Bluegrass does good work and provides good value. That is true. But as a warning to others, there are a few things they don't do: 1) They don't put in writing the agreed upon work. 2) If they don't complete a part of the job that was discussed during the quote, they won't return to complete the job. 3)They will not even respond to messages about the incomplete part of the work (see photo). Proceed with caution. Write down all the things you want them to do, and go through your list before you pay. Once they are paid, there is no customer service. read more

First of all, I would like to say that Marcell and Bluegrass Landscaping & Tree Service did a very good job responding quickly and taking care of the work that I needed completed. I've had a large composter for years that was made of stakes and wire. I attempted to remove it from my backyard by myself and was able to get a lot of the compost out and hauled away and to partially dismantle the composter. However the stakes were really into the ground and it became a huge job for me. I called around to various landscaping/tree services to get a quote for the job, and many didn't even call me back. The ones that did were cost prohibitive. Marcell contacted me pretty much right away and came out the next day to do an estimate. He then told me how much it would be, and that he would be on the job the very next day. As I had things to do, I couldn't stick around. Marcell advised that he and his assistant would get the job done and then text me the pictures of the job when it was finished. Initially the customer service was great and when they arrived to see the work that needed to be done I thought communication was clear. Day of work I couldn't be on-site. They sent pics of what was done and everything looked great. I asked if they also cleared below the deck and I was told "yes". Hence the 5 star review. Once I sent the money that's when things went down hill. I took a look at the property and everything looked great except below deck which wasn't touched even though I was told it was. I brought this to their attention 4 days ago and I haven't gotten a response. I wouldn't recommend based on the dishonesty and no intention to remediate. 3 stars because the rest of the property was done as requested. read more

I hired Bluegrass to remove a mini-forest of trees and shrubs that had taken over a large portion of our backyard. The goal was to have it removed, plant privacy trees along our fence and add a 150' x 30' are of new sod. They showed up quickly to provide a quote for the job on a Thursday evening and started the job the following Monday. The forest removal took about 7 - 8 days of steady work by a team of folks. They came on a Saturday and trimmed a bunch of trees in our side and front yard that were badly in need of a trimming. Left the job neat and clean at the end of every work day. We're we're very pleased too with the job that they did planting the 40 privacy trees for us and prepping the dirt and laying the sod for us. I wish we had done it years earlier, it was a big job but they did the whole thing within our budget. We highly recommend them, they were great. They worked diligently, kept a very clean site while doing messy work, the team were all nice people and their pricing was extremely reasonable. read more

I normally go into work around 7, but I had to go in late so that I could be there to get the estimate. 9:00 rolls around and I message them trying to confirm they're on the way. No response. I called, no answer. I send another message at 9:10, saying that if they don't contact me by 9:20 I'm leaving. Finally at 9:20 I called again and someone answered. The guy seemed oblivious to having an appointment with me at all. His response was, "Sorry, I can be there by 11". Ended up wasting like 3 hours of my day because of these fools. As many others have noted this business is unreliable and unresponsive. We set an appointment for 7:30pm on Friday. At 8:30pm I sent a message asking what happened, because no one showed up and I received an apology and asked to reschedule for the next day - I agreed and asked what time they were available. I didn't get a response back, so I called and left a message today asking if they were still able to come give an estimate. I received a text message back asking how they could help. I immediately responded back to the text and 2 hours later I still haven't received a response. I cannot recommend using this business, because if they are this unresponsive on the front end I can't imagine what it is like to actually work with them. read more

I had Bluegrass clear a 4 foot path around my fence-line, take down small trees, and cut up large fallen trees. I live next to Rockcreek Park and have lots of vines, wild roses, and invasive growth.
