I currently rent an apartment from one of the properties they represent. I have had issues with the ceiling that leaks I have had property damaged. The ceiling has leaked for over a year and like someone else had reviewed and said on here they pass the buck you try and contact them. It's all this person channels it or this person's out this person's out they don't get back to you. I was told that I would be contacted via email and or text to tell me the status of the repairs to be done. I've heard nothing. The management team and the associates at Blue Star could care less about the problems you're having it's always some sob story about how their hands are tied, blah blah blah they have a maintenance department they could easily send their department out fix the problem and charge the owner. That's a tenant right and if you have a department and you really care about your tenants, these are things you would suggest or put in motion instead they just sit back and collect a check tenants be damned. The only reason why I have not moved out yet is I am still trying to accumulate the funding so I can leave the professionalism and concern for the tenants is zero my suggestion don't rent any property that is managed by this company. They're only gonna let you down and find many excuses as to why.. I would've posted videos, but yelp won't let me it would've shown you the leaking from the ceiling. read more

I recently purchased a condo not to long ago and had to figure out how to get guest parking passes as well as directions to pay the monthly HOA. From the Yelp reviews I was expecting below average customer service. However I decided to make a phone call and came upon Maria who was very pleasant, patient and understanding. She helped guide me through the process and waited for me to hand me the guest passes the same day. She and Randy also responds to emails very quickly and I believe she even responded past work hours to make sure my questioned were answered. Every time I've had to contact BlueStar, it's been an ordeal. You get passed around from one person to the next, each telling you that this or that is handled by someone else. They have a 24 hour maintenance line which is nice except that it's been over a month since I've contacted them and haven't heard anything back. An HOA that refuses to send a bill via mail or email and seems more interested in collecting late fees and threatening a lawyer if you don't pay, that is Blue Star Properties! The office manager Maria is a complete joke. I called her to question why we never received a bill but always manager to receive a letter threatening legal action once your fees are late. She lost all credibility with me when she began screaming, cursing and hung up on me. I expect more from a so called professional company. At fees of $275 a month I don't understand why they cannot send a bill via email or postal service. They can send emails harassing owners to be present for termite inspections, garage inspections, balcony inspections yet half the time their workers never show up. If anyone is interested in a class action lawsuit against Bluestar Properties please DM me as I am interviewing attorney's to take them on. read more

I recently went online and filled out an application @ Bluestar and was forced to pay a $40.00 application fee. After visiting the property I applied for I determined it was not a good fit for me, and since Bluestar had not yet processed my application I asked for a refund of $40.00. I emailed Chrisy Laterreur and was promised that the refund would take place in 3-5 business days. Well 12 days and 4 emails later none of which have been responded to I still do not have my refund. It seems to me that it is a shame that an organization is willing to destroy their reputation for a mere $40.00, I suspect I am not the first to be slight by such an unprofessional company. Do yourself a favor and avoid anything to do with Bluestar Properties. read more

This place is by far the worst business I have ever came across. They lied just to get my $40 for an application fee. While I was there waiting on them to run my credit report (before I found out they were fraudulent) there were two extremely upset renters. One stated Bluestar was supposed to take care of the trash and didn't. She called for weeks with no response from Bluestar. As a new home owner the last thing you need or expect is a problem with your new place. The plumbing issue took quite some time to get resolved. However, Randy Viernes made it happen. I had a few minor maintenance issues that Bluestar Properties took care of right away after I went online and submitted a maintenance request. Do not rent a property from them. They are awful. My parents rented a property from them. They took over 2 months to return a deposit. They didn't provide proper invoices with the deductions, they made numerous calculations errors. If you currently from them here are my tips. My parents who are elderly lived in the property for 2 years and was charged, paint, cleaning, carpet cleaning, and some labor. - Document everything - Do not move out until they complete a walk through, I recommend you video take it while they are there. - Ask for a move out in writing, because the company refused to meet with my parents and if you don't have proof you ask for it in writing it won't matter. - take lots of pictures, get closes when taking pictures. Take pictures of oven, door handles, ceiling fans, toilets, bath tubs (corners), carpets. (they charge $175 for cleaning) They will take hundreds of pictures to make it seem like you left the place dirty. - they will charge to paint the house (even the garage) take lots of pictures of garage. - CHECK THE CALCULATION ON ALL DOCUMENTS. They make lots of mistakes - When you get the deposit check or any letters keep the envelopes with date stamp -If you sue them, sue them and the home owner at the same time. The lease agreement states they don't hold the deposit or any funds. (which I find weird) * THEY HAVE 21 DAYS TO SEND YOU THE REFUND OF DEPOSIT OR A ITEMIZED NOTICE. Then they have 14 days to send your refund from the date of last invoice. ask for the invoices and not the work orders that the company sends out. the invoice must have the phone and address. If you are a property owner looking for a management company. Don't let them fool you. They are not good at caring for properties and will throw you under the bus the moment they get the chances. They make lots of mistakes and it will cost you. read more

For now I'll give them 4 stars. My son and I lived in a Bluestar managed apartment for five years. Since we recently moved, I have already heard back from Bluestar regarding possible refund of deposit. Pending all the receipts being in.. I did a pre-walk thru, which really didn't help too much, but the guy was able to give me some cleaning tips. One thing I knew for sure, is that the maintenance of the yards is up to tenant, and it's in the contract, so I tried my best to take care of that. In addition, Bluestar often sent a gardener to take care of front yard. However, I wish they would have let me know when, so I wouldn't be completely stunned when I was at the kitchen sink and suddenly heard a gardening tool. As for Lupe in Maintenance responding quickly, I too had that same problem. In fact, I once spoke to Lupe's assistant, since Lupe never called me back, and I complained that Lupe never called me back, so she responded, "I've seen her, and she works really hard!" That might be, but still didn't mean she called me back. Besides, she shouldn't have insinuated that I was lieing, which I wasn't! At least,even though Lupe never called me back, she would send over a maintenance tech from Bluestar, or contractor, depending on what the problem was, by the following week. The problem was always resolved!! As far as what deposit refund was due to me, I'll have to wait until they're finished with the process. The summary they sent me already is quite vague, except there is one thing, it appears that they are charging me for labor, and my son in law said that they're not suppose to, so we shall see. I had also paid about $600 in pet deposits, which I don't see on there. Bluestar has told me that I may dispute anything I don't agree with. I hope for a decent refund, since I worked my butt off cleaning up, and not to mention the initial UHaul load was not able to get everything, and we didn't move close, so I just wanted to return the UHaul (rather than have the expense of gas and milaege). Therefore, I made several trips down to the old location (and had to pay Bluestar for more time). Additionally, the items I couldn't move with the Uhaul, I had to try to get on my SUV, and I was lucky if a neighbor would help, and other things, I had neighbors, and passers-by stop and take things, for free. Whatever it took to get the job done. The whole purpose of moving was so my son and I could share with my daughter and her boyfriend. So I hope for the best with Bluestar.. read more

This is the worst place I have ever rented from. The property management is bad at communicating with its tenants. They had bed bugs and mice because they never have pest control out on a regular basis and tried to get its tenants to pay for it. They never gave us notices when they had people coming out to work on stuff. The neighbors play loud music all the time and they never did anything about it even though it's a violation of the lease. Horrible parking and people having all the these cars that do not work on the property contributes to that. read more

I have been a tenant/partner with Bluestar Properties SoCal for several years now. I must admit I have not always been a stellar residential occupant. Randy V and Chrissy L. Have been hardliners on me and my family at times but they have been absolutely stand up people and taken care of business every step of the way. They have also endured with us through harder times when money was scarce and being late on the rent, they were cooperative amd excellent communicators. Quite honestly they could have evicted my family more than one time but they never did they stood in with us and held the line and withstood the rough terrain believing us to be sincere people and allowed us opportunity to right the ship so to speak. I am grateful to be involved in a business relationship with Bluestar SoCal that is so personally important as I house my family in a residence that they manage. I absolutely look forward to a continued excellent relationship with them, and would definitely recommend them as a rental agency over any other outfit in the High Desert area. read more

Half people in units have no AC working. Laundry room always has leaks to point no one can use laundry room.The owner of complex took 6 months to fix parking lot leaks. So here I am looking at properties for my next move, I notice this company has many listing in the high desert. I decided I'll throw my name into the pool as a possible new tenant. So I made a call to their office and attempted to contact someone who's extension was listed as the main contact. Find out he's out of the office till Monday. That's cool I'll continue to pursue the property that I'm interested in. I apply online using their, "Apply Now" button. I figured that might get someone's attention. It costs $40 so it better. I even take it one step further and send an email to their "info" address. Wait through the weekend and most off Monday, still no call, no contact. Give the guy a ring at his extension again, no answer. No vacation message either, so he's around somewhere right? I leave a message with my phone number and info that I've already applied for a property. Guess what, still no call. Here I am out $40 and still not even a courtesy to tell me that the property I applied for is already unavailable. Maybe they just intend to take application fees and bank off of that. Who knows, but for a company with a lot to offer, they sure as shit don't have anything to show for it. read more

Bluestar Property Management as a whole is a poorly run company with a total lack of interest in providing quality customer care. The focus at BPM is to get paid on time, but never respond to maintenance requests within a reasonable time frame. Maintenance representative Lupe has shown herself to be inept at best, not focused, and in need of training. I am SO frustrated with this place! Every time I tried to place any maintenance requests, they were cancelled and not dealt with. The only one who was never rude was the leasing agent, Ann, when we first came across Bluestar and wanted to go see a property they had for rent. We lived in a townhome for over a year and a half and they are being RIDICULOUS when it comes to the deposit! No one answers the phone, no one gets back to you etc. Our deposit was $900 and they gave an estimate over the phone (the one time we could get them on the phone!!!) of probably $150 back, if that. Yet when the guy they send out to do a pre-inspection said it wasn't bad, just needed carpet cleaned and fresh paint and a step re-carpeted at the very bottom step of the stairs. How is that $750 worth???? We are extremely unhappy and would NEVER rent through them again (actually, we just bought a house!). They are ridiculous and petty about EVERYTHING. The guy that came out to inspect our place was SO RUDE, it was horrible! He came to the door...rang the door, I answer and he just stands there, doesn't even say a word. I open up the door all the way and tell him to come on in and he walks in and again just kind of...stands there. Doesn't introduce himself, no nothing. How rude is that!? And he had the nerve to tell me that we needed to weed in the back yard, for one. No joke...there were MAYBE 3 little weeds, maybe standing an inch tall. That's how ridiculous they are right there. Of course, I made sure even those were cleaned up 100%. I'm sick and tired of this with them. What kind of property management company runs their business like this? The review I had read from another person hit it right on the head....they are CROOKS!!! Like trying to charge you for things that were NEVER there in the first place!
