They seem to have every brochure ever printed and definitely can help you plan an amazing trip! I've been in a few times, which is saying something as I'm quite happy to book all of my own travel online. Travel agents can just do the odd thing easier than I can. They were very helpful when we had a completed flight booking for one person, and wanted to book for another person and link the reservations and book seats. They did come up more expensive than if I had done it online myself though, as they charge a flat commission on some things (like flights). When I mentioned that I'd just go home and book it to save the £25, as I found it cheaper online, they immediately matched the price and made the booking. The other couple of times we've been in is to discuss cruises. We've been on a few and really enjoy them, but as we're new to it, some advice is always helpful. I'm very keen to go to St Petersburg and they even suggested a specialist ferry/cruise service that they can book, that I'd never even heard of (it wasn't for us, but still!) I do find that the cruise specialist is really knowledgeable but he does push the more expensive lines. But when it comes down to it, he is right, the lines he's suggesting are a better fit to our personality and what we want out of a holiday - even though we can't yet make it there with our budget. And while he may encourage us to upscale, he doesn't discourage us from our choice. A good compromise! A great place to go for lots of information and advice.

Since that time I've used United at least half a dozen times and I've given them out to friends. Basically, I like them because: * When I call up, they identify me by name, apparently I'm on some screen somewhere that says I'm a regular customer (or so I'd like to think) * Their prices are WAY lower than a black cab, and very competitive compared to other car services. * The drivers are nice; they don't always know the way but that's what GPSes are for (I would like to point this out to the black cab drivers, who with their elitist mentality don't realize memorizing London maps is dépassé) . * They've been reliable, except for one incident where I got the runaround after extreme lateness of the driver. The use of credit card to tap on and off is easy. We waited for two boats to pass before we could board because boats were full. Our wait was about 30 minutes. On a rainy day, it was hard to see much once onboard. The windows are a bit foggy. The seats are comfortable and the on board cafe is a nice touch for coffee. The ride is smooth and relaxing. The ride was ok but we decided to return via Tube as the trip is easier and quicker. I think the ride could be lovely on a sunny day. I can't imagine using the boats for needed transportation since boarding time is unpredictable.

Today we boarded at The Eye and traveled up the river to Greenwich to party in the market area. Boarded again the river bus and traveled back to the Embankment pier to continue our exhausting day at Tattershall Castle.

It cost £41 (about $56) for us to travel from Bankside Pier near our hotel to Greenwich. Initially the fare struck me as a bit on the high side, but I have to admit it was an extremely efficient ride. It made a few stops en route, but hey, there were plenty of seats available. I guess we missed the crowds we heard about. Instead we enjoyed the undercarriage view of the Tower Bridge and the passing boats and ferries. Our waits at both piers were without incident. There are plenty of seats available inside their boats. Restrooms are available to use. Snacks and drinks are sold on board the boat as well. Prices are fair. We used our London Pass to get onboard. It was a wonderful way to explore London. You can see so many sights along the route. Views are awesome of various London landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye, and the Parliament Building just to name a few. Beats the views you see riding the Tube (Subway). Give Uber Boats a go when you are in London Baby!!!!
