were mozzarella sticks and meatballs. Both came out quick, were delicious and served hot, and artistically. For an upcharge (I think $7.00) we ordered the dinner rolls. They were 6 ping pong ball sized dinner rolls, served in a pan. Very cute, very tasty, but kind of chinsey for the upcharge in my opinion. Unfortunately, the kitchen was backed up, as we ended up waiting about 45 minutes to an hour before the main course came out. This, unfortunately necessitated the need to order another order of the rolls. So basically we got hit with like $15.00 for bread. I get that its their thing, but it did annoy me. Food came out. I ordered the Filet, side of brussell sprouts. It was cooked well, to my specifications, and the wine sauce (additional side) was great. It seemed small for an 8 Oz filet, but I didnt bring my scale, so I will take their word for it. Daughter ordered the chicken parm with papardelle. I tried it. Cutlet had good crisp, the sauce was solid, and cheese was fresh mozarella. No complaints. Pasta was cooked perfectly with a decent sauce. Son got the burger and said it was pretty good. Not great. Fries were solid. My wife got the fish, didn't try it, but she said it was perfect. Our plates sat around a while and were not out of the way by the time dessert came. So while we sang HPD for my son, we also were kind of bussing our table. I'm not trying to knock the place. I get that we are in a pandemic, and they may have been short staffed. I really hope that they get it together, because it had potential. Our waitress was lovely, accommodating, and very apologetic. But for a random Wednesday night, it was just a long, drawn out, ok experience. At the price point, and hype, I wanted them to be better. read more

I went to dinner with my wife at Bluebird last night. The service was good, but the food came out a little too quick, we had appetizer and 2 entree and were done in 40 minutes, so it felt rushed. We were seated near the servers station and could hear a lot of the staffs comments about fellow staff. Not exactly the ambiance we were hoping for. I had a bourbon and red pepper drink that tasted more like a Bloody Mary then a bourbon drink. We had the mussels, which had very little flavor, they were fine, just bland. For our entrees we had the fried chicken sandwich and gnocchi. The gnocchi was cold and mushy. The batter on the chicken sandwich feel off leaving us with a sloppy chicken sandwich with fried shell on the side. Fries were hot and tasty, the only good food we had. To their credit the manager asked how our was and when we replied just alright she asked if she could buy our next round, which was polite but we declined as our first round wasn't good. She provided us with some cookies to go to make it right which is why I'm giving 3 stars. Overall I could see this place being hit or miss. Food is a bit overpriced, which would be fine if the quality was better. Unfortunately this will be a one and done visit for us. read more
