Could use some kitchen towels and basic spices but it was no big deal as we brought most of our own. Lots of stairs in case that makes a difference for some. Carpeting in many areas if you are allergy prone. Many games and areas in the house to spread out yet still be together. We loved the place and would rent again . Beautiful porch and chairs to enjoy especially in the evening. Close to boardwalk to beach for walking or using a golf cart if you rent one.

Very Disappointing Stay -- Property Was Not as Advertised…read more Property: Salt and Horns by Silver Sands Vacation Rentals Address: 845 Park Place, Port Aransas, TX 78373 Unfortunately, our stay at this property was extremely disappointing. The home is advertised as a higher-end Port Aransas vacation rental with amenities such as a private pool and hot tub, but what we experienced did not match what we felt was represented when booking. During our stay, we encountered numerous problems: * Pool was not working and was not clean * Hot tub did not work * Outside stair handle was broken * Back door handle was broken, and doors did not properly work or lock * Master bathroom toilet would not flush properly * Downstairs toilet was loose/wobbly and did not flush properly * Back sliding door would not lock at all * Broken chair on the patio * Wasp nests around the patios * Trash around the perimeter of the property * Refrigerator would not shut properly and the light did not work * Dishwasher smelled terrible * Open cereal/food was left in the cabinets * Most concerning, bunk-bed steps came loose while a child was climbing them Some of these are inconveniences, but others are legitimate safety and security concerns, especially doors that do not lock and bunk-bed steps failing while a child is using them. When families spend their hard-earned money on a vacation rental, especially one advertised at this level, they should reasonably expect the major amenities to work and the property to be clean, secure, and properly maintained. The location has a lot of potential, but based on the condition we experienced, we cannot recommend 845 Park Place in Port Aransas without significant improvements being made. Our biggest disappointment wasn't that one or two things went wrong -- things happen. It was the number of problems throughout the property and the feeling that many of them should have been caught before guests were ever allowed to check in.

The HOA builder put a fraudulent lien on my unit stemming from a scheme to profit off Harvey damage that I refused to participate in. When I questioned why they only confirmed with the builder if the lien was valid, they informed me it was in the middle of an attachment among the many other attachments they sent me and they had no obligation to affirmatively check with me about whether the lien was valid and that level of notification was adequate, even if they have no record I opened the document since it's not signed, and there was no email discussion around the issue. Whomever processed the file didn't recognize that regardless of whether the lien was valid, if it was stale it was unenforceable. We did get it straightened out at the last second, so they get 2 stars for that, but this was completely avoidable and a little basic communication would have resolved this quickly and easily.

They provided false information about the costs of managing the property to get us to buy. In order to avoid legal action, Marnie adjusted their property management rate, but after a few years decided they were not making enough money off of us to continue to manage. She then breached our contract that stated our booked guests were portable and stole all of our booked guests. She refused to provide full financial disclosure of our property's rental income and refused to review accounting discrepancies that have led us to believe her management company was skimming money from us. In addition, we found our property to have been completely neglected by her management company. Every appliance in the house was broken in some way, yet we were never informed. Guests reviews were so bad we couldn't transfer the reviews to a new listing.
