Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at the Harley-Davidson store in Louisville, KY. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. One representative was especially patient and kind as I FaceTimed with my son so he could choose the shirt he wanted -- she didn't rush me at all and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. She also took the time to show me the children's section, where they had the cutest little jackets! I picked up a few great items (as listed on my receipt below), and was impressed with their small but thoughtful selection for kids -- something you don't always see in every Harley store. They accept tap-to-pay, which was convenient, and the parking lot is wheelchair accessible, which is a big plus. The only downside came during checkout. When the representative asked if I had a Harley-Davidson account for points, I explained that I was just passing through and didn't. She told me that points could only be earned at that specific store -- which I later learned is not true. Harley-Davidson reward points should apply across locations. So unfortunately, I won't be getting credit for my purchase. Whether it was a misunderstanding or a lack of training, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise great visit. This review is for the Basic Riding Course offered at Bluegrass Harley Davidson, March 2025. Although I do not have firsthand experience of taking this particular class here at the Bluegrass Harley Davison, I did help my SO enroll, gain access to the online portion, and sat through majority of the day-1 classroom portion, observe the day-2 classroom activity, day-2 riding range, and day-3 riding range. On day 1, students are required to have their completion certificate for the online portion, a long sleeve shirt or jacket, long pants or jeans without rips, over the ankle footwear, full fingered gloves, eyewear, and a D.O.T. approved motorcycle helmet (the brochure does specify that the helmet must be full face or 3/4, and indicates that no half helmets are permitted, however, this specific note regarding the half helmet is not included in the email sent to students). There were a few loaner helmets available for those whose helmets were not D.O.T. or training compliant. Both the classroom and range are done at the Bluegrass Harley Davidson facility. The classroom is located on the second floor above the showroom and the riding range is the parking lot to the left as you are looking at the building. During day 1, students are given a tour of the Bluegrass Harley Davidson facility and shown a bike similar to what they will use during the range days. The instructors, Randy & Ed, were friendly once we met them in person. My only qualm is in all the pre-class emails, they stated that if there are any questions prior to the class starting, you could use the email address provided. We did send an email 2 or 3 days prior to the class starting, but no one ever responded. The classes are set up for 12 riders at a time, which is great and gives the students enough interactive time with the instructors. The class uses Jump Start 500 for training bikes [similar to the one pictured, except this shows a 750]. For taller or heavier students, this bike may be a bit small, but they should be able to manage for two days of training. The range day is two full days that goes over a series of riding exercises. First, one instructor is on the bike dempmstrating to the students what needs to be done. The other instructor verbally explains it, and then the students will do the activities themselves. Although there are no designated lunch periods, students are able to stop and eat or use their breaks to eat if they bring food. Water and granola bars were provided. I think the class is worth the $150 value. The online course portion's fee is waived and throughout the training, students get water and granola bars, as stated above. At the end of training, students receive a completion certificate, their MSF safety foundation card, a written test waiver for Kentucky license holders - good for 1 year from the class date, and a Harley Davidson t-shirt. Bought a new CVO ST and the risers are terribly crooked and was told at 1,000 mile service they would fix. They tried to charge me $360 to fix and I disagreed so they loosened them and cranked them a little and said there you go. Left side is 1" forward of right. When I spoke with manager he told me to fly a kite. NEVER BUY FROM HERE!!! read more

We stopped in here during our trip back from Lexington - as both my work colleague and I own Harley's - we weren't here to buy bikes or get service work done. Instead, we stopped in to check out the clothing, accessories, and ooh and aah over the bikes. This place is rather cavernous inside - meaning it's pretty large! I bought a couple of H-D license plates for friends, as well as a kickstand floor protector, a variety of H-D t-shirts and muscle shirts, and the H-D dealership poker chips and pins. An amazing dealership. My saddlebag tore off my bike as I was heading west. They were the closest service place. I stopped in told them my situation, and not only did the work on my bike immediately, the did the work for free. They have a great show room, and gave the all important military discount. Being a Harley rider for years and even purchasing them brand new off the showroom floor before, I was completely shocked and amazed at how we were treated at Bluegrass Harley. I've been to the other Harley shop; in fact, that's where most of my business has always been, only because of previous rumors about how Bluegrass was awful to shop at. Now with new ownership though, that is NOT the case! I was purchasing my daughter her 1st Harley. It was NOT a brand new one; in fact, it was a 2010, which is 9 years old now, but you would have thought I was purchasing her a brand new CVO, the way we were treated! J. Boo (7 foot Jason) was our sales person; he never once treated us like he had better things to do, since we weren't purchasing a new bike, nor did he push us into purchasing something we didn't want, which was helpful considering my daughter is small and picky. He seemed just as happy for my daughter as she was to get her first Harley. The same went for Jason Hinds, the finance guy. With this being a cash purchase, he gave us our options and let us think overnight on them. I guess he sensed my commitment issues to large purchases. Also, we were not there the whole day trying to negotiate the price and get the purchase settled. I would say my daughter and I spent more time in the clothing department than the actual purchase of the bike. The clothing department is another great area with wonderful deals. Jennie I believe is her name, is a ball of energy, who too was as excited for my daughter on the purchase of the bike as we were. She also took the time to find my daughter a jacket that appeased her picky butt! Due to the fact that my daughter needed to return to work, we came back the following weekend to finish up. By finishing up, I mean Bluegrass walks you round the store to meet all the associates in the different departments. They go over their department with you, letting you know how they can help you then and in the future. Even other sales associates come and congratulate you on your purchase. Bluegrass Harley speaks of the family atmosphere and treatment, and let me tell you, they stand by that. I will be purchasing my next bike there, and recommend anyone else to do the same as well. Along with having a much much bigger selection, they also have a very distinct, customized selection of bikes as well. The sales experience is good enough, what comes after is a nightmare. They don't stand behind the product, their word, or the warranty. They will fight you on fixing anything. I spent over $30,000 on a 2021 Street Glide and they won't fix the inner fairing they messed up in final assembly. Jeff, the dealership general manager, is rude, condescending, and hung up on me. Their service team is unpreffessional and unwilling to help. They will not fix your bike under warranty. I will never buy from them again. I will likely never buy another Harley again. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and buy at literally any other dealership. read more

Drove all the way from Winchester on Labor Day just to get a ride in and buy a shirt. I checked the website before I left and it said the store was open from 10-7 pm. We got there right at 4:00 and a guy met me at the door and said they were closing because of special Labor Day hours. I asked if I could run in and get a shirt real quick and he just locked the door. I can't believe they would close early on Labor day of all days. I understand it is there decision when they want to close but my big problem was they had the wrong information on their website and the rudeness of the guy at the door. I have nothing but positives about this joint. I first visited almost 2 years ago, and just recently purchased an '04 HD Road King. Steve and Marty in service should both be given special acknowledgement because Steve spent 20 minutes on the phone helping me understand what maintenance my ride will need, and Marty helped me adjust my highway pegs to the perfect location. My experience purchasing my Harley was a very positive one at Bluegrass Harley. The people were nice and not arrogant like the hard core ones near UL. I have enjoyed my Harley for over 2 years now but the only negative experience was the use of Park Federal as was recommended for my loan. I paid off y loan early (shame on me) and was harassed for money that they said I had owed them since I no longer had an active loan with them. In order to get a load I had to open a saving account with the bank with $5 so I did but when I paid off the load they started charging me a monthly charge on my savings account of the $5. After having to visit the branch they did credit my account for the negative balance and but what was really ridiculous is that they kept my $5. If you have a choice look at other financial institutions for your load is my advise. read more

I had passing lights put on. Had ordered all the part on line. Went to pick up the bike and was told that I didn't order the bulbs . Ok so I took off on my 60 mile trip home got half way there and it just didn't seem right . Pulled out my receipt and sure enough I had already paid for them. Went back and after some bull they said they would add it back to my card. Never happened . Over charged me 75.00 and I have to drive back up there. Have all the receipts . Talk about pissed!!! My husband and I visited another Harley-Davidson dealership in the area and received service that lacking to say the least. A friend suggested that we go to Bluegrass Harley-Davidson. The customer service we received great, and their internal poker run was really nice. We met both of the new owners and didn't feel like the service we were receiving was only a result of purchasing from them. I was only going to give 4 starts due to the slightly less than professional assistance from Carl in the Parts department, but I received a call back from Brad who was super polite, efficient and professional. I think the key to a good business is the service after the sale. So far they have exceeded our expectation. well my husband took his bike in on Saturday for service and they said they didn't have the part so when he asked did you check other Harley Davidson dealership if they have it. they said no one has it. my husband called around and Lexington man of war has 4 and wildcat London had 8 in stock. Bluegrass told us it would be two weeks before we would get our bike back. also on their web page they say they are opened on Sundays and Facebook says they are closed but when you call they are open. we have brought 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles there.its good service when you buy a bike but when you need service they suck. also on Saturday he was there a hr before they open before anyone else and when. they opened up they took someone in before him. he was told first come first serve. All I can say I don't like to be lied to. very poor service and employees very rude. read more

My wife and I went in to spend our gift card from accumulated Harley Visa points. We found plenty of nice apparel and gift items in the store. On the way out my wife tried a couple of the low models out for size because she cannot plant both feet on her FXDI. Needless to say between the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, she has an early Christmas present that fits just right. Kudos to Evan Schipper and his excellent staff.
