I cannot agree with the glowing reviews of Randy's, although my encounter occurred about 10 years ago I belive it's still under the same ownership. At that time, Randy was often in the shop and was aware of the situation. I was trying to sell my recently passed mother's older but in very good condition Toyota Cressida. In fact, a man was driving down here from Okahoma to buy the car he had seen online, and did, although I had to reduce the asking price after Randy's got through with it. I took the car to Randy's for a minor repair. They called and told me it was fixed, but when I arrived they couldn't find the car key. I did not have another key because I didn't live here and didn't know where another key might be. They kept the car for more than two weeks and apparently didn't find the key but told me to come get the car. When I arrived, they gave me two keys, one for the ignition, and one for the trunk. (The original key had fit both.) They had removed the original ignition switch and installed a very messy looking different ignition switch (without asking my consent or approval) that stuck out about a half-inch father than the original. They also had torn off the steering wheel column cover and just laid it on the column where if you touched it, it practically fell off. To add insult to injury, when I questioned the hanging-off column cover, they said, "It was like that when we got it." Although, I have lived in Mineral Wells since then and have owned 5 automobiles, I would never let Randy's touch a vehical I own. read more

I really love Randy's Texaco because they are one of the last - if not the only full service gas stations in town who will come out and pump your gas, clean your windows and tell you a joke while you wait! Its a hometown place, and an honest place if you need to get a simple repair done. When I used to live in Mineral Wells, I would go to Randy's and have them check my car out before I took it on a road trip out of town, they were always honest, and would sometimes top off my oil for me if it was low - no charge, and tell me to come back by when I got back into town if I thought the car needed to be checked again. I think that was half concern and half curiosity about the story I'd tell them about my road trip ... as they were usually pretty entertaining! I wish there was a shop like Randy's out here in Reno! read more

I took my vehicle to find out what was draining my battery, I explained that I believed it had something to do with radio, I was told I needed a new instrument cluster so I had to replace this $400 part plus labor( which I had replaced @ jerry's Chevrolet for 1/2 the cost with labor) but I went ahead and let Randy's Texaco do a tuneup on my truck and add freon to the a/c, that only cost me $625 and when I drove off their lot I had nothing but hot air coming out of vents, my power windows were no longer working and they left my steering column completely torn apart. I replaced part per their recommendation only to have the problem still exist, mind you I have spent almost $900 at this point. I had a friend add freon to my vehicle only to find out that Randy's tech had left trash in the freon port, therefore it had all leaked out, plus the covers to the ports were gone. I repaired the steering column myself and hooked up the wiring for my windows. I finally got problem with my battery losing it's charge by Eagle Sound for less than $40 an freon for $20. So i want to thank Randy's Texaco for letting me spend $900 for their great service when the actual repairs just cost me less than $60; but hey I now have the most expensive spark plugs and wires on my truck. read more
