I needed to have the roof replaced on the estate house within 30 days for insurance purposes. I contacted Vaz Construction and was connected with Elijah DeSouzs as my project manger. He was the best. Kept in touch with me on a timely basis, always on time for on-site appointments, knowledgeable about the roof products and friendly and kind. We were able to get the job done within my time frame. The roofing crew worked from morning until night and they were great! They left no mess or debri in the yard. If you need any construction work done, call Vaz and ask for Elijah. You won't be sorry.

What started off seeming like a good company, ended up not being so good. One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. We would recommend KBR for any project that you might have. Karen was great to work with and even when we were not following through with things on our end, she never lost her cool with us and was very patient waiting for us to come to decisions on things. I was also impressed that they gave a 10 year warranty on their work. Unfortunately, when you need to call on them to honor their warranty things go badly very quickly. I was selling my house and as a part of that process the buyer's inspector got on the roof in May 2025. He took a picture of what was essentially a swimming pool on my roof. The water wasn't draining. Interestingly, Couto was already aware of the issue because they told me about it when they did the last roof job in March 2025. But despite me calling several times to see when they would fix the issue, they just put me off and never came. With the impending sale and the swimming pool on my flat roof, I called in for emergency assistance. They literally kept telling me they were coming out the next day for weeks. It took them a month to finally get around to dealing with my emergency, and that was after my almost daily calls, emails and text messages. I tried to get one of the Couto brothers to speak with me but apparently they couldn't be bothered with it. The moral to the story is they are great for initial work, but don't count on them to come through in a timely manner when you need them for warranty work.

The first thing they did was to hire a subcontractor for less than $ 8000. He proceeded to do a pretty shoddy job, not taking any meaningful protection against the lead. The quality of work performed was poor and I did not get much value as a result. I complained many times without any effect. For your own good, you should stay away from this business as frankly I felt they behaved dishonestly with me.
