These doctors are phenomenal, and are very caring and the staff is wonderful. They took great care of our cat " Calypso ". She is doing well and is happy. Thank you to all the staff at Blue pearl. I will always send people to you. You guys are superb !!!

One of the last days she was able to sleep on top of her owner, something they both enjoyed very much.

The Death of Midnight simply wasn't supposed to happen. Today 7/22/25, four months after my first pleasant visit to this hospital, located in Carrollwood at 3000 Busch Lake Blvd, Tampa, FL 33614 (near the corner of Busch Blvd. and Twin Lakes Blvd). We are appalled with the outcome of this second visit. What a horrible feeling resentment is. That's what I feel now after my experience at aforementioned hospital at this time, I'm writing this review under the influence of that feeling that keeps me awake at night and has been crying from helplessness ever since. My wife and I took my cat there worried about her health. She already had a kidney condition and had become very thin, but when she came in from the outdoor walking unusually with her head down, we decided to take her to the emergency room right away. She was diagnosed with dehydration, anemia, and an infection, so they recommended she be admitted for some tests, intravenous fluid rehydration, and antibiotics. I was worried because the cat only weighed 3.5 pounds, and I doubted she would survive the treatment plan proposed by the team of specialized doctors, assistants, and nurses. I expressed my doubts to the doctor in charge of the case. She was honest enough to tell me that Midnight's survival, as my cat was called, wasn't guaranteed, but that the medical plan to help her improve her health was sound. Although I didn't like the answer, and I told her so, I placed my hope in the plan; the cat undoubtedly needed it to live a little longer. What I didn't realize was that such a decision was her death sentence. The doctor explained to me that my cat wouldn't let the IV be administered and that it wasn't possible to obtain blood and urine samples, so she would have to be sedated, assuring me that it would be very light. I liked this even less (now I remember it as the cat's last fight for her life). Finally, we agreed to admit her. At 3:30 in the morning we received the dreaded call, the cat was dying, that although they were monitoring her, they doubted she would recover and that they would call us to pick her up around 9:00 am. We decided to go to the hospital immediately, then they assured us that we would hardly get there in time to see her alive, When we arrived, about 10 minutes later she had already died, they took us to the private room to see her and showed her to us while she was still on the stretcher. I stroked her head, neck, and front shoulder blades. Despite my state of emotional shock, I could notice the stiffness of her little body. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time; I just wanted to get her out of there. Once home, I opened the box she was delivered in and tried to reposition her, since her head and hindquarters were hitting the edges of the box. I then became aware of how completely stiff she was. It was impossible to reposition her, as can be seen in the attached photo. According to the doctor on duty she died of cardiac arrest, but they couldn't know what caused it. Really!!??? In any case, it makes no sense to me to delve into the cause of her death, it simply shouldn't have happened. Nothing will revive her or alleviate this oppressive feeling of guilt that I feel. I thank those who in good faith tried to help our beloved pet and condemn those who in any way caused her death. Let each one bear their own responsibility. I will not return to this hospital, and I recommend that friends and family find another emergency pet hospital to take their beloved pets to.

Our 11 year old dachshund lost use of his back legs . We went to our vet and they said to get an MRi after prescribing steroids. We knew it was going to be expensive and extremely difficult if successful. All of the staff were very caring and compassionate, Dr.Aster, Dr. Kamari and Dr. Irizarry were very caring and straightforward. All staff was great, Eddie, April and the entire reception team very helpful. Rocky was well cared and loved while in surgery and postoperative. Great instructions were given and release. Happy to report Rocky is improving daily. Thanks to everyone that dealt

I have been to this facility twice - The first time was during covid and they would not allow me to come inside with my dog (Lulu), so I left (and went to VEG at 275 and Bearss). Two years later in the early morning, Pearson was poisoned by a Bofu frog (aka Cane toad) and I took him there because they were the closest to my home. Again, they would not allow me to stay with my dog while they assessed him and treated him. They came back to the waiting room with good news - the anti-venom medication appeared to be working and they suggested he stay the night for observation (estimated cost 3k). I asked to see him and they would not allow it. I then opted to euthanize him, so they brought him to me in a private room. Their report of his improvement was a lie. He was in the exact same condition that he was when I rushed him in - eyes rolled back in his head, seized up body and labored breathing. It was obvious that he was not going to survive and to keep him alive one second longer was only prolonging his suffering. How dare they do that to him!!! I will never go back there! Thank God that VEG opened a new facility on N Dale Mabry

Where to I begin? First off, I was super reluctant to bring my dog into any hospital after our other dog had such a horrible experience from a bufo toad encounter at a different animal hospital years ago. My vet referred us to Blue Pearl as well as 2 of my veterinarian friends that also recommended that we take our dog to this hospital. Every single person I encountered yesterday and today was so caring and so supportive. From the minute I called and spoke to Sue Lee (I really hope I spelled her name correctly and apologies if I didn't) she was so reassuring and kind. I explained to her our dog's medical situation and she was so helpful trying to contact our vet after they had closed for the blood tests and X-rays that were taken earlier that week. She was also able to get my information by phone so we were ready at check in when we arrived. Stevie was the next kind person we met to discuss our dog's medical needs. Again, very thoughtful and she was super thorough with her notes about our dog. We were debating admitting our dog overnight and we never felt pressured by her on what decision we should make. I'm super thankful that we did make that choice to have him stay for further evaluation and testing. Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Schneck I can't thank enough for their efforts and medical expertise for our dog and his serious situation. Richard checked us out and provided great service. We walked away last night knowing our dog was in great hands. I was super impressed to receive a phone call this morning with our dog's update with how he did overnight from Dr. Habegger. Thank you! Like I said before, the medical staff and office staff care about your animals. Dr. Schneck was our attending daytime doctor and he also followed up with me today to go over our dog's progress as well as next steps. I love their approach with how they handle figuring out a diagnosis. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns. Delaney our vet tech today was such a delight by phone as well as in-person when she greeted us with our doggie to go home. She also provided us medicine instructions as well as important discharge instructions. Caroline and Vivian (I hope I spelled their names correctly) got our dog scheduled for a follow up appointment next week and told us to call if we had any questions. Again, stellar staff! Everyone we encountered here you can tell has a heart for our animals and it shows from the minute you walk in until the moment you walk out of this hospital. We are definitely on the right track medically with our fur baby and I will highly recommend Blue Pearl to my friends and family for their pet's critical needs.

Incredibly rude and unhelpful front desk staff. Nurse said they were taking my dog to the back to take her vitals then came back into the room we were in and said that the doctor had done the exam and would be in to talk to us in a bit. They then informed us that she needed X-rays that would cost $1400 - I looked at the cost breakdown and it was insane what they were charging us for. 3 different charges for "body parts" ????? I asked the doctor why we were getting 3 different X-ray charges and she said "huh...I don't know. That's weird." The vet tech said that she pressed on my dogs trachea to hear her cough - knowing that it would be painful for my dog. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? SO DUMB. This place was the BIGGEST waste of time and money - I'm disgusted with the lack of care and respect from this awful facility. Find care elsewhere.

I was able to book the last same-day appointment online for 4:30pm, but thanks to Tampa traffic, I arrived at 4:46. Even though it was past the 15-minute grace period, the front desk team -- especially Megan -- reassured me they would still happily see Sunny. That grace and understanding alone meant so much. They also offered complimentary beverages, and the apple juice I grabbed genuinely helped me calm down after the hectic drive and worry about missing the appointment. Sunny was being seen for a possible ear infection, and Christina, our vet tech, was absolutely wonderful. She listened carefully to all my concerns, explained the next steps clearly, and provided a detailed estimate before any treatment. She treated Sunny with so much kindness, giving her plenty of treats and pets to keep her comfortable during the exam. Dr. Adair Duvall was equally fantastic. She walked me through treatment options, reviewed some dental treats and an ear solution I had previously bought on Amazon, and gave thoughtful recommendations for products that are actually proven to be more effective. Her expertise and patience were incredible. At checkout, Sunny was treated to a complimentary puppuccino, which absolutely made her day! And the next morning, Thay from the office called to check in on how she was doing, which was such a thoughtful touch. The care, kindness, professionalism, and grace we received here made me officially switch Bayshore Animal Clinic to Sunny's primary vet. I can't recommend them highly enough. ZERO STARS After…read morebeing a loyal client for more than two years, I was beyond disappointed by the inconsistency in how this practice handles "emergencies." I recently needed to reschedule a technician appointment for my dog's Cytopoint injection due to a major plumbing emergency at my home. In an effort to still get my dog the allergy medication desperately needed, I rescheduled twice on the same day, moving the appointment from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. When it became clear the plumbers were far from finished, I called approximately 1.5 hours before the appointment to provide an update. Rather than focusing on helping me and my pet reschedule, the conversation immediately turned to a warning that if I needed to reschedule one more time, I would be required to place a $25 deposit on all future appointments, followed by a detailed review of the clinic's four-hour cancellation policy. There was no acknowledgment of the extenuating circumstances that led to my request or the fact that I had provided advance notice. What is particularly frustrating is that the clinic does not appear to extend the same consideration to its clients. During a previous visit in 2026, I was left standing next to my 14-year-old dog with IVDD on exam table and left waiting for approximately 40-50 minutes while staff attended to an emergency involving a chicken that had been brought into the clinic. I completely understand that veterinary emergencies happen and should take priority. However, by the clinic's own logic and policies, clients' time should have value as well. No one offered a discount, credit, apology, or even an acknowledgment that my appointment had been significantly delayed. The inconsistency is hard to ignore. When a client experiences an unforeseen emergency and provides advance notice, they are reminded about clinic policies and future fees. When the clinic's schedule is disrupted by its own emergency, clients are expected to absorb the lost time, missed work, and inconvenience without the same level of consideration - what a glaring double standard! Empathy, understanding, and consistency work both ways. These most recent interactions left me feeling that my pet's health, and my time and hard-earned money would be better spent anywhere else.
