This gym is more interested in selling classes in addition to the membership. You don't have to…read morejoin the classes, but the problem is when the classes take up all the usable space and members are left with little to none. For example, youth swim lessons and water aerobics take up the entire pool area on Saturdays, making it impossible if you would like to swim laps. "Alpha" fitness classes have two areas that take up a significant portion of the upstairs gym, and they run classes constantly. On top of all this, the equipment that is left for members to use (i.e. benches and machines) are old and falling apart. I personally had a pin slip from an adjustable bench when I had it set to incline for bench press. I fell back with it and chipped my tooth. For the money you pay and for the money they add for extra classes and "events", they should really have better stuff for the general membership. It presents as though little regard is given to the overall members.

I expected discretion and proper follow-up. After reporting, I became aware of information that made me question whether confidentiality was maintained. Management attempted to discuss my complaint in public areas in front of another client rather than privately. I was passed between multiple local and corporate staff members with no clear point of contact or consistent updates. I paused my membership on December 24, 2025 and requested cancellation on February 4, 2026. After no response, I submitted a second request and ultimately canceled on February 10. Between my pause on 12/24 and my request on 2/4, I received no follow up. Between my request on 2/4 and cancellation on 2/10, a front desk employee who was unaware of the situation called to encourage me to return. I attempted to schedule an in-person discussion multiple times, but my request was not addressed. This experience caused ongoing stress and has led me to doubt Life Time's care for their members. Bottom line: Don't trust that you're valued as a member or that your voice matters.

She started off with gentle motions and then worked out the kinks with her finger tips. She was gentle, but applied enough pressure that I could tell I would experience muscle relaxation. The massage table was heated and comfortable. The area was quiet on a Saturday afternoon. They were able to work me in at the last minute (I had an appointment that was canceled at a different place). It was so kind of them to accommodate me at the last minute. I really wanted a massage, and Alyssa provided an amazing one! They were also running a special promotion for the month, and they had a special deal for first time appointments on yelp. The only negative is the lotion. It was very greasy and unscented. She even gave me a hot towel at the end to wipe it off, but it was not effective. I felt like I needed to shower it off. Also the unscented lotion might be great for those with allergies, but I would have preferred an aromatherapy type scent. Otherwise, great experience.

This has been my favorite and I specifically love this location as well. I started out coming to the Lenexa location because of my sister, and I pass a couple other OTs to come here. I have stuck with a Lenexa due to the coaches and "vibe" here. I recently upped my membership and class frequency because I genuinely enjoy coming here! I get so much more out of each session and push myself harder than I would just on my own. It definitely gets my vote!

I don't know if all Orange Theories are the same, but I can tell you stay away from this one…read more First of all not only do you have to pay high monthly fees but you have to pay for a gizmo that may or may not work, You can't just take the class and workout because you have to have this heart rate monitor so you can stay in the "zone" But I was willing to deal with that so I can have the structure. My first "Trial" class was pretty good. The instructor made sure I knew what I was doing, checked in with me throughout the class, and the heart rate monitor worked as it should. That didn't make it past that class. As my monitor didn't even register my name on the monitor, the instructor walked by several times as I sat there obviously not doing anything. Did she stop and check on what was wrong? Heck no. I had to go to the front desk three times to try to get it working. Now remember you must have the monitor to work out. So i sat there missing the first ten minutes of class. And having to get up and walking out of the training room repeatedly was embarrassing. And yet this "instructor " never did a damn thing. Of course the front desk didn't come into the room to see what the issue was. They just kept telling me it was fixed.. So I had to leave. Then I got an email later on with my progress report. WTF? I obviously didn't work out so what progress were you reporting on? At least I got an email from my sales rep trying to make it right. Got a phone call two mornings later from the Head "Coach" "extending a warm welcome". Like you had no clue what happened the class before? I was just another name on a list she finally got around to calling and feeding me a pre-scripted pitch. Then i got an email from the manager. If it wasn't for that email I would have quit right then . She promised to make sure everything ran smoothly the next week. Spoiler Alert? Yeah you know it didn't. My first issue was the website. I'd log in go to schedule my class and it would try to schedule a location 400 miles away. So I had to call in to book. Frustrating. I got there early to make sure they could double check the equipment. Noone made sure my monitor was working properly. What I did get was a babysitter who tried to tell me I was holding the row machine handles too tight. Once again WTF? If I can make this stupid monitor inoperable my squeezing my hands too hard then something is wrong with your equipment No matter how hard I rowed couldn't get above 34%(58 bpm) which is below a good resting heart rate(60 bpm) And since I've only recently quit smoking my resting beart rate is 80 bpm. Which means if I just sit there my monitor should register about 46%. But my babysitter convinced me it'll get better. Lol yeah. It should work from the beginning not 50, 80, 90% of the time. At the end of class I gave the front desk back the monitor. Of course I had to wait for someone to get to the desk. And of course she tried to convince me that she saw it working. Um no you didn't. Even my babysitter saw that it didn't work properly. And now it's been a whole week and I have not received another email from the manager or call from the "Head Coach". And I have yet to see a refund, which means I need to deal with them Monday or my bank to start a back charge. Both frustrating.

Class for 50 minutes twice, maybe three times a week. About once a month testing for about 2 hours. Then sparring equipment... But let's not forget, ONCE YOU SIGN, supposedly you are locked in for a FULL YEAR. Then AFTER the FULL YEAR, you have to submit in writing physically your 90 day request... That means 15 months. Why 15 months you ask... Great question - Hardly ever outside of class hours is someone there. We have been attempting since Nov 2022, it is now Feb 2023 to get a hold of someone. THIS IS Korean AMERICAN Taekwondo... emphasis on American... meaning pay pay pay... here are throw away belts and colorful taped stripes to keep your kids motivated and coming. If you do not get a copy at signing, you will not get a copy ever in our opinion. We have asked repeatedly for a copy of the contract only to be ignored. Essentially you end up signing a 15 month agreement. You must give 3 months notice after 12 months. We don't remember the 3 months cancellation notice requirement being mentioned at signup, it only came up when we attempted to give notice that we would not be renewing our believed one year contract. We have been with other martial arts studios and contracts were renewed and resigned face-to-face after one year, without an extra 3-month cancellation notice required. KAT Olathe's contract is apparently ongoing until you attempt to cancel, then you are told you need to give a 3-month notice. If you don't pay, KAT billing service starts calling you repeatedly. Kids get burned out and need a break sometimes. Just understand what you're getting into. Master Shim was a very good instructor. Master Kwak has a different teaching technique but is a good instructor as well, although stricter. Master Kwak appears to be the owner and does all the agreements. Also realize, between the monthly fee, belt testing fees ($70 every other month) and equipment its more like $150 per month. Had we understood the contract better we may not have signed up. The business practices were 1 Star. The instruction we received was 3 Stars.
