Looks like they tried updating here and there, but not helping much. We wouldn't bathe in the tub just shower. I didn't want to let my baby crawl on the floor. 2) two balcony doors overlooking lake... only one opens. 3) from staff was so inadequate. Neither gave us any info at checkin. Only one had a decent disposition. Both chatted loudly late into the night and early into the morning... our room was off the main lobby and we could hear everything. 4) used condom outside in the grass 5) restaurant is more of a pub, food was good enough. No room service but you can buy a whole wine bottle 6) air conditioning is so loud, we didn't use or we wouldn't be able to sleep 7) in room coffee was terrible. Tea offerings include black Lipton tea 8) bed was soft enough but the box springs were completely uncovered 9) tv was so small 10) furniture was an old mix match of orange oak yuck 11) directions from main road are not great and internet is intermittent. You better know where you are going A total makeover and new staff would make this place amazing.

Food was late getting out and cold, orders were late in getting taken and people were not being attended to. The two bartenders were beyond "snowed"'and this place has t even hit peak yet. They need seasoned bartenders and servers. In the meantime order beer and simple food to ensure the order remains uncomplicated. The old bartender "cristy" had left but she certainly knew how to run the place. They need to make vast improvements to make it through the "season" This place has a great location and typically great food and service but some hands on management is needed to "tighten up" the house

We have a neighbor who had caught 13 crappie (a family fave!) the day before, so we had high hopes for our catch considering they are spawning right now. I think our neighbor might have caught most of them because my dad was the only one who caught a big crappie amongst the 4 of us. I did catch a bass and a little perch, but it was a slow catch that took nearly 6 hours. Many went home empty-handed (including a lot of regulars) this day, so I can't complain. Did I mention I got some good vitamin D? Oh, and fresh air!! Yea, oxygen won as my best catch of the day. I think it's best to come on a weekday when less people are out. This way, if the fish are biting, they have fewer baits to choose from. I like this place. Entry is $5 per person. There are a few off-limit areas near the boat dock and walkways. I get it, but a bummer from a fishing standpoint since crappie like to hang out around structures (i.e. decks, fences, etc.) We found out that you can bring your boat out for $7, which is a better deal even if only 2 people are fishing. My dad has a boat, so we'll probably go that route next time. We were advised that they close the dock at 8 pm and you absolutely will get locked in the lake if your boat is not out of the water by then. Careful! If you plan on coming out a lot, an annual membership will cost you $135. As it relates to social distancing, I was honestly disappointed to see that many didn't seem to be doing that out there and very few had masks on when talking to each other. We still need to care for ourselves and each other, people! Things are not back to normal. Nonetheless, it is still doable to stay distanced and take your own precautions (like I did), if you're planning on coming out. Let's not live in fear, but let's keep doing our part to fight.

Hey buddy - instead of having a sign stating 'no alcohol on the premises' in the corner of the establishment where nobody can see it - place signs WHERE THE BEER IS LOCATED so it is visible. And another thing.....I advise not going to the grill during lunch time....heaven forbid you disrupt the young cook on her lunch break while talking with her friends.....she made it visually and verbally known that we inconvenienced her. I'm a pretty patient person and nearly lost my sh** on both of them. Inexcusable behavior to say the least. Marinas are SUPPOSED to be fun.

Took the payment out of my bank account and that was that. Showed up with my black father and mixed brother to get the boat and the blonde lady at the counter didn't even say anything to me. I had to speak to her and told her nicely we were there to rent a boat. She then said in a rude manner looking at me up and down "a boat from who?" I told her we were rented it from Wild duck marina, are we at the right place? She said "we don't have a boat for you, one second" another lady walked up to the counter, and said the same thing. I told her too that we paid in advance. She said they rented the boat out to some guys this morning and that If SHE had been there herself that morning, she wouldn't have let the bleach blonde girl rent it out to them. I said so it's drive able because you already rented it out? She said yes it's drive able but I don't have a boat available until 8pm when we close. I told her we can take the one that's already broken because they already told us the top was taken off and we had $50 taken off of the full fee already, and we don't mind another broken part as long as it drives properly. She proceeded to say she just didn't have a boat for us and that they had no record of us calling in or depositing money. Meanwhile the boat that was supposed to be ours is sitting in the dock unoccupied!! We told her to give us our money back and they wouldn't even offer us to use it Monday when i mentioned it. My mother who is from Brownwood, called in and got the run around with slightly different time lines from the lady and told them she didn't believe them. She told them we were planning to take the boat out to see some friends in the area. But the second my mother dropped some names of friends and well known people in brownwood, everything changed. The lady tried to the then accommodate and offer Monday for the boat HALF OFF once she heard the names of the people we knew. Had my white mother been there with my black father, myself and my mixed brother this issue probably wouldn't have happened at all! We don't throw the word racism around ever but this was a perfect example of RACISM!!! We will be sharing with all social media and never giving o business to WILD DUCK MARINA AGAIN!

I was positioned very well at 525 Roberts St., near the Texas Woman's University campus, attending the TWU Demonstration School, where my father taught Educational Leadership for over forty years before retiring. I attended the Denton Independent School District, starting at the Demonstration School, where students were actually learning how to manage their own lives as well as act as counselors who advise the young students who are involved in the the classrooms and necessarily need support to help organize their own personal lives as well as those of students. I opted for the less expensive route and decided to go to North Texas State University, which changed names during my senior year, 1985. For graduate school I opted for the University of Houston, where I learned basic principles of Organizational Behavior and Management, with a minor in the realm of Leadership, which my graduate school advisor Art Jago, who became a close friend and confident. For my research practicum I traveled to Budapest Hungary, during the winter of 1990, and taught at The Karl Marx School of Economic Science, giving a short presentation on the then-current rise of the innovators of the time period: Enron and Compaq Computer Company, and simultaneously writing my dissertation, on the laboratory experiment carried out by me personally with groups of ersatz groups of night time MBA students. My graduate school experience was quite fulfilling and expanded my world view considerably, with respect for my preparation in the public education options for the record and posterity.
