Was visiting my son,daughter in law and grandson and the grandson wanted pizza. So we tried RoKV out. Pizza was awesome and the pizza sauce for was the star of the pizza. We had a large meat pizza and it was delicious. I normally don't eat the crust but I ate every piece of it on my slices. We had the cheesy bread which was good along with the marinara sauce they served with it. Staff was amazing and you could watch folks rock climbing on the wall while you ate. read more

How have I NOT rated this place? I LOVE this place. Truly my 3rd space. RoKC offers you about 5 amazing things packaged in 1 building: a HUGE climbing and bouldering gym, a free weight gym with cardio equipment and squat racks, fitness & yoga classes, a Kids gym next door, and an amazing coffee shop/bar, Apogee. Not to mention the sauna, run club, competition nights, etc. The auto-belay system makes the gym beginner and solo-climber friendly. There is so much value to a membership here. I came for the coffee, but stayed for the culture. There is such a friendly community that goes to this gym that I always feel like home when I step into these doors. Truly a gem in Olathe. I hope RoKC is here for years and decades to come. read more

This place is such a great experience for you kids or your friends, no matter your experience level. The auto-belay systems are wonderful for those of us who either don't trust other humans enough to belay them safely to the ground in the event of calamity, or if you have no friends to belay. There's a lot of wall here; like an inordinate amount of wall, with grippies and chalk. It can be mildly intimidating walking into the church of climb if you're not baptized yet, as it were. But trust in the priests of the grip and take on something new. The pricing is ENTIRELY reasonable, and let me say: this is a significant workout. They have different colored grips for different challenges, and smaller walls with soft flooring for the kids. They'll also provide you with the shoes needed in the event you aren't a total nerd for walls... I really like this place, especially because it's so close to the stage coach place. Nothing like hammering out an s-hook in a billows forge with a true-to-form blacksmith, then jotting right over to climb a wall. Do it. You'll love it. So will your peeps. read more

Love this gym! The people here are always incredibly kind and helpful - both workers and members alike. I mainly use the fitness portion of the gym and love their equipment and variety. The equipment is kept well-maintained and clean. The rock climbing portion is also very awesome, they change up the courses and rock positions every so often and it's always fun to try the new courses. Have brought friends with me several times and everyone has equally enjoyed their experience! read more

My daughter loves climbing and this was her idea for her 8th birthday party. Not only do the kids get to challenge themselves physically, they could overcome fears of heights and gain confidence. But enough of the climbing... which was fun and worth it! Let's talk about the staff. They had great energetic workers that helped the girls get their harnesses on and explained the safety aspects of climbing. They supervised, along with the adults, and jumped in for encouragement, advise, and funny jokes. The staff was 5 stars!!! The climbing gym is connected to a coffee house, bar, and pizza shop all in one. I missed out on the pastries and donuts so maybe this is also a bakery??? It is called Apogee, and the pizza was delicious and filled up the hungry girls and adults. If you love climbing and want to expose your kids, or your kids' friends to climbing I would highly recommend this place for a birthday party or just come in a small group. No experience required as they have auto-belay systems at the top of some of the climbs which allows you to put on the carabiner and start climbing. What a great time by all and you should try this place at least once... or at the very least Apogee's drinks and food if you don't want to climb. read more

I am in love with this place. I came here as a never-before rock climber per the recommendation of a friend, and I was blown away by not just how fun the climbing was but by what a cool place ROKC olathe is to just hangout. I want to be there all the time. With Apogee inside to offer coffee, pizza and beer and trivia nights to the infrared saunas inside the locker rooms... this place just makes me want to kick back and relax. The customer service is great. You get a tour at the beginning which is a little fast-paced so I recommend going with someone who has been before if you can. read more

We came to check this out yesterday for a fun evening activity with two other couples. Matt and I had never been rock climbing so we were a little nervous, but upon entering - we were super excited for the journey we were about to have. The staff is very kind and attentive. Explained everything in detail - and gave us a tour of the entire facility. There are smaller beginner walls upstairs if you are just starting out - but we quickly learned what we needed to do to get from point A to point B. Facility was nice and clean and nice and cool since we were all nice and sweaty. Bathrooms were on both levels with locker rooms - which I did not step into the locker room but the bathrooms were nice and clean. A very fun experience and glad it is so close to where we live to come check it out another day! They also have a restaurant attached which serves absolutely amazing pizza that you will have to check out once you sweat your booty off! read more

Rock climbing has been on my list for eight years. I am so glad that ROKC was my first time experience. The employees are thorough in their tour of the building and explanation on not just rock climbing but the other services they offer; party room, cardio room, weight room and yoga room. All of which except the party room are included in your day pass along with the sauna and locker room. The employees show you the proper use of equipment and then let you go on your own to explore and try for yourself. They do offer classes if you want more instruction but there were 11 of us in our group of various ages and physical abilities so we really just wanted to go at it. It was much harder and scarier than a thought it would be but so fun. The patrons are all encouraging to one another and respectful in taking turns so you truly get to climb as much as you want. We had six year olds with us up to 43 and everyone equally had a great time. read more

ROKC is the gym to go to if you want to climb or learn how to climb. I stopped in for one of their fitness classes. It was mediocre class and you could tell not many people go to these classes. The facility is very nice and offers plenty of amenities from machines, yoga classes, sauna, pizza and coffee shop, and multiple rock climbing wall. This also is a place for kids to climb. I saw many parents drop their kid off for after school programs. If I wanted to learn how to climb this would be the gym I would go to learn. The staff at the front desk was very nice and had great customer service. read more

Everyone there is super friendly and the environment is great for a small gym! That being said very of disappointed with our $40 climbing hour, wasn't told when we bought our day pass that there was no one there to belay certify us, so we had to use the auto belay option which is pretty limited. Blows my mind that you can have a gym and patrons climbing but the front desk doesn't know if they are belaying correctly and really there is no way to determine who is belay certified, it is important for all staff to know devices and knots. Trying to climb a 12 on auto-belay not so easy. Have a new respect for the climbers in the gym that can. read more

Whoa! This place is Great! So cool for for adults and kids. We got there around 9:00 am on Presidents day and it was perfect. It was me, hubby our 5 year old, seven year old and 1 year old. They had a daycare area for our 1year old for only an additional $5. You can rent shoes and harnesses there for $10 or bring your own. All in all, facilities and people were great too. I enjoyed ROKC Olathe and I think it's a very nice modern climbing gym. The facilities were clean, the setting was very good, and I liked the wall and holds. The separate workout area was very impressive as well. I do wish there was a bit more top ropes in general. ROKC Olathe had a ton of auto belays up, seemed like a higher % than other climbing gyms. I would say there are less overall routes at this location than the Northern KC location (in terms of top ropes), but the overall wall features are better here if you lead climb. Nice gym, would happily be a member here if I lived nearby. read more

I love ROKC in KC and was told Olathe was the best but was really discouraged and disappointed. While I applaud your front desk staff and understand they have a starter job... we kept telling them we wouldn't be doing harness and we're simply there to Boulder. But we had to go through the entire tour and it took 20 mins of our time. I get that it's part of your protocol... but when we're telling you we won't be touching those other walls... I don't get why force us to go through it. It made me laugh because naturally we were zoning out and our guide kept saying look at me Your employees are sticklers but I don't like wasting my time. Speaking of time, a simple pizza and bread order took 40 minutes and im looking around and I am literally surrounded by five people who have their stuff. We are with a group and not a fan of literally spending an hour of waiting around or hearing info... we won't be using. It's not a bad area, it's family friendly but I will from now on always go to the underground' location, where it's more chill. Your Olathe location is a let down, and I'm happy I didn't bump up to include it. Thanks! read more

We got to try out this gym on guest passes and test our rock climbing abilities! Mine were nonexistent but everyone in the group was amazing! They had ample space, a variety of course options and I appreciated the beginner options. They also had a full gym, yoga room and locker rooms for use. They also had a bouldering area which was crazy to see! We saw kids and adults at every level of skill. read more

Beautiful facility and such friendly staff! The cost is pretty LOW and the expertise and walls are pretty HIGH!

The setting keeps getting better here as their setters become more experienced. They do have tall walls for the area and there are some friendly employees but they are inexperienced most likely due to the low wages they receive. They've even tried to bother one of the most experienced climbers in the KC area about belay technique... That being said it is a good place for beginners who want to fork over lots of cash for classes (for what an experienced climber would take you out and teach you for free) and membership fees. ROKC advertises on their website that they provide scholarships for after school programs but wouldn't provide any type of discount to the climbing club members at my high school. I've been fortunate enough to have great experiences at other KC gyms and highly recommended Sequence and Ibex over ROKC Olathe their other locations are more chill. read more

I wanted to like it. Not having a rock climbing background I was excited to get into the sport while having a really nice gym at the same location (the original and main draw for me). If you joined this gym for rock climbing, and don't need to use the locker rooms here, it's probably the best gym you could join. Really top notch. Just great. However....I wanted to join because of the gyms proximity to my office. Which means I need a functioning and useful locker room. The locker room is....abysmal. Clearly they didn't expect people to use the locker rooms like in a normal gym. The lockers are tiny, compact and layered w/three on top of each other. There are no benches (bizarre) and the only two showers are both handicap showers w/cheap curtains. Water sprays the main floor which makes for a precarious situation. The sauna, while fancy and brand new, barely gets hot enough to sweat in (it's an infrared sauna). For the price you pay per month at a new facility...I would expect a much better experience. If you joined the gym for rock climbing only, you'll love it. Just don't plan on using the locker rooms. read more

This is a really cool activity, especially for cold winter and hot summer days. You can make it a social thing and have a beer or bite to the attached restaurant or you can make it a competitive thing and go into a full blown climb-off. Or different people in your group can do either! It's fun. Don't be intimidated if you haven't rock climbed before. Just go. It's a type of workout, essentially. A challenge. Try it out and keep this business going! We need indoor options for physical social activity in our weather climate. read more

Family friendly! As a mom with young kids this place is a dream. They have a great childcare set up but they also have small harnesses for the kids and their very patient and knowledgeable staff took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and confident letting my children climb. This facility has areas for climbers of all skill levels so I didn't once feel intimidated or overwhelmed. Beautiful space and very clean! The restaurant in house was also a huge bonus. Our family outing was able to include dinner and a fun activity all in once place. read more

Not your normal climbing gym. This is a huge facility that has just about every possible way you could want to work out. The climbing wall is huge and the bouldering area is incredible. It has more offerings than I've seen in any other gym in the KC area by a long shot. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Always feels like a safe experience. Also there is a coffee/restaurant/bar inside the building which is a huge bonus when wanting something to eat or drink before or after my workout. read more
