STAY AWAY. These guys are BUTCHERS. I was visiting Bowling Green with my beautiful 1971 corvette (historic plates, numbers matching). As a precaution, I asked them to replace a squeaky clutch bearing. They treated the car like garbage, and then ultimately destroyed the original transmission due to their incompitance. I was furious. I had to replace everything they touched, including buying a whole new transmission. It cost me $7500 to fix their mistakes. Here are the details: I was told by Bluegrass that the bearing job was "easy" and it would only take one day. Two days after, the car still wasn't working properly. It was obvious that they couldn't care less if the car was ready on time. I discussed a pickup time on the phone. When I got there it wasn't ready. I was told that the "mechanic" working on my car left early that day. Then the next day I was told that he never showed up for work. Bluegrass recommended replacing the clutch at the same time as the bearing. But they never bothered to machine the flywheel before installing the new clutch. Talk to any mechanic. This is basic stuff. This "transmission shop" literally has no idea how to install a clutch. This mistake made the clutch chatter and made the whole car shake. I brought it to the owner's attention and he proceeded to "fix" the problem in front of me by burning the clutch (literally revving the engine until I could smell the clutch smoking). I'm not kidding. Once he realized that wasn't helping the problem, I was told "not to put the clutch in that position". Nice. How exactly do you work the clutch without going through the middle pedal position? I found out later that while working on the car, they tried to put a jack under the oil pan, which of course, completely crushed it. You can see the teeth marks from the jack imprinted in the metal. Any mechanic knows that you are not supposed to put a jack under this area of the engine. The damage they did could have easily starved the motor from getting oil and destroyed the original engine along with the transmission. Wow. DO NOT take you car here. NOT WORTH THE RISK After I paid for the work, I pulled out of their driveway with my "repaired" corvette. As soon as I stepped on the gas, I heard a loud bang and my first gear was completely torn apart. I found out later from my mechanic that Bluegrass didn't adjust the shifter rods correctly, so the first gear was only engaged half way. So of course, as soon as I applied some power, the gear teeth all broke apart. Idiots. With all the metal in the gearbox, I could hear my transmission eating itself from the inside. I was absolutely pissed. But I had to wait for 2 hours outside to talk to the owner because he was "busy driving a school bus" wtf?? Why are you driving a bus during business hours if you have the "leading transmission shop" in town? When I finally talked to the owner, he took zero responsibility for the damage, and refused to give me any money back. To add insult to injury, Bluegrass completely trashed the underside of my car. All the insulation around the transmission was ripped apart and had to be replaced by my mechanic. There were dents and scratches everywhere from their tools. My car was clean and waxed when I dropped it off. They gave it back to me covered in mud from their unpaved parking lot. Never bothered to wipe it off, or return it as they found it. These guys will not respect your car. They will destroy your car. They will take your money and run. BUYER BEWARE. read more

So nice! Our car suddenly broke down and we thought it was the transmission. Luckily it was only a cable. They were so courteous and straightforward with us. We knew the problem within a few hours, and they had it fixed in just over a day (granted our problem was minor). If I could give these guys negative stars I would. I'm not a "yelper" but if by writing this review will save someone their money and time, I'm happy to do it To start, I brought my truck into Bluegrass a couple weeks before Christmas. It needed a rebuilt transmission put into it, and I was referred by a teacher of mine. The transmission that they've put into my truck has gone out twice now since they first installed it. The first time happened on the highway about 200 miles from home and had to be towed all the way back with money and gas out of my own pocket. Luckily I didn't need my truck right away because I was visiting friends over break,but it took them over 2 weeks to get fixed. The second time happened about a week and a half ago. I had a completely reasonable desire that the truck repairs would be finished in a week. The main shop owner has lied to me 3 times in saying when the truck would be done. I dropped it off on a Monday. The owner said it would be done by Thursday..Then he said it would be done the next day...I told him I really needed it done by Monday because I had body work scheduled to be done on it; still not finished and he has told me that he doesn't know when it will be done.....Don't waste your time and money on these guys. Definitely not skilled at what they do. I am basically out 1800$ on a transmission. read more
