Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. We liked their work so much that they have also redone our rear porch & steps. Currently we are waiting on estimates for three more home projects. Before and after photos attached

They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

Unfortunately, it cost us over $8,000 in legal expenses for one of our projects before Archadeck stepped up and took responsibility for shoddy workmanship in a project on our property. In Archadeck's defense, they did void their contract with the despicable person that did the shoddy workmanship even before the problems became apparent on our property. Apparently other people had issues also. Why did Archadeck wait for us hire and pay over $8000 for a lawyer for something that they theoretically "guaranteed"? Read your contract very well. We did not read it well enough. Although the word "Archadeck" was repeated in the contract which to me meant that they would stand behind it, the fine print suggested otherwise. Buyer beware. In most states we have few rights. Read your contract very carefully before signing.

We needed reinforced walls and floor to support beveled subway tile from floor to ceiling, a bathtub, toilet and vanity. Craig quoted the job in the late summer and we scheduled it for winter. His crew took longer than originally anticipated but we weren't occupying the house at that time, and the pace yielded fine workmanship. Pricing was as-promised with the exception of a plumbing fix required to meet Narragansett code. Craig was happy to work the with materials we chose and the result is a beautiful, fully functioning bathroom that wows every visitor. He has returned since the job was completed to replace a too-small sliding door and install a mirror, no additional charge. I found Craig through Yelp and communicated via email and phone. There is always an excuse, like his heart, his kid, his truck..... he left my house exposed to the elements for over nine months. He never got a building permit as he has indicated, his work failed inspection when I contacted the building inspector and kept me from using my garage for over a year. Finally, I filed a complaint with the contractors' board (found guilty), the Attorney General's office (they had him sign a document that indicated his guilt) and then in small claims court (guilty again). After over a hundred hours of chasing him down, filing legal documents, phone calls and court appearances it came to me getting someone to follow him in the middle of the night to find out where he was living so he could be served. With that information, he was told he had to pay me the maximum amount I could get in small claims ($5K) or be put in jail. Amazingly he suddenly found some money to avoid jail but complained to the judge that I had gotten rid of his equipment that had been sitting in my driveway for 18 months. I used the sum that I received in court for a down payment to have a second contractor tear down his work and rebuild my chimney. What a nightmare. I can't understand how this person can look at himself in the mirror.
